Doctor Weir was great, but you have to watch billing like a hawk. I have Aetna PPO , I went in for a 5-minute deal to get an ingrown hair removed under my right eyelashes. The billing department coded it wrong and now wants another $125 outside of my copay. Now I have to dispute this. read more

My family has used Jervey for three generations, but Jervey has changed. Their doctors are very fine, but the practice has become an assembly line where you stand in line to sign in and stand in line to leave. Most of the retina patients are elderly. Some are brought there by family members, but many are frail and on walkers and canes. On my last visit, I watched as an Uber driver lifted a sweet lady from his car, put her in her wheelchair, and rolled her in. She tried to roll herself into the waiting line, but with her crippled hand, I saw that she needed assistance; I helped her. i asked to see the manager of the "front end." i made three suggestions about improving how these elderly clients could be better served, but my suggestions were all curtly dismissed. I left the practice and have found another retina specialist in another practice. I was sad to do this, but as a senior citizen, I finally realized that this is no practice for the frail. read more

I'm sitting in my car having a near meltdown from frustration. I have been trying since November to get my eye prescription right from Jervey Eye Group. Today I went in to see a third doctor in the practice with my fourth pair of incorrect glasses. Dr. Anderson had me go to the optical department to check all the measurements on both my new and my old glasses to compare. They did that and determined that the progressive height was way too high. She measured both my PD and my SEG height, and then I went to see the doctor. He was great and got my new prescription for me, then told me to go back out to optical and have them give the measurements so I could order my glasses again. (I mail order from Pair eyewear, and have a pair of glasses from them in the same frame just a different color.) When I came back out the optical department refused to do the measurements again since I wasn't buying the glasses there, even though she had already done the measurements a half an hour earlier. She said she could give me the PD if I paid an additional $20 but she said she would not give me the height for the progressive if I don't buy the glasses there. I went to the front desk in frustration and the office manager said she couldn't do anything about it because the optical department is separate but she asked the manager of the optical department to come and talk to me. Philip the manager came out and stood firm on their policy even though if I had sent in this prescription like it is it would be wrong again and I would have to come back again. I mean I've never had this trouble before, my previous eye doctor would write down how much to lower the progressive and give me my PD measurement and my glasses would come out perfect from wherever I ordered them from. So I'm getting more and more frustrated standing here trying to talk to this manager I'm in tears and about ready to meltdown and he doesn't even care he was kind of a jerk. I ended up leaving there shaking and decided to try to pull into my old eye doctor office to see if they would help me. My eye doctor at Clemson Eye retired and last year's insurance when I started all this wasn't accepted here so that's why I switched to Jervey eye group. Clemson Eye was so nice to me and Debra in the optical department was so kind said she would give me the measurements no problem and didn't understand why they were being like that. She tried to calm me down and gave me tissues which was so sweet. I will definitely come back to Clemson Eye and I warn anyone not to go to Jervey eye group because they are just horrible at customer service. read more

The staff here is top notch. My hubby has major issues with his eyes so he has to get a shot in his right eye every six weeks. With his last doctor he dreaded this procedure. Dr. Pflugrath, his primary doctor, specializes in retna care. Now, although he still doesn't look forward to it, the process is much faster and more efficient. Recently, the hubby also had cataract surgery in his left eye. His doctor for this was Dr. Newman. The hubby and I both feel she is very knowledge and she has a way of explaining things that is both easy and respectful. She did a great job. Now...the cherry on top of the cupcake...the reason that finally motivated me to post a review and give 5 stars ... I have two pair of glasses. This morning I grabbed the pair that has been crooked for ages...I kept forgetting to take them in to have them adjusted. Today as I was waiting for my husband's appointment I asked one of the opticians if he could help me adjust them. I handed my crooked glasses over to Johnny and he worked his magic. He did a great job; my glasses fit perfectly and his friendly and helpful attitude had me smiling as I walked away. Great facility, care team and staff. Definitely a 5 star eye are center. read more

I have had nothing but good service since I started with JERVEY Eye. Having macular degeneration, and cataracts, being listened to is high priority for me. On two different occasions, I have felt the need to see a doctor in a relatively short period of time. They have gotten me into the office in a very little amount of time. My wife and I both went to Jervey based on good experiences that I had in the past. This time the doctor seemed rushed and barely interested in anything I had to say. Felt very factory like. For my wife, she dealt mostly with a technician/assistant. The assistant insisted on checking the prescription of the readers she had even though my wife told her they were 2.0 from Walmart. The assistant did the eye exam. When the doctor finally came in he told her that he was just too busy to do her eye exam. read more

Went for a standard eye exam and contact fitting. The eye doctor put the standard eye exam under medical, which caused me to pay out of pocket. This may have been done intentionaly to get more money. read more

Not a good experience. Was told i was in need of a cornea transplant by Dr. Gustav, which ended up not being true. I went cross country to one of the best eye institutes in the country who disputed that, and said i was only in Stage 1 of Fuchs Dystrophy, while Gustav had said i was in Stage 3. My recommendation is NOT TO go there if you might need a surgical opinion. Very disappointing and scary read more

This practice is to be avoided for: * I was diagnosed as possible glaucoma, but I only had one marker. The told me to come back every 6 months. $191.25. * I got 4 appointment reminders. I arrived early. Then I waited almost 1 hour. By contrast, when I switched to Lenscrafters, the optometrist told me I only had one marker - not serious, just keep a watch out. Exam once / year is fine because any progression is slow. And I was seen quickly. And it only cost $20. read more

Huge new surgery center and eye center, now on Steven Street. Quiet, carpeted, plenty of helpful staff., as well as amazing physicians. You can but glasses here, have eye surgery, or just get check-ups. Whatever your eyes need, this is the best place in Greenville. read more

The offices are nice and rather grand scale but three big issues it cost money for grand scale! eye exam was always covered by my insurance but they charged me more ( no disclosures up front) billing error I take to their attention and I'm t even the bill is wrong and I owe more! I tried to review the bill and the woman was soooooo rude condescending and honestly shows no regard for a customer and understanding what happene. location one said they were backed up and my wait would be long so here's another location you can go in the morning to get you handled ( oops another co pay) because they are overbooked but the icing on the cake is this woman at the Steven's Road office Jamie! Well company if you care for your reviews and or further business get rid of her and her sassy rude attitude! How dare you screw up billing and I ask for explanation and get told " is $30 that important to you? If I waive that fee will it make you happy? Rude! It's your error! Don't speak down to a customer! This place needs to be avoided. They are highly unprofessional. I had a 3.15PM appointment with Dr. Gustave at the Halton Road location. I checked in at 3.00PM. At 3.40Pm I was still waiting to be called in. There was a woman waiting ahead of me with a 3.00PM appointment. I walked out and asked for an explanation, there was none. I wrote a letter and there has been no response. No doctor has the right to waste the patient's time and have them waiting without a valid explanation. read more

I was bombarded and shamed by Dr Gustave about not having the vaccine. I told him I was not an anti vaccination person but have chosen not to have the COVID-19 shot. He continued to tell me why I was wrong and even tell me that I should not believe everything on Fox (I had not mentioned Fox News) he assumed someone as ill informed as I would get info from Fox?? I told him I read and that is why I haven't gotten the vaccination. Staff is rude. The technology is outdated. I had an eye condition that I was going to cornea specialist every 6 months for years. I asked multiple times if there were options to help me with my cornea issues. I was told no. I changed to Clemson Eye only to find out there were options to help me with my eye condition and improve my vision. I trusted my doctor to stay up-to-date on available options. He didn't. I highly recommend to go to anywhere else other than Jervey. read more

My husband had eye surgery here (5 Stevens St.) with Dr. Lesley. He had to go back the day after for his post op visit. Since I am the one that makes sure my husband takes all his meds and everything else I feel I have the right to ask questions that he doesn't think about. Dr. Lesley acted as if I wasn't in the room. When she did answer the reply was snarky. I can't stand this place and from what I've heard from other patients the other female doctor is the same way. read more

I saw Dr.Bowden for my cataract surgery and I got the best care. Everyone in the office was very friendly and helpful. The nurses at the surgery center was very professional but also very friendly.
