I see some favorable reviews for cat grooming but the most recent is over a year ago. Do they still do cats?

Yes

Is Tammy still there?

We used Grooming and Go's mobile grooming service for the second time and unfortunately had a very…read moreserious experience. Within 1-2 days after the grooming, my dog developed a severe skin infection across his body, including multiple large open wounds (tail, hind leg, side, head, and both ears). We took him to the vet immediately, and based on the timeline and type of infection, we were told it was most consistent with contamination from dirty grooming tools, specifically clippers. When I reached out to the groomer, instead of taking any accountability or even showing concern, they denied responsibility. They stated that their equipment is cleaned daily and emphasized that they groom multiple dogs per day without issues. I find that hard to believe after reading other reviews. They also dismissed the veterinarian's input entirely, saying that vets "always blame groomers." To be clear, cleaning tools once at the end of the day is not acceptable. Proper grooming hygiene requires disinfecting tools between each dog. Their own messages confirm that is not their standard practice. We have never had anything like this happen with any other groomer, ever. This has been extremely stressful, painful for our dog, and costly in vet care. The lack of accountability and the immediate deflection of blame onto the vet was incredibly disheartening. We will not be using them again, and I strongly urge others to ask detailed questions about sanitation practices before trusting any groomer with your pet.

We are so happy to have found Grateful Pups Pet Salon. The shop is clean, kind, skilled, and…read moreefficient. My beautiful pup has only been home with us for 5 days. Saying the bath I gave her was a disaster is a huge understatement. Professional help was needed. My girl is very skittish and shy so I was worried about grooming being traumatic but this girl need a good bath, nails, and clean ears. I didn't have much luck checking Yelp for a groomer so I called the vet's office for a recommendation. They said Barbi was the vet's cousin and they trust her completely. I called Grateful Pups and they said to come on over. We were warmly greeted by Barbi and her husband. I immediately felt comfortable. The store is open and you can see into the back where they bathe the dogs. Barbi could see I was more nervous than the dog and she assured both of us. Her husband took dog to the back for her bath. I heard some splashing around but was sure dog was in good hands. Lola (aka dog) did not tolerate the dryer and no Dremmel nail tool was happening so Barbi switched to manual nail clippers. Barbi and her husband are so kind. Really made what could have been a stressful experience wonderful. I cannot recommend this business highly enough. Mom and Pop shop, please support them. Cost was $35.00 for bath, nails, and ears. On the way in we saw a floof-poodle looking marvelous. Barbi told me she has 30 years of experience and has won competitions for grooming.

From the moment I walked in, the environment felt calm, clean, and welcoming... almost like being at home. What really stood out to me was how much care and attention Barbie gave to my dogs. She took the time to meet them and get acquainted beforehand, even offering to do so prior to scheduling the grooming appointment to make sure they'd be comfortable. That level of thoughtfulness meant a lot. She also carefully reviewed their medical history and made sure to avoid anything that could potentially harm them or make them uncomfortable. It's clear she prioritizes the well-being of the pets above everything else. I couldn't be happier with the experience, and I will absolutely be recommending Grateful Pup to anyone looking for a caring and professional groomer!
