Got the wrong prescription. Told the fit staff that everything was blurry. Was told give it a few days to adjust. After a week called to schedule an appointment. The day before the appointment get a text message due to scheduling my appointment was canceled. This happened three times in four months. They only care about payment not the patient. read more

Can't call them on the phone for an appointment. Have to call general number with 26 people in line before you. Or can text them for a call back, but that occurs in 24-48 hours, if you're lucky. Went online to set up appointment and it stopped me from continuing after it asked if I was a new or existing patient. Very frustrating and insulting. read more

This is the most inept organization that I have ever encountered. It reeks of DEI incompetence. First, last December 4, after being diagnosed with cataracts by Clemson Eye Powdersville and referred to the Easley office, The Easley office examined me and I was told by a so called "counselor" that I had six months to make a decision regarding surgery type. I waited until May 4 and called Clemson Eye to schedule my surgery. I was then told by a Clemson Eye representative that I only had a three month window and I would have to be re-examined before surgery could be scheduled. Thinking that I had misunderstood my initial instructions I let this person schedule me for another examination on June 18. I showed up for this exam and met with another "counselor" that I did indeed have a six month window but since it was now (6/18) past the six month window I would have to be reexamined at my expense before surgery could be scheduled. After completing the examination I again met with this "counselo"r to schedule my surgery. Surgery was scheduled for 7/1/26 and 7/6/26. Now this inept group knew at the outset that I have a severe heart condition (medical history disclosure that I had to fill out for both Powdersville and Easley location). I was given a form for my cardiologist to fill out indicating my fitness for this surgery which Upstate Cardiology did indicating that they saw no undue risk with me having this surgery. On Wednesday 6/24 I received a call from Piedmont surgery (the outpatient surgery center that Clemson Eye Easley uses) informing me that I had been rejected for surgery because my heart ejection fraction was too "low". They indicated that I would be contacted by CE easley regarding what I could do going forward. Cee "counselor" did contact me with an apology but had no clue what I could do to get my surgery. These "counselors" are obviously not in possession of basic information required to be communicated to the patient. They are useless. This ejection fraction requirement should have been communicated to me back in November (Powdersville) and December (Easley appt.)Had this been properly handled at least I would not have been led down this rabbit hole and then abandoned. And they refuse to reimburse me for the useless second exam. As I stated at the start of this review, this is the most inept professional organization that I have ever encountered. Actual opthamologists/surgeons may be ok but the office is incompetent. As a final note my 'counselor"tried to sell me some eyedrops that I would need before the surgery for$45-$50. I( had the prescription called in to CVS and Medicare paid 100%. This was after they had already charged me $42 for a little bag that contained some safety glasses and a bottle of some type of antiseptic. Obvious money grab. After several visits to Clemson Eye (Easley Office) I paid insurance copay at each visit. I never received a bill or statement of any kind and this morning I received a call from a credit agency saying I owed them money. I want be going back to this office except to straighten out this problem. Can't call them I get answering service or someone overseas . read more

Horrible!! From the endless emails asking me to sigh up, or fill out a form, all to make THERE jobs easier. No customer service. Phoning them is worthless. I think I was talking to someone in China. I was supposed to have an appointment today, and they cancelled it this morning via text. Which I didn't see until I showed up! You couldn't at least CALL someone, at least call the people that had an appointment before lunchtime and may not see the text. I was also billed on my medical insurance. What a scam. read more

The ophthalmologist was excellent and the staff on that side of Clemson Eye was excellent. What I fault is the optical dept where one gets one's eyeglass prescription filled. They NEVER answer their phone or return messages left on their voicemail. They offer terrible service. It is also very frustrating dealing with the Clemson Eye central operator who is not located at the Easley clinic, and knows nothing about the individual clinics. She takes the calls for all the eye clinics under this franchise in the cities around Greenville. She knows nothing about the Easley clinic. I called on Friday, Dec. 30 to ask to speak to the optical dept at the Easley clinic. The operator tried to connect me, and, as usual, no one answered. I asked this operator if the offices would be open today, and she said yes. So, I drove 15 min. to the Easley Clemson eye clinic at 2 pm, and there was a sign on the door, saying that the Easley office would be closed early today and would not reopen until Tuesday, Jan. 2! Boy, was I frustrated!!! I had come to the clinic to get my prescription for sunglasses, written by the Clemson Eye ophthalmologist, filled through my insurance before the end of 2022. This was the last day I could get my prescription filled at Clemson Eye, since they are closed on Saturdays. If I could get my sunglass prescription filled before the end of 2022, in 2023, I could make use of my insurance again to get new regular eyeglasses which I knew I would need soon. I ultimately went to Sam's optical dept in Easley where I was helped and got my sunglass prescription filled through my insurance with no problem the next day - Sat., Dec., 31. I will not be going to the Clemson optical dept ever again. read more

I called ahead of time to see if they had a certain pair of glasses for my daughter and they did! I asked them to hold it for me so I can see it in person. The optical staff was friendly and helpful with what we needed. The whole area was clean and they had a lot of choices for glasses and sunglasses. I was glad that they had what we needed. read more

Went for my routine eye exam appointment. To my knowledge this was a routine eye exam and I should have paid a $10 copay based on my vision plan. I just got the statement. I was charged $250 for the exam and it was billed to my medical insurance instead of my vision plan. When I called to inquire about the balance due, I was told they did not bill to my vision plan because it was a medical issue. Dr. Dodgens told me everything was fine. No problems. So why is this billed to medical insurance, not my vision plan which would have been a $10 copay? I agree with another review, they are charging to do procedures that MIGHT be a problem. They claim to take your insurance. But what they fail to tell you is they only take the medical side. They don't disclose to you that they won't take the insurance for the glasses until after you've been there for 1hr and 30 min appointment. The last thing you want to do is get a print out and go somewhere else!!! When I called some other local eye places and asked if I can use the insurance for glasses there, they were quick to ask if we had been to Clemson Eye. They said they get calls daily of frustrated customers. It's bad practice and horrible customer service. I won't be back. And I won't recommend them to anyone. It's especially taxing when your dealing with kids glasses and appointments and you have to cart them around to other places to get what you need. read more

Don't let your elderly parents go to this place by themselves! I think the elderly must have a bull's-eye on their foreheads because my mother (in the beginning stages of dementia) went in there and they sold her $1000 pair of glasses! $1000... For one pair of glasses! And her prescription isn't even that complicated. Ridiculous! read more

Let's start off by saying Dr. Dodgens was excellent, professional and had a wonderful personality. The woman who started the exam was the exact opposite. She acted as if she was mad at me because I did not have my former prescription for my contacts. It has been a week and I still do not have my trial contacts I have called five times today trying to contact them I've gotten hung up on three times just trying to connect me over there left a message and nothing. It's a bit annoying not to be able to actually speak to someone you have to leave a message and wait for them to call you back. Just give me the direct line. I hate to only give 3 stars, but I want to be honest. My wait time was about 40 minutes. Everyone was covid friendly and the facility was extremely clean. My issues started with the eyeglass center. They are very unorganized, After my second pair of glasses I still can't wear, I gave up. I have a $350 dollar pair of glasses I can't see through. The phone and message system is horrible. I tried for a week to get in touch with someone. The service after the exam needs some work. My next exam will be elsewhere. read more

Wonderful staff! Great doctors. I could see that they had to take extra time with an elderly woman and they spent the time they needed with her. That being said the spent as much time with me as I needed. I will definitely come back to this practice. read more

First off, the office itself is immaculate. Very modern and beautiful. The staff was super friendly upon arrival. I saw Dr. Dodgens. She was super through and attentive. It had been a while since I had been to the eye doctor and I felt very confident in her and my exam. The girls in the glasses and contacts department are so helpful. They will find and get you exactly what you want for the rice that you are willing to spend. Highly recommend. read more

I ordered glasses for my daughter and was told it would take up to two weeks for them to come in and that they would call me when it was time for me to pick them up. No one ever called, so I called to check on them several days after they were supposed to be in and was told that they had come in over a week earlier and that someone had already picked them up....? We hadn't picked them up, so now they're just missing. I waited for days for them to locate the glasses I had ordered, no luck. I made several more calls to them about the missing glasses, and after speaking to several different people and staying on hold while they investigated, they finally decided to place a rush order for another pair. The following week, the frames came, but not the lenses. No one called. I called again and was routed to different voice mails and had to leave messages and wait. I finally got the finished glasses today and picked them up. I waited for them to redeem themselves in some small way, but got nothing but a robotic sermon on how to clean the glasses. I decided to speak up and ask for a small discount or something as a condolence for the time, trouble and aggravation I had taken to finally get these glasses. I got nothing. The lady said that I had purchased an already discounted package and that was that. No apology, nothing. Most places would have at least offered a second pair at no charge or something. Anything would have been nice. I won't be going here again. Not happy with what happened. read more
