I went to their primary care doctors for 4 years, my original doctor left so…read morethey had me rotate to several different doctors for the past 2 years, I asked to switch to a different doctor because I didn't feel comfortable with the one they had placed me with and they said absolutely not. Apparently they have an office policy that they implemented last January that says no patient can change doctors because it's seen as doctors stealing patients from other doctors in the practice. They even spoke with the doctor I said I didn't feel comfortable seeing again and the other female doctor about my situation and they decided that I had to keep the same doctor. I understand each office can have their own policies but this one seems a little extreme. Just a warning: Westcare Medical Primary Care places doctors ego's over patient's comfort.

However, since they have been managed by Mount Sinai about a year ago, it has been awful. You can not speak with a receptionist in the office. All calls are directed to an answering service and they do not call back. If you have a billing issue, you can not get in touch with anyone. I had to dial the emergency prompt in order to get someone to call me back. Even at that, they don't call back. I went in for testing and they did not call me back for over two weeks with the results. The office is completely disorganized and I don't even trust them with my records so I'm leaving. It is really frustrating.

I've had my back go out at least 3 times and within 2- 3 treatments and exercises he's provided instructions for at home, I've felt immediate improvement within in 3-4 days. Dr Goldfarb sincerely cares about his patients and spends time talking and getting to know them and their pain issues. I always see patients and families coming in for treatments. I will start by stating that I have been a patient of Dr. Moehlen for almost 7 years. At first,…read morethe visits were great. Dr. Moehlen is patient and friendly. It is generally a pleasure to meet with him during visits. This office, however, needs to be shut down. Dr. Moehlen is generally clueless as to what is occuring within his walls. And Dr. Shortle? Forget it. She'll give you a pap smear that feels like she's trying to skewer your intestines. The facilities are not well kept. There is built up lime deposits in the sink, rust on the duck clamps... I doubt anything is sterilized, which embarrasses me to say considering how long I've been a patient. (I don't have the best insurance and therefore had to settle for what I could get). The staff clearly does not understand that medical offices are businesses and that customer service, courtesy and respect are still practices that are in the best interest of a profitable business. They do not greet you. They will not check you in. You WILL wait, consistently, at least 40 minutes past your appointment time. They will also charge you for services in-house on the basis that they are "unsure" whether your insurance will cover these services or not... and they won't let you leave until you pay. When I called my insurance company about this particular vaccine I was charged for, the insurance company said Moehlen Medical had submitted a bill to them (insurance) for the office visit. NOT the vaccine. When I asked whether the vaccine in question was covered, my insurance company said that yes, it was, in fact, covered IN FULL. They are scam artists. Additionally, on my last visit, the day I got said vaccine, they gave the doctor the wrong chart. He had another patient's chart-- a patient who was in her 50s (I'm in my 20s). He took notes in the incorrect chart and even wrote out THREE prescriptions for me under her name. When I returned to the office with the incorrect prescriptions and notified the front desk person that they had the wrong name on them, her response to me was, "didn't you notice the wrong name?" THAT'S YOUR JOB. I didn't notice the wrong name. It was a Thursday, I was visiting the office during my working hours, and having been seen 45 minutes past my appointment time, I was in a rush to get back to WORK where I actually do my job well and accurately. She then tried to place the blame on the Doctor. They're a disaster. So many HIPAA violations here as well. While I was waiting for my card to be charged that day, the receptionist asked me to stand by a counter where there were three medical charts completely open, completely visible to me. Having worked in the business of medical privacy laws, legislation, and the like, I informed the woman that these charts were there and that it was a huge HIPAA violation, and she should move them. Her response? "Oh, yeah, I know." SHE DIDN'T MOVE. Imagine if those were your charts. I closed the manilla folders and placed them on the other side of the desk. Don't come here. Just don't do it to yourself.
