Before our reservation, we spent some time in the lounge enjoying live music and really great drinks. The bartender was fantastic too! Once we were seated, there was a bit of a wait before our server came by, but we started with a bread basket and a couple of appetizers, which were all delicious. For my main, I ordered the steak and really enjoyed it. The sides weren't my favorite, but overall the meal was very satisfying. We were celebrating a birthday, and the complimentary dessert was a lovely touch. Even more thoughtful was the signed birthday card from the staff!

Our first order of drinks took forever. It wasn't even a busy night yet they just seemed to have forgotten about us. Then we ordered the Savory Source S'mores to share as a starter. This also took forever and when it finally arrived it was the dessert smores (honest and easy mistake). We waited another long while for our savory smores and when it finally arrived the presentation was top notch. It was truly an ambience experience - however - that's where the goodness ended. The gas flavors from the torch immediately over-powered anything you put over it, and sadly, the ingredients weren't that tasty otherwise. Each of us choked down a cold "smore" and agreed that some things were better to just look at than indulge in. We pivoted and opted to go elsewhere for dinner. The truth is we'll be back because this resort is amazing, just hoping next time maybe this spot will offer a better experience aligned with the price.

There were few but good reviews for this restaurant so we decided to try it out…read more In addition to their à la carte menu, they also have unlimited rodizio which we didn't get because we had 5 kids under 12 years old (three 5 year olds and two 10 year olds) with us which would've been $17.50 (half adult price) per child. The ambiance was cute. I liked how the walls had a lot of art and it was colorful. I cannot say anything good about our experience. We arrived when the restaurant was mostly empty. Most customers seemed to know the owners and were greeted happily with hugs and kisses. It was very difficult to get service and took about 50-55 min to get our food after ordering with no updates or apologies. We ordered 2 of the moqueca which was similar to an instant Thai yellow curry with about 2 pieces of fish, 2 shrimp, a couple small scallop, and veggies for $30.50 which seemed steep for what we got. It also came with a side of rice. I am not sure if this is an authentic Brazilian dish. We got 2 churrasco especials and they both were well done when we asked for medium rare and very tough to cut. We also got the filet mignon with Madeira sauce and French fries which was definitely not filet mignon. There was a significant amount of tendon and connective tissue and so overcooked the meat was curled up. The last dish we ordered was the garlic aioli shrimp which was just garlic shrimp and not served with any aioli. They actually forgot to make this dish and we got it after we reminded them towards the end of our meal. I think if you get the rodizio it's very fast with the sides from their buffet bar and they come out with the meats fairly quickly. People who had rodizio and arrived after us also left before we were served any food. A lot of common items were sold out like the cheese bread, sparkling water, and beef with caramelized onions but we weren't notified before selecting so had to go through the menu again to pick other dishes. I could've complained but it was hard to get the server's attention or any honest answers. Like "it'll be out soon" and after saying that, he came to confirm what we ordered for the 4th time 40 min after ordering and still no food. It was incredibly hot because it was a sunny day and the front of the restaurant turned into a sauna. We could not wait to leave as soon as possible. Overall, bad service, bad food, high prices, and extremely long wait times without any notice or warning. Will not be going back.

I had high hopes for Obutekim - an a la carte version of Brazilian BBQ, instead of AYCE. We have no self-control, so this is much better for portion control. Service was sufficient, not particularly attentive. They were busy chatting with folks at a table behind us (people they seem to know). We waved for water refills, etc. The food was a mixed bag of hits-and-miss resulting in a grumpy hubby. (We went to Fogo the next weekend to make up for it.) The Food: Beef with Madeira Wine Sauce and French Fries, $27 - 3.5 Stars Menu: Sautéed Filét Mignon with mushrooms, garlic, onions, parsley, creamy roti sauce, flambéed with Madeira wine. Served with French fries. This dish tasted pretty good with the light wine sauce, many mushrooms, and very crispy fries. The beef chunks tasted mostly good with mostly tender pieces. However, my dish (see photo) doesn't look like their online photo, which is a richer variant visually closer to what a beef bourguignon looks like. I think I missed out on whatever this dish is intended to be. Their pieces of beef are randomly cut in different sizes and shape, irregular and random. My mediocre knife skills can cut more uniform pieces of beef than they did. I like this dish enough but also not hitting the bar. Fried Banana Side, $8.50 - 4 Stars Menu: Banana empanada e Frita (Breaded and Fried Bananas) These fried bananas are under the Sides in the menu. We received unbreaded fried plantains, which is fine with us since we like fried plantains. Their online menu says breaded and fried bananas, and the photo is completely different. I don't know what this dish is supposed to be. Brazilian Churrasco, $27 - 2 Stars Menu: Choice of Beef Coulotte, Garlic Sirloin and Pork Sausage. Served with jasmine rice, Brazilian style black beans (containing smoked pork sausage), potato salad, and farofa. Choice of any meat. This dish should be amongst their signature dishes. Hubby chose their two beef options: beef coulotte and garlic sirloin. See photo. The tiny piece is the garlic sirloin, which is garlicky but a bit tough. The two bigger ones are beef coulottes which have little flavor (seasonings), both are tough, with thick trims of fat. He said "2 out of 5 stars" with a grumpy face. I fed him some of my food to make him feel better.

Self-serve was easy---make your salad and weigh it at the register. My large tray salad (see pic) was $17.21. It was two meals worth! The ingredients were all very fresh with a few spectacular choices--crumbled blue cheese, artichoke hearts, diced red pepper, cubed ham, roasted chicken, hard-boiled eggs, pickled beets, Kalamata olives, and sweet pickle chips. I love blue cheese dressing, especially when I can choose the amount. Dilly's is a little diluted and lacks garlic, but the crumbled blue cheese made it all work. Also, salt and pepper was needed--if it was there, I didn't see any. But hey, this is the most complete salad bar I've seen in Wenatchee. I also took home a Tuna-Tuna sandwich for Sherrie--she loved it. I think we're hooked! There's a loyalty program--1 Star for every $10 spent, and 50% off next purchase after 10 Stars. (Yes, sales tax is included in the calculation) What's not to like?!?!

People were quick to flip and move tables so prime outdoor seating was clean and available. Our sandwiches were at least as good while the chicken parm dip was even better than we've had at other locations. It's hard to review an old friend!…read more Since returning to Wenatchee three years ago, we have cycled around to most of the haunts we frequented 15 years ago, mostly restaurants where we had made friends with the wait-staff and owners as well. Sadly, many of them have moved on. But some still remain, and encountering them again is exhilarating. I always look forward to the hugs and squealing laughter.--"...where did you go and what have you done...? We've missed you!" McGlinn's Alehouse is the place we spent most of our time for the first five years of our marriage. It was originally the Orondo Tavern, built in 1922 as a solid brick two-story commercial building in the small town rural American style--big, open storefront windows on the ground floor, and small offices and apartments on the second, with tiny windows surrounded in iron bar planters. Such buildings have long narrow internal staircases up the right side entrance--one you'd never access unless to lived in one of those vaults upstairs. I finally returned to McGlinn's tonight. I had been meaning to, long before this, but there was never any parking in front --many restaurants now have covered sidewalk-cabanas out front--a code violation waved during the COVID pandemic. Inside, the left wall is still that half-block-long cabinet of all the liquor bottles you can imagine, multiplied in depth by the mirrors behind them. Down the middle of the room is one long continuous table that seats 14 people on a side--yes, strangers sit together. At the very back wall there is still, the largest brick open-hearth wood-burning oven you'd ever bake a leg of lamb and two pizzas in, at the same time. And down the right side-wall were six wooden tables-of-four, all sealed in a hard resin clear coat, as shiny and clean as they were vintage and rustic. I sat in the first chair at the first table, my back to the stairway down to bathrooms in the basement below the sidewalk. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tim's chips, a departure from the "John Paul Bacon Burger with pickled onions (McGlinn's is famous for). Ask to sit in Sadie's section--she's been there 20 years. McGlinn's has been there 34 years! What's not to like about an old friend! -------== ##### ==-------
