Woodward's Ace on Tustin Ave has always been one of our go to hardware stores for a loooong time. They are well stocked, clean. organized, have fresh free popcorn, great knowledgeable staff, and a parrot even oh my! And if you accidentally knock a kernel of popcorn on the floor, a kind employee will sweep it up faster than you can pick it up. Customer service rivals Disneyland. In this place you'll find yourself with new ideas and projects popping up in your mind on every isle you walk down. It's like an AMAZON Hardware Store in real life right in front of your eyes and everything is right there on the shelf ready to buy with no waiting. If your arms fill up with new project solutions and you forgot what you actually came in for, you can ask anyone in the store if they have the item and they'll walk you right over to where the item is, because they have it, you just didn't see it. They have the things the other places do, plus the things the other places don't. It's like the hardware store from the 60's. A real one. I needed a few things at the Depot last night they didn't have and this place had them in stock just hanging there waiting for me, plus a few extra things that caught my eye as well. EDIT: They don't have refrigerators, washer or dryers like a department store. They don't have doors, widows or lumber like a lumber supply. They don't have carpet and flooring like a floor store. They have springs, tools, wheels, rope, wire, nuts & bolts small and larger then 1/2" like bulldozer size. They have piano hinges that you can weld onto a 1/4" steel lid. They have stuff like a HARDWARE STORE is supposed to.

I purchased a Torx bit which I was told was "hardened". I was told it would not round off. The tool lasted about 2 seconds before rounding off. I took the tool back to MD with my receipt. I was told essentially they would not refund or return or replace the tool. MD's customer service is a poor example of standing behind a product. I ended up buying a bit from Harbor Freight which removed the bolt quickly. Not a good look for McFadden Dale.

Needed some roundup for clearing out some stubborn weeds in my backyard…read more Stopped by Crown Ace Hardware in Anaheim Hills to pick it up. Ended up buying roundup in a Hudson sprayer type of bottle with a pump and spray nozzle. Along with a refill concentrate bottle of Ace brand weed killer to add some of to the roundup making a higher concentration solution. I've been shopping here for over 25 years, before they opened this location they used to be located off Santa Ana canyon, west of weir canyon in the festival center. Good prices, knowledgeable staff, and fairly large selection. I'll be back.

They sat there with me trying a bunch of different bits until the screws finally decided to cooperate. And even after 20 plus minutes of messing around with the damn thing, they were going to offer me a deal for the bit for my broke ass. I said "no way" and called up a friend to borrow a few bucks cause these people deserve every penny and then some. I'll be coming here any time I need anything hardware related. Could not recommend enough.

So much more than a hardware store! Basically anything you need if it be shabby chic, vintage, or distressed, then this is the most likely place to find the repair parts. This store seems like it's been here forever, I've been to the store for the past 30 years. It never comes to mind until I have some project I'm working on or somebody needs something that they just can't find anywhere! The price are reasonable too, mainly because you'll be driving all over the place looking for that item come on when you find it. The value of it can be priceless. I found old antique locks, centuries, old, skeleton keys, uranium glass, dresser knobs, There's always something interesting in the store that you didn't realize you needed!

So either their pricing is way out of line or they took advantage. Either way, I'll probably not be back.

Greeted at the door at Woodward's, quickly directed to the key counter where help was waiting. Clean, well stocked, air conditioned and lighted, easy in/out parking too. SAH felt dusty, hot and dark inside. Waited at the front counter for a bit til an employee greeted me. Nice and knowledgeable but SAH did not have the key blank either. Ended up at A-Abbott Locksmith in Orange who was able to cut me a new key.
