    Called about a water leak. Was told to submit $800 deposit. Workers would come following day. (June…read more12,2026). Owner called and said bill could be higher if detection needed. Said bill would include travel from Gallup to Grants and back. Should've listened to alarm bells. Workers arrived at 10am next day. I showed them the wet spot next to home. No detection required. They dug down to leak. Workers didn't have repair parts/pipe. Workers said the if local hardware didn't have parts they would have to return to Gallup and get parts there and I should put water in tubs or something. I asked them to check local shop. They left and returned half hour later. The workers went to leak and realized they purchased wrong size pipe and had to go back to store. More red flags!! They were in a large plumbing service vehicle and should've had parts in my opinion. Anyway, they repaired the leak and started refilling the hole. I told them to stop and I would finish filling the hole. They had me sign that they'd done the job. I asked for an invoice and they said one would be emailed to me. Saturday passed. No invoice. I sent an email today to the shop asking about the invoice. Minutes later I get a call from the owner, berating me for asking for an invoice. Red flag!! Owner said he called because he thinks I was wrong for asking for invoice. He was quite nasty. He informed me that he was working on the invoice and that it wouldn't be a detailed invoice!!! Red flag!! I protested that I should get an itemized invoice. His reply was "you got running water right?". The owner is not honorable and that was not the correct way to treat a paying customer. I am a 20 year retired US Army 100% disabled veteran. I expect to be treated better than this. I would not treat anyone that way. So, I got an email with the non-itemized invoice. The cost had been upcharged to $1551.17!!!! Without itemization on the invoice how do I know if it was legitimate. Do not ... I repeat .... do not use this business. The owner and the business are not on the level. I will provide a copy of the invoice so you can see what I am saying. I paid the bill, but wish I had gone somewhere else. Should've listened to my own warning bells. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE...if the business doesn't offer an itemized bill or invoice, don't use them. What was material cost? What was labor cost? What was mileage costs?
