We visited the Barnstaple store this week to look for a suit for my husband to wear to our…read moredaughters wedding this summer and we were very surprised to find that men's suits are no longer stocked here now, apparently, there isn't enough room for suits now that the home department has been enlarged, I would rather order home lines online than have to keep ordering suits! but were told that suits are available online where we can order. Well, we prefer to come into a store and see things displayed, colours, style choices and sizes to try on at leisure. We don't want to order several suits online, we would much prefer to see them on sale in the store and I 'm afraid that we have bought a suit else where, off the peg! I am otherwise pretty pleased with Barnstaple store but for reasons being the 'suit issue' I can only give one star.

I remember when it first opened; it was very, very exciting. For the first time South Wales has a selection of designer outlet stores, ranging through everything. From Cadbury to M&S, from Revlon to Whittard, and from Cotton Traders to Animal. The choice was endless. Then the excitement soon wore off, when we realised that these were just normal high street stores with things either substandard or just a little bit cheaper. This is a collection of all that is unwanted from the other shops. That being said, you can pick up some really good bargains from this place, especially from Bookends and some of the sports and camping gear shops. This is a good place to come to if you're after functional items, but not really the kind of place which is going to wow you with its selection of wonderful boutiques. There is also a cinema and food court on site, so you can make a day of it (if there's really nothing better to do). This place getting heaving when it's raining outside.

If you are shopping for fashion I would say don't bother. There are the likes of Gap, CK where you can get some decent basics but not really your going out on Saturday night stuff. Gift shopping is pretty good here and I also seem to make a trip up at Christmas time. Its only 20 minutes from Cardiff so worth a trip and there's plenty of parking and open late for hassle free shopping. Its also has a large food court with KFC, Pizza Hut, Jacket Potatoes, Pies, a cafe and more.

I do find some of the bit a a bit expensive but you can see they are good quality. Then to the left of the shop they sell craft stuff such as wool for knitting, cross stitches, patterns etc.. There is a another entrance door here so if you are just after buying some wool you can go in this way. Upstairs there is more clothes and underwear for sale and there is a big cafe. I do find the shop gets quite messy though as when people pick the clothes that are folded up to check the sizes they don't fold them up when they put them back. There are two checkout desks one for when you buy from the male side and one from the female but it doesn't really matter which you use. There is also an information desk by the changing rooms. The people on the counter are normally very helpful. The shop can get very busy especially on a Saturday so you could be queuing at the checkout for a while or to get in the changing room. The shop also gets very hot so if there is a big queue I normally don't end up getting anything. The shop is very cheap though and there are always lots of bargains.

And, yeah, believe the hype. This was one of the best things we ate in Wales (and it was vegan!). We did the Build A Bowl and chose 1) half pilav rice and half plain chips topped with 2) coconut dal and 3) cauli kemp. It was rich, creamy, and an absolute explosion of flavor! Cardiff Bakestones (4) - ground floor, 161 - 165: Known for their Welsh cakes (which are kind of like a scone or a biscuit; softer and slightly sweet, they're baked round with a crinkly edge. Cardiff Bakestones has LOTS of different flavors (like salted caramel, nutella, lemon curd, chocolate chip, etc.) and also vegan and gluten-free options. Definitely get a couple more than you think you're gonna want, because *trust me* you're going to want another right after the one you've just eaten!

Other shops include Poundland, TX Maxx, Card Factory, Store Twenty One, F. Hinds and Claire's. I couldn't find the wooden statue of Merlin yesterday which is supposed to stand here perhaps it has been removed for renovation or repair. Merlin's Walk is situated next to the bus station and there's a large car park at the Argos end too. Opening times: Mon-Sat: 9am 5.30pm Sundays: 10am 4pm (Late night shopping at Christmas)

It's an aesthetically pleasing, modern building with the shops partially covered by what look like massive tents above. There's a large, sometimes supervised play area here aswell in one corner (for up to 12 years old). It's not just shopping here though. There's a nine screen Odeon cinema and a large food court with Mcdonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee, Starbucks and others aswell as another children's play area. It's a great spot popular with adults and teenagers alike and you can easily kill a couple of hours wandering round everywhere. As well as clothes shops, it's also got sports shops, music shops, mobile phone shops and pretty much everything you could want. All at affordable prices too.
