Back again today for some more physical therapy! Jennifer is so amazing. Today, she asked how I was…read moredoing before our session. I can't say enough about this facility. I had my initial eval done by Dr. McDowell and Dr. Lipsky…read moretreated me. I ended up here after a very concerning visit to my OB's office. They told me my OB wasn't doing well women's exams anymore and that I was scheduled with his NP. I was okay with this but I also explained that he was supposed to be checking my diastasis recti, as he told me that he liked to evaluate in 6 months. They assured me she could do it. At my appointment, she pushed down on my abdomen and said "well, do you feel different?" And I explained yes, but that I honestly haven't had that little muscle in years. (Prior bikini body building competitor ... Not to mention I just had a baby - my organs were moved around for how many months AND I had an unexpected urgent c section.) She advised me to go home and "do ab exercises again, if it hurts, we know there is something wrong". As a prior personal trainer I ran out of that office and called as soon as I did, asking for a referral out. I was pretty appalled by this advice from a medical professional. It's OKAY if you don't know- but to tell someone to do something that can further damage is highly concerning. Anyway- I did some research and asked to specifically get a referral here. And I will say, this facility provided me with much more help than I knew they would! My friend told me about pelvic floor therapy, as it's big in California, and she highly suggested it. They guided me to correct my diastasis recti, taught me scar massage , scar rolling & did some cupping. This was life changing, as it made my scar 90% free of the numbness I was having. They also helped me with a couple other more personal things. Dr Lipsky was really great. Everyone in the office is very nice and professional. I tell everyone about pelvic floor therapy and about this facility. It's extremely sad to me that this isn't standard postpartum care, that no one talks about it- so many women don't know about it. But I am absolutely spreading the word because just because something is "common" doesn't mean it's "normal" or something we have to "just live with!" Thank you so much!

I was provided with free group counseling on a weekly basis for about two years. The group was…read morespecifically focused on a type of trauma I survived as a child. The group members, leader and curriculum helped me understand so much about my family dynamics and how the abuse was allowed to continue for a decade. I have fewer nightmares. I have developed the courage to distance myself from certain family members, to set boundaries and enforce them, to release feelings of shame and guilt I'd been carrying (unknowingly) since age 4 or so. The process took a lot of work, time and heartache, but I am much happier now than I've ever been. I have an indescribable sense of freedom now that I've released the feeling of 'owing' people for allowing me to live. During the time I was attending classes here, I was also heavily involved with Codependents Anonymous. I highly recommend that group in tandem.

I encourage anyone to learn and go visit to join in on a group where everything is PRIVATE, and no pressure to speak along with individual counseling .
