What a magical toy shop! I hadn't been here since my grandparents brought me decades ago and it was such a treat to peruse the aisles as an adult. They had Buffalo gifts, and live frogs, and little items, and crafts, and the games were outstanding. There were puppets and baby toys and outdoor toys. This is truly a fantastic toy store and it is local. I will be coming back here for Christmas shopping and for my friends' kids gifts. Anything your little ones' imaginations could want is here. As an adult, they have trains for dominoes and an entire wall of games that were pretty awesome. Check this place out and you'll be picking up items for yourself and a child. Very rude staff. I went in to purchase sonny angles and let me tell you the group of elderly women working were very passive aggressive and judgmental, they even laughed at me. They asked if I needed help finding something and when I said sonny angels they became very demeaning and even said "who said we had those". Just very rude for no reason. I will not be coming back. Claytons Toys is a great store. Friendly employees who really know their stuff. When you walk in you'll be greeted quickly, and offered assistance if you desire it. Otherwise they'll leave you to browse the MANY wonderful things there are to find. They always help me find the perfect gift for whoever it is I'm shopping for. And bonus!! They gift wrap for free! My children are grown now but I have friends with kids and my husband has grandchildren so I like to keep things around to occupy the little ones who come over. So I procured a large trunk that I keep on the landing at the top of the stairs in my home. I call it "The Grandma Trunk" and it has all kinds of stuff in it like various hats (firefighter, safari, cowboy...) to play pretend, sturdy handheld masks of various animals/characters, books, puzzles, tabletop foosball, crafts, temporary tattoos, coloring books, activity books, crayons.... all sorts of things. When I heard that Clayton's, a family owned Toy Store in Williamsville, was still open and accepting orders for drive up and delivery options, I figured I had to support them. They sent me pictures of several 500 piece jigsaw puzzles that they had on their shelves and I chose one with puppies and kitties! (I wanted something that would spark happiness) Paid for the item over the phone and once I arrived to pick it up , I called them and popped my trunk, and promptly, a friendly employee came out to my car and placed it in my automobile . They even gave me a "neighborly " discount (since I work close by) of 10% off! I am discovering puzzles might not be my calling as I don't have a ton of patience, so maybe next time I'll get a 300 piece (of course from Clayton's because they have 5 star customer service!) read more

Great toy store! This is the perfect place to go when shopping for kids that have everything. There are plenty of unique gifts and toys that spark imagination and help with skill-building. My kids were drawn to the sticker rack where you select the number of sheets of stickers you want to buy (fun selection and good prices). I'll keep this in mind for party giftbags. This place is super cute! I ran in to find a present for my nephew as I came in from out of state and left his original gift back home. They have a large selection of goodies here! Clayton's is easily of my favorite stores in WNY. I had been by Clayton's several times in the past, but went in for the first time after my son received a gift certificate a couple years ago. I could seriously spend hours in this place. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful (you can tell they truly love what they do), and the store is well organized and stocked with things for anyone and everyone. My toddler has enjoyed picking out some small toys and books for himself during our visits. The staff was wonderful with letting him explore different toys before making his selection. I've returned a few times to get gift certificates, so others can also enjoy Clayton's. Each person has let me know after what a fantastic experience they had visiting the store! If you're getting something as a gift, they offer complimentary gift wrap. Gift certificates also do not have an expiration date. I can't recommend Clayton's enough! read more

Wonderful toy store. I'm very glad that "mom and pop" stores exist, and this is indeed a special place. I would happily give this place 5 stars, but I'm quite disappointed by their anti-shoplifting techniques used by their employees. I entered the store with my three children (two are already adults). An employee "lurked" at every corner. While I understand that theft occurs, and it's sad that they have to do this, it certainly is a disconcerting personal experience. I'm addition, my 20 yr old daughter had been frequenting this store before, more than she should have during Covid, and also noted that employees annoyingly "lurk". I noticed that one reviewer said that "employees leave you alone so you can shop". Did an employee leave this review?!? That wasn't my experience! I carefully mull over choices and would relish a shopping experience where I can slowly look at options. As a teen/young adult, I also worked in a family owned business, and I was told to follow customers to discourage shoplifting. I could tell you, I wasn't smart enough to catch anyone, so I never saw anyone steal, but merchandise certainly disappeared! It's amazing what walked off the shelves. And I definitely angered people who were shopping, being a type of bully with my "I'm watching you" stance. I suppose what I experienced at Clayton's was some type of 'karmic feedback' for what I did, lol. Either which way, my daughter and I agree that these experiences definitely curtail any impulsive shopping sprees that we might otherwise engage in- which I suppose is good for our bank accounts! Trying hard to shop local. I suppose that the best way to do this is to shop Fat Brain Toys and then see if Clayton's carries it for a quick pick up. Still love this store, though. read more

I would line my entire bed with stuffed animals every night and if I accidentally knocked any on to the floor during my sleep, I felt bad for them. Haha! Clayton's tickled my inner kid today. After spending this cold, rainy pre-Christmas afternoon traipsing around the village, I went into Clayton's to find my brother a very specific toy for Christmas. He's damn near 30, but we like to get each other fun things sometimes. I found a variety of what I was in search of and the one I picked was PERFECT. I freaking love everything in here. From the hundreds of stuffed animals (my favorites next to Barbies, which they don't sell here) to the array of sticker spools (another favorite of mine!) to all of the cool toy kits, it's all fun! Even if you don't have a kid to buy anything for, come in here and find something for your inner child. Trust me, they have it. Clayton's is the answer to the overwhelming Target toy section. Here, you can find unique toys, and toys that won't haunt you with creepy voices as they run out of batteries. The window reminds me of every toy store described in fiction books for children... you can't help but smile when you pull up. The staff was also very helpful when my son was looking for a more standard "Avengers" themed toy to use a gift card for, and helped him find some stuffed heroes that are now among his best stuffed friends. The parking lot is not ideal. Coupled with the very popular Break N' Eggs, it is hard to find a spot, and challenging to maneuver out of if you end up in the front. I am up for the challenge though, especially if it means I can support local business rather than Amazon. read more

The uncluttered shop is well organized and well staffed, although no one particularly greeted us until we ventured towards the very back of the store, some time into our visit. That was okay, we knew each other were there. Understand however, the feel is that this is a decidedly upscale toy shop, don't get the idea you're going to trapse in there with your cheaper-by-the-dozen brood. Yes, I am an adult man with no children or young relatives who frequents a toy store. I go to Clayton's to buy fake mustaches (to cover up my real mustache) and fancy hats that look like cheeseburgers. I do this because I am an adult, and I can finally buy all the toys I want-- all the toys that were prohibitively expensive to me as a child now seem very cheap. I'm an adult, and I can buy that ant farm if I want it. I'm pretty sure that the staff members all think I'm a real creep, but I appreciate them not making me feel that way. I've driven by Clayton's many times, but had not stopped in until recently. What an awesome toy store! They have a little bit of everything from educational to arts/crafts to dolls and trucks. I was shopping for a 2 year old boy and wasn't exactly sure what to get him. The young woman working behind the counter immediately came over to me and offered to help out. She showed me a number of options and was really great to work with. After I selected a gift, I went to the register and discovered that they offered free gift wrapping! They did a great job of making the gift look perfect for the birthday boy. I'm a huge fan of Clayton's and will be back for many future gift purchases. Not only do they have a great selection, but also a number of things that you wouldn't find in big box stores such as Target, Walmart, or Toys R Us. They have a wide selection of all kinds of toys that are not in your average Dept. Store / Toy R Us. You will not find ANYTHING from Monster High, which i loath. I also am horrible as guessing what children like and I my present wrapping skills are poor at best. I can stop here on the way to the party, tell an employee the age and boy/girl, and they will start the recommendations AND wrap in for you. That have toys in all price ranges and a great selection. absolutely love this toy store! the owner and workers are beyond friendly and helpful, with not only helping me find what i need, giving suggestions, etc, but also with my kids-- sorta entertaining them while i shop. they have a train table they can play with and a little table by the books with legos or blocks maybe? i can't recall what it was. there are lots of little things they can occupy themselves with there. at checkout they can pick a little grab bag type toy and will usually end up with a free balloon too. the toys and options there are AMAZING too. it's like a little piece of amazon.com there or something. all stuff i like and buy. you will find nothing you can find at toys r us or target (PHEW!). it's a GEM!!! i try and go there anytime i need to pick up a gift for a little one. read more
