A good place to sojourn prior to a ride up Lolo Pass. It was clean and comfortable and the a/c worked effectively and quietly which was important on a hot summer evening. The room had a little mildew aroma. The toilet was not securely mounted to the floor. Upstairs neighbor awoke at 5:30 and their footsteps woke me. Breakfast was a cut above the usual fare. Been to this property for I'm not sure how many consecutive years. We ALWAYS make a point of staying at the Clearwater 12. The hospitality is exceptional! Ranai & her crew welcome us each time & they are motorcycle friendly. They've had a bucket of towels to wipe down the bikes during our visits. We have been coming here for years, many times a year. We always look forward to it. Everyone in town is so nice! Rooms are so nice and clean, affordable, breakfast is always delicious, parking is great, and we always feel very safe here. Staff is always so kind and accommodating. The manager Ranai is so wonderful to work with, always a smile on her face and she makes you feel very welcomed. she's a real gem. She's one of the reasons we always come back. You all would enjoy staying here. You can tell the owners care about their guests. This next comment is for the OWNERS: Hi, my husband and I stayed at your wonderful motel this past weekend. (8/10/2024) I'm not sure if you live in town or out of state, but I just wanted to bring to your attention that the lady who was working the front desk, I believe her name was Sheryl I feel she is not a good fit for your place . First of all she would not let us leave to go to our room, literally followed us outside and she just kept talking, which is fine I don't mind having a friendly conversation with folks but this just struck us odd. she was bad mouthing business's, (places we love to go here) Telling us not to go to these places! and making up stories about you guys. trying to get us to look at spread sheets of the rooms not being stayed in? on her office computer. Her conspiracy theories were way out there. which I wasn't asking to hear about. How she has 3 guns in every room in her house.( I mean that's fine, we own guns) but it was just odd, we just wanted to go to our room. Oh and so much more weird stuff. I finally walked away, I wasn't needing to hear all that. made me very uncomfortable. I know the rest of the staff promotes other businesses' and that's how it should be. She's doing harm behind your backs. I hope she's not doing it to other guests. they might not come back, so I thought I would bring this to your attention. We will always come back! Four motorcycle riders. Rolled into Kamiah (Kam - ee - I) on a HOT smokey evening. Ranai (sp?) was there to meet us at the front door. Check-in was a hassle - but we figured it out. Seems the reservation was incorrectly placed and the first/last names were swapped and it was not readily visible via the reservation system on the computer screen. Crisis averted - glad I glanced at the computer screen and called out the mistake. Otherwise we would be sleeping on the ground at the KOA. Ranai is a complete gem. She takes great pride in her little slice of heaven. She takes personal care to make sure the boarders are taken care of. Great recommendation of where to eat - Hotel Bar. Rooms were appointed sufficiently. Showers were hot. Plenty of towels. A/C worked great. Beds had fresh linens. It was a welcome rest spot after a full day of riding Harleys. Breakfast in the morning was ready on time as advertised (6 a.m.). She even offered me hand-picked boysenberries. Who does that? Oh - Ranai does. Biscuits and gravy were just what I needed. Clearwater is recommended. Make sure to book directly with the front desk. Expedia reservations may or may not be honored. And be sure to get some sort of confirmation of reservation - email, text, something you can have in your back pocket just in case. Ranai - you have a good thing going here. Keep up the good work. If we are ever back through Kamiah we will certainly be staying at the Clearwater. read more

Absolutely loved this place and not because of the great price we paid for a room! It was just a stop in the middle of no where, getting to where we were going on our vacation. From the moment we checked in, the employee was very friendly and welcoming. We get to our room and it was huge. Just outside each room there is a table to 2 chairs. We took advantage with having some wine, read our books and just relaxed. In the morning I sat outside and enjoyed the view of the hills. The hot breakfast was another great thing this place offered. The employee that helps with the breakfast was very helpful when my husband's had questions about the area. The only thing that people might have an issue with is that this place is right on the main road. While outside reading there is traffic noises but nothing that bothered us. I didn't notice the noise inside our room. In addition, there is no elevator to get to the second floor but we didn't have an issue with that. If ever in the area again, we will definitely be staying here again. read more

I was working in kooskia for the week and this is the hotel my work reserved. I wasn't expecting much but this was a great hotel to stay at I would for sure start here again if ever in the area. The lady in charge of the hotel, (can't remember her name is starts with an R) was great she was very kind and just seemed excited to have us which was nice. I reserved and paid for the full week since we were unsure of how long the job would take and she refund whatever nights we didn't stay. We switched to this hotel after the horrifying experience at the Kamiah Inn. This hotel was clean and as advertised! Staff polite and helpful. The Kamiah Inn was advertised as a kitchenette, but that is a miss representation, there was no way to cook, just a microwave and mini fridge which is standard in pretty much every hotel, not a kitchenette. Bedspread stained! They refused to refund so your money is stolen. read more

Clearwater 12 is the place to stay in Kamiah, ID. Orbitz Travel abandoned my wife and I, 600 miles and 12 hours away from our home on bogus reservations, reservations that Orbitz "confirmed" yet NEVER MADE. The manager at Clearwater 12 gave us the bad news, but in a human way, while Orbitz refused to find us a room anywhere else, the manager at Clearwater 12 offered us a room for the night, so we weren't stranded without a place to stay after a long day of travel. In this world of machines and computers and idiots from other lands who cannot and will not offer an ounce of compassion (ORBITZ TRAVEL SERVICES), the manager at Clearwater 12 gave us the human side we so desperately needed. Booked solid for a month, we were unable to find any other rooms within a 100 mile radius, we felt let down, abandoned and treated like trash by Orbitz Travel and the manager here at the Clearwater 12 gave us a ton of relief when she didn't really have to. Clearwater 12 is a extraordinarily clean and quiet place, an awesome and beautiful location and we were treated like people, instead of a number. Orbitz even TRIED TO BLAME THEIR STUPIDITY ON THIS WONDERFUL PLACE! Yet the blame falls squarely on Orbitz for our travel loss (we were forced to travel to Orofino for a funeral, and 2 special events had everything booked, but Orbitz still made fake reservations for us and we drove 12 hours and 600 miles with no real room), and while Orbitz hung up on me 5 times while "working on OUR situation", at least we had a place to stay with humanity reigning over the crappy digital age, so we could gather our wits and seek out an alternative to sleeping in a van by the river. If you're just passing through Kamiah, looking for a rest stop, or need a place close by Orofino or just want to spend a night along the river, please stop in the Clearwater 12! When we return to Orofino in the future, we'll stay here in Kamiah at the Clearwater 12, as a big thank you for being that beacon in the darkness created by a lousy, inept and dangerous company like Orbitz. Stay away from Orbitz Travel services for sure, but the Clearwater 12 is a must stay and a great place! read more

What a great stay that I have enjoyed here in Kamiah, at the Clearwater 12 Motel. I was graciously welcomed on the first night of my visit, and I rested so very well. So very quiet, and a friendly staff. I ate the FREE breakfast, on two of the four mornings that I stayed here, and pleasantly talked with Larry, the front deskman, as he re-stocked the food items in the kitchen/dining area. My room was very clean, with refrigerator, microwave oven, and a coffee machine. Everything in my room was in good working order. When I returned each day, my bed was made, and was provided clean & fresh towels. Many thanks to Management and Staff. Whenever I have occasion to return to this area, this is where I will stay. read more

There's not much around here so when it was 11pm and we were road-weary we took the recommendation of a local policeman and came here. The rate is reasonable, we got a huge room that was clean and well equipped. Bathroom fixtures were new and worked well. Great shower. Then to top it off, the free breakfast bar is great, hot items: eggs, sausage, waffles in addition to the standard cereals, muffins, bagels, juices and coffee. We stayed here for three nights in April 2015. We rented what they call a suite and received a very nice single apartment size room. Furnishings are nice, bed is comfy and there are plenty of towels and pillows. Room has a generously furnished kitchen (we didn't use it but it was there) and a full size coffee maker with plenty of coffee and sugar and cream. The staff cleans and makes the room smell nice daily and is nice to come back to. Great Wi-Fi. The only drawback is that AT&T does not work in this town at all however, this is not the hotels fault. We will stay here again for sure!!! read more

I stayed here last Saturday night, and found it adequate, but just. Everything in the room worked but was worn, and I feel the room could have been cleaner. The most important things (bathroom, beds, towels) were all clean, but there were dead bugs on the lampshades and around some areas that should have been receiving more frequent cleaning. read more

This is certainly an excellent motel, at a fair price, with amazingly friendly manager, front desk folks and the housecleaning staff. The rooms are large, well laid out and come with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and other amenities. The location is within a 2 minute walk to the river and the park that is right beside the river. There is a complimentary breakfast which we did take advantage of because of our eating style but other folks were chowing down and raving about it in the mornings. The beds were comfortable, the pillows were excellent. The towels were soft and absorbent. Water pressure in the shower was excellent. Wifi reception was great...able to stream from my Amazon account. Did not use the TV so cannot comment on that. We needed directions to a remote spot and the manager and her son were very helpful in giving us the correct directions, including a detour due to a road being washed out. Parking was plentiful even with a full house. There is a market and several places to eat within a two minute drive. Overall I wish I could give this place a ten star rating. read more

Booked based on reviews and location. The lady that checked us in was sweet and welcoming. The room (210) was very, very clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were also very good. Clean is my biggest concern when staying anywhere and this hotel did wonderful. Great location to enjoy the river and outdoors as well as easy walking to dinner. Would stay here again!
