My favorite memory of Denise is when I told her I would have to abandon the property as it poured water through the ceiling inside after the hurricane and she told me to "leave the fridge open" so there wouldn't be a smell. Carolina Cottages is a horrid and unethical company to rent from. After having similar experiences…read moreas other reviews (check out the filtered reviews). We had to sue this company to get our lease deposit back. They showed up in small claims court with a lawyer and tried to put forth the argument that we didn't have a lease with them. Needless to say we won a judgement, but in their infinite wisdom, Carolina Cottages has chosen to appeal the judgement. So instead of doing the right thing, paying a client what is owed, they are choosing to pay an attorney to drag this thing out even further. Now I potentially need an attorney of my own to defend my judgement. So I probably sound like a frustrated ex tenant - you bet I am. This company "lost" our walk through information, would not negotiate or even consider accepting our pre-move in pictures as proof of existing damages, and had the audacity to blame it all on the owner who lives out of the country. Bottom line is that Carolina Cottages should be avoided at all costs. By the way - the first five star review for them is questionable - 5 stars from Lee. L? For the record, the registered agent of Carolina Cottages, LLC. is A. Lee Linhart.
