I've been going here for a few years and I've never been dissatisfied with their work, they sometimes take a bit longer but their work is quality. Yesterday I went in for a cut, which came out great as usual. However, the guy cutting my hair was on his phone the entire time. It seemed like every few minutes I'd hear his phone go off and he'd go over to check it. I get being connected to your phone, but when you've got a customer, it's not the time nor the place. I will be back because these guys do fantastic work for a great price but I think customer service is something that needs to addressed with this particular barber.

The guy (and his friend) laughed, thanked me and happily so I searched his phone for the barbers contact. I got a pen, yes an actual pen like back in the days and wrote down the barbers Instagram page. My second visit to The Barbers Edge in Beverly, Massachusetts…read more Master Barber Horrell was able to fit me in after a short wait, as I had missed my appointment. I received another excellent cut. I was already hooked on this shop after one visit and am now committed. Two additional points of interest: FIRST: In my previous review I had mentioned some of the unexpected criticisms I found on Booksy and Yelp, which needn't be repeated here but had to do with inappropriate language and conduct in the shop during Master Horrell's absence. I had stated in my review that I hoped he would address these issues. Today, I learned that he had. As well as other employee adjustments, the most flagrant offender was dismissed. This is what I had hoped and expected he would do and I was glad to hear that he had done the right things. SECOND: When I arrived at The Barbers Edge today a man was in Horrell's chair, receiving a clean-shaven, close-cut that was almost finished. I subsequently learned that the man was homeless. On a hunch, based upon my character assessment of Horrell, I asked if the man had paid or if Horrell had "hooked him up." Not to my surprise, Master Horrell had given the man the haircut without charge. Need I say more? I recommend that you try The Barbers Edge and if something is not right; then tell Master Horrell and he will make it so.

I was in the chair in under an hour. It was a really relaxed vibe, good conversation which is lost on other barbers, and really good attention to detail. I got the haircut, beard trim, and hot towel with a straight razor line up and even touched up my eyebrows. It was $45 but I gave $60 for the cut and tip. I only get a haircut once a month and it's well worth it.
