In my fairly expert "camping" experience, this place is alright. There are outlets and water spigots at each campsite with showers and bathrooms not too far from any particular camp site. There's a beach, several little jungle gyms near each of the facilities for the kiddies to play at, a game room, and a convenience store that, surprisingly, doesn't try to rob you blind. They conveniently provide a small metal trash barrel next to each picnic table on the site, so you don't have to worry about bringing any of your own unless you know you'll go through one large black plastic bag really quick. A word to the wise, you have to bring whatever garbage you create to the dumpster near the entrance to the campground yourself. And, should you be like us and show up really late: the campground shuts down at 10:30 p.m. This means that if you have reserved a site, but show up at 10:35 p.m., you're not going to be happy because they're not going to let you in. Thankfully, we showed up just in time, but not without being told how lucky we were to just have made it. Security at this place is pretty standard in the ways of campgrounds of today: once you've checked in and paid your money they give you an RFID card so that, should you leave the campground for any reason in your car, you'll be able to get back in later. No card, no getting in. The con to this place is that it is basically an RV paradise. So if you're in to that sort of thing, you will be more than happy here. Also, because its such a densely populated campground, quiet hours start at 10 p.m. so you do have keep raucous drinking voices to a minimum. As we were on the very edge of the campground's property line, our neighbors were quite tolerant of our loudness. Note: by "camping" I mean the type where you have all the comforts of home within walking distance, but you're still sleeping outdoors, roasting your food over a fire of some sort and have plenty of bugspray to kill the nearest infestation of mosquitoes.

Fabulous quiet place to stay. We have been twice and will come back for a third. Cabin was immaculate. They took us in when we left JELLYSTONE for being filthy. They waived early check in and everything.

Very clean campground, showers, and cabins. Very impressed. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us when we arrived after hours.

I am 30…read moreyears old, typically camp with uncle and cousin and some other friends that are about 30 years old. We don't care about the pool or wifi, don't care about what kinds of programming for families they may have, or any of the other things camp grounds are pushing these days. We want a somewhat private site, we want to be able to keep our fire going as late as we want (as long as it is under control), and we want to be able to keep our music playing at a reasonable level. We have never been told to put out our fire during quiet hours, or to turn off our music. We can stay up all night having a great time by the fire and playing cards without being broken up, but everyone plays by the same rules meaning it is not a wild place and we have never encountered other sites being too loud for our enjoyment. If you're looking for some old fashioned camping - even in an RV - where you can enjoy being outside with good company all night, this is a great spot. The staff has always been pleasant as well and the rates are comparable to nearby grounds.

Clearwater has a lake, but the lots are more jammed packed and not as spacious. Clearwater seems to be more family friendly with a playground, lake, etc. Meredith is more laid back and quiet. Meredith also has an indoor pool and hot tub which is nice. The staff at both places were very friendly and both have a nice store. We drove over to Clearwater to spend the day on the beach/lake. We rented kayaks which were very decently priced ($6 single, $12 double for 2 hrs.). The water was very clear and the beach was pretty large. The only downside to our camp site was a fence beside us. It made it feel a bit less woodsy. I also felt they could clean up around the store and grounds a bit. It looks a bit rundown. Same with the docks at Clearwater. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again!

Nice campground, however, the owners are totally ridiculous…read more They have no idea how to keep track of the finanances, they are constantly making mistakes, from overcharging campers, mixing up the payments, sending bills to the wrong addresses and even not documenting payments The lady in charge of the camp store is very disagreeable, she is imediately ready to attack and is very confrontational, completely unreasonable. The guy that goes around all day seems nice enough, however, he is constantly working against you. He quotes a price for something and then charges you more than he said. Nice campground if the owners were nicer and better organized. Financial Disorganization: The owners' inability to manage finances accurately, leading to overcharging and payment mix-ups for seasonal campers, is a serious concern. This lack of organization can create significant stress and financial burdens for campers. Unpleasant Camp Store Staff: The "disagreeable" and "unreasonable" behavior of the lady in the camp store creates a negative experience and can deter campers from utilizing this amenity. Dishonest Pricing: The inconsistency in pricing from the staff member who "goes around all day" (quoting one price and charging another) is unethical and erodes trust. While he may seem "nice enough," this behavior is detrimental.

If I could give a zero star review for this campground, I would…read more I've been camping my whole life around the New England Area (NH, ME, VT, NY, MA) as well as other parts of the United States (AZ, NV, CA) and this might be the worst campground I've ever been to (can't say I've stayed here because thankfully we were kicked out). While deciding to pick a campground, I saw this place had decent reviews and decided this is where my party of 4 (with two tents) would stay. However, it was my mistake to not pay attention to the change management issues this campground has had since the new owners took over, and my party experienced similar stories to the reviews left about these new owners. Long story short, I had someone in my party (who was on the reservation) go to the campground to check-in and set-up our site (around 3:30-4pm), the desk attendees (woman owner and son of woman owner) gave the person in my party the keys to the gate to get in, the campground map, and the parking pass for our vehicle (you'd think everything was all set right?). The man in my party then went to set-up the site with no issues. Later, around 5:30PM, I called the front desk to let them know that I was going to be adding 2 additional people to my reservation, and gave their names. The owners immature son took my call and proceeded to tell me I deceived them (because a person in my party checked-in and not me - hotels, other campgrounds, do this and is 100% allowed/a common process - i.e. wife makes and pays for hotel reservation, and husband on the reservation checks-in), and was very rude and unprofessional over the phone. This led me to head to the campground so I could sign paperwork with my name instead. When we got the campground, the rude front desk attendees (women owner and owners immature son) told me that security was coming to talk to me about the campground rules. This led the poor women owners husband (seemed like a nice guy) to deal with the situation. The woman owner's son, who I talked to over the phone was to immature and incompetent to come speak with us about the unprofessionalism he spoke with over the phone (unfortunate that he feels he can speak rudely over the phone but will not say a peep in person). The woman owner lost it (not surprising), and we were told we couldn't stay there and we ultimately picked up our site and left. No refund or nothing (hopefully they can take our money and hire competent professionals that know how to deal with customers). Overall, the campground looked nice - but good luck getting to it (you have to make it past momma bear and her grouchy cub)! I would save your time, energy, and money, and just book a site at one of the several other campgrounds near by. Until they get rid of this crazy family who owns it, it's worth looking elsewhere.. also, a great example of what I'm talking about is look at the 1 star reviews and look at how the woman owner fights these customers..

CAMPER BEWARE!!!!…read more Upon my family's arrival at The Twin Tamarack, we checked in, excited to start our long Columbus Day weekend, around 4:30 or so, an 1 1/2 after check-in. We received our key to the trailer at site #68 and walked into this!! Feces on the toilet seat, stained sheets, dirty microwave, filthy cookware, unwashed dirty floors and bathrooms. Dust everywhere.... and hair still inside the showers! Completely disgusted by the stench, and horrified by what we were seeing, we called the front to make them aware of how unclean the trailer was. Mind you, we were originally told by the owner that professional cleaners cleaned and disinfected after each guests stay, prior to us agreeing to put down our down payment to begin with. The woman taking our call said to her husband (The owner) what we were reporting looking to him for feedback; the man said, and I quote, "I only went in to make sure it didn't stink." The woman apologized and sent another employee to clean. Needless to say, my family and I were displaced until 8:00 p.m with a van full of belongings and groceries we had just purchased for our family vacation. We had to now go out to dinner and feed our family of five. We were offered a complimentary night, however, the night was already gone, and the trailer we had rented for the weekend was minimally cleaned. We asked the owner to meet us in the middle at half price, off of our already [paid] three night stay, because we had just driven 3 hours to get there; were displaced until 8:00; had to go out to dinner and feed our family; and by then we just wanted to rest. (So my family was willing to settle because of this whole ordeal and just stay). The couple proceeded to laugh in my face, and said it was "my prerogative" if I wanted to leave, and the night was not gone." Unwilling to work with us, after their mess-up, we got our full refund back. My husband and I were appalled by the owners, and how rude and miserable they were. Sorry for the long post, but I feel any family visiting should be aware of this, especially during a pandemic! Stray far away from this campground. You will be disappointed if you stay. Wish there was an option for ZERO stars!
