Service ordered was a full deluxe detail for an oversized vehicle at the 101 N Tryon location in the Independence Center. The discounted price for building employees is $170. Michael is manager is in the lobby of this building every day. They told me normal price was $225 but, I have never seen him charge anyone that much. I get my car completely detailed about every 3 months. So, I know what to expect and what other local companies do. Below is my review.
Good Points: The outside was spotless. All of the dirt was removed and it was left shining. However, this was a full deluxe detail so, that is expected. The owner and the cleaner were both very nice people. They are extremely curious and met me downstairs. The inside carpets had some bad stains and these were removed. The dash and the door jammed in the front of the car were wiped clean. The mats were cleaned well.
Bad Points:
1) I scheduled an appointment for 10am. I thought it might be ready by 3pm or 4pm. The time did not really matter to me as long as time was taken to do the best job possible. The time allocated would be 4 hours to work on my car and an hour or two finish up another car. Most full deluxe details take 4 hours minimum. My car was started between 3:30pm and 4pm. The detail was complete at 5:15pm. I was thinking this guy was good to complete it that fast. However, I could tell he rushed the job. Also, if you are unablke to work on the car until the afternoon, do not have the customer waiting around for 5 hours for nothing. Tell them to come back later. 1 star removed for that.
2) The back seats were not vacuumed at all and back door jams were not touched. Any dust buster in the world could have removed the small crumbs on the seat. The seats were also not protected or conditioned in any way. We did bring it back to him and told him to finish vacuuming but, that should have been a given. There was also piled of water left on the plastic mats in the car. It took 2 bath towels to absorb it all. There was rag dust residue all over the dash and the built in electronics in the car so, it made it look rushed. Shedding rags should not have been used. 1 Star removed for that.
3)The person washing the car up charged (self tipped) us $10 for pet hair removal, wanted cash only, and almost refused to give us a receipt. He also told us we could make a check out to his girlfriend. The up charge is not listed on any brochure or on the website which makes me believe this was made up. I have a dog but, it's a Maltese with short hair and he doesn't shed or go in the car much. The cash only part I could understand that's not a big deal. However, with no receipt that's an issue. How do I know I paid for it? He did give us something but, it was handwritten. I wouldn't make a personal check to anyone, just a business sorry that is fishy to me. So, 1 star for that.
Overall: For double the price of most other detail places in the area it's was mediocre at best. The local Auto Bell charges about $120 total for that exact service. They do a little better job. If you are going to try this place, I would recommend just getting an outside wash. They will do a good job with that. However, this is also much cheaper elsewhere. I would not recommend a full service deluxe wash here. There was just too much not completed on the brochure list. After they have your money, they do not seem to care. Stick to your local places or people you trust. I would NOT recommend this service center for a deluxe detail wash. read more
