The only reason I decided to go to Clearview Ophthalmology in the first place was because they accepted my insurance provider. I thought that the two positive reviews here on Yelp meant that it would go smoothly. It did not. First and foremost, the main eye doctor there has horrible hours. I arrived around 9:30 for my appointment (the earliest I could get - great for those of us who work regular hours) and the guy waltzes in around 10:30 or so. I don't think I saw him until 11:00 or 11:15, only to find out that he doesn't do contact lens prescriptions, only eye glasses. Now, this may have partially been my fault because when I originally called I assumed whoever I saw would be able to write me the prescription and therefore only asked for a routine eye exam. Still, nobody thought to ask me the reason for my visit during the hour and a half that I sat around waiting to see the doctor? Since the contact lens doctor was not in on that day, and I had already paid them for my visit, it was agreed that what I paid that day would go towards my next visit, when the correct doctor was in. I made an appointment for the following week. The next week, I receive a phone call a day or two before my appointment, confirming the day and time. Great! So today I walk back down there for the second time, and what does the receptionist tell me? The contact lens doctor isn't in today, even though she typically is in on Fridays. My response was, "Why didn't anybody think to call me and tell me this, before I walked all the way down here?" No response. I told the receptionist that I wanted my money back and that I was going somewhere else, to which she said the manager would have to do the refund and she's not in for another hour or so. When I called back I spoke to the manager and she told me that the charge would be refunded to my card that day or the next morning. Well, the next morning came and went and still no refund. When I tried to call (Saturday, 11:45am) I went through the prerecorded menu and eventually ended up at a message saying that they were closed. Well, they're website says they're open 10-1 on Saturdays sooo.... Who knows if I'll ever get my money back from these people. The point is, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE if at all possible. Avoid these idiots like the plague. read more

Clean waiting room and facilities; saw me within 30 minutes of my appointment time; kind and knowledgeable doctor. The only thing that sucked is the unhappiness of their staff. They were nice to me but it was apparent they are under paid and I can't give 5 stars to a business that might be taking advantage of their employees. read more

Very Nice practice and would definately recommend my friends and family. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I was there for a CL exam. The nurse did some testing and after few minutes I saw the doctor. The contacts they gave me were very comfortable. The doctoe explained everything and was very helpful. Clearview Clinic was Amazing. The office is modern, comfortable, and relaxing, and receptionist at the front desk are just as sweet as can be and Dr. Mian was excellent. Their glasses selection is decent, and I actually enjoyed trying on glasses with the front desk assistant who gave great feedback and helped me narrow down my choices. If you want a fast, friendly experience, head here...you won't regret it!. I recommend all my friends and family to go here. read more

The opthalmologist is very good, but his staff is the WORST. They are disrespectful in person and on the phone, either downright dishonest or unforgivably lazy about billing, and so disorganized that even getting records of your visit is time consuming and frustrating. I asked "are you accepting new patients" on my first phone call, to which they responded "of course, what do you want?". I chalked it up to New York brusqueness, but when I got to the office I understood... the front-desk staff were rude, nothing happened on time, and I felt like I had to fight to get their attention on me rather than on their personal conversations. Then they wrongly insisted on charging my medical insurance for a consult with the opthalmologist, something my vision insurance provider later told me would've been fully covered. Then, they either lied or were too lazy to determine that my national vision insurance provider (VSP) covers routine glasses exams in addition to contact exams, and tried to charge me out-of-pocket for a glasses exam. When my partner (covered by the *same plan* under VSP) went in, they told her the reverse and tried to charge her out-of-pocket for the contact exam. All of this happened after they encouraged us to come into the office, for which we made time in our schedules and made the trip over. Needless to say, we both knew it was B.S. and walked out rather than accepting their services. VSP's customer service was very helpful, assuring me everything was covered, and called them for me to clear it up. After THREE DAYS of waiting on hold with them each day (thank god it was them and not me), they phoned me back to say that I could proceed with my exams and that they would be fully covered. But when I called back to schedule a new appointment the person on the phone put me on hold for 30 minutes... and I'd had enough. I hung up, called back, and asked about getting my medical records (so I could make an eye appointment somewhere else), and was told that I'd have to wait until the doctor was in the following Monday. I was out of town that Monday, but they assured me the doctor would square things away and that I could come in any time after Monday to pick them up. When I got back into town, they told me I'd have to wait until Friday to pick them up, because the only person capable of releasing records only works on Fridays (what the heck??). Steer clear of these idiots. And to the doctor, if you should read this, GET SOME NEW STAFF. I really enjoyed our consult and would love to recommend you, but if you can't see fit to get rid of the people scaring off your patients then you probably shouldn't be in a private practice. read more

Horrible customer service. Though the employees are nice, I've experienced hold times on the phone of over 20 minutes and haven't been called back when I told I would be. They have limited times of being open making it extremely difficult to accommodate to the schedule of a working person. I would never recommend them. read more

I was very pleased with my experience here! The staff was very friendly and informative. Dr Mian performed a very thorough exam, informing me of everything along the way. Although this office has received a bad review, I do not agree. I was met with kindness, and I had a relatively short wait compared to the amount of patients that were in the waiting room. Even though there were so many patients, Dr Mian did not rush through any part of my exam. All in all, they were very professional and this was a great experience. read more

I came to try it out here because it is close by where I live. And I completely regretted it :( the doctor who saw me was very nice and professional, I just had a hard time with the receptionist. When I walked in, the receptionists were talking to each other, not knowing I was there. I introduced myself and told them the reason for my visit, then I got this cold finger pointing to a chair, as the receptionist told me "have a seat there" without making eye contact with me, and then went back to her gossip. Uh-hum! I'm your customer, I pay you to be here, don't I deserve a smile or a greeting?? Is it so hard to acknowledge your customer's existence? Aside from the whole service provider- customer relationship, isn't it just standard mannerism to address the person you are talking to with respect? Even though my experience with the doctor was rather okay, my experience with the receptionist really got my day off on a bad start:( For a business who does not hire the right people to keep the front door open, I give it a 2 star! read more
