This place has changed its name to Excellent Nails and it's honestly far from excellent. I just wanted to get my gel nails off and was told it would cost $10 over the phone, but she ended up charging me $20 bc there was some gel art on a few of my nails. I felt pretty scammed bc I only came here versus another place bc other locations charged $15. She also applied some clear nail polish for me which I didn't need, saying she wasn't going to charge me extra and that it'd be good for my nails since they can get painful but then charged me double the quoted amount saying it was hard to take my gel nails off... I mean, would she charge more if your feet stinks or your nails are shaped weird? It's a really poor way to do business to charge a new amount depending on an unfair evaluation of difficulty on her end. I was planning to tip her generously but was thrown off by her last minute scam and didn't want to argue/create a fuss as I had to head out. The place was also extremely hot, no AC or fan and I had to wait 10min beyond my appointment time despite coming early. It's also not that clean or organized. I didn't get mani or pedi here but would really suggest selecting another spot for a quality experience, especially given she has comparable rates as much nicer nail salons in the area. The lack of transparency in pricing was a huge turn off and I'll never be back here. I would strongly not recommend. read more

This place is easy to miss and may not look all that luxurious but trust me my experience was worth five stars. There was a little drama between a customer and Tracey when I walked in and I was going to deduct a star, but then I saw how graciously Tracey handled things. So happy I found this place! I'm from LA and am very picky about my nails. I had acrylics on from back home and was looking for a place to remove them and do a gel mani. I went and they have their own parking lot so I didn't have to struggle for parking on the street! I walked in and was the only one, she said they had 2 other girls coming in soon with appointments and they still took me. They immediately got to work and started my toes and removing my acrylics. Everything was super clean and so many colors to choose from...I went with OPI everything. Super nice, and good conversation. I told her what design I wanted and she knew exactly how to do it. The other girls came in, so there was a total of 3 customers and 2 employees. They didn't rush on me and took really good care and patience. Eventually everything was done and beautifully! I'm definitely coming back here when I visit San Carlos again! Super happy with my decision to go here! read more

I went back after my pedicure to get a manicure and it's been almost a week and they still look great! This is regular mail polish too! Bought a groupon for a shellac manicure, I've been getting shellac now for a few months and the process is lengthy but worth it, usually. I made an appointment for 415, and showed up at 355. There were two women receiving manicures and pedicures by the only two women working the salon. I wait until about 420 and they ask to wrap up my nails, I take a seat and she wraps my fingers in the foil, acetone, and cotton. After she finishes she starts to take off the foil where she started, they weren't ready at all. So she re-wrapped what she couldn't get off. The manicure consisted of, plain water in a little bowl - soak, cuticle remover and scrape with nippers, not a cuticle remover just straight out nipping away and scraping my cuticle. I then got the underneath of one hand cleaned, she then works on the other. Skips cleaning under those nails. By this time she has told me that I have to pay 5 dollars for them to take my shellac off, which makes no sense to me, but whatever. I then see the other lady still working on the same ladies manicure, full on massage. Shoulder neck hands and arms. When they're done painting my nails I paid, and waited for my massage. It never came, which makes me sad. Because that was the one best thing about getting a manicure was a massage. I probably won't be back, and I will probably be sharing my review with groupon to let them know my experience. I was out of there with a French manicure at 453. I'm totally jealous of all the other ladies yelps, because I was looking forward to this. read more

I had a groupon for a mani pedi and I made an appointment. It is located off the road and their parking lot was being resurfaced and getting new lines, thus the parking lot was closed. I managed to find street parking with a 2 hour limit. It began with a wonderfully warm foot soaking in a plastic lined basin with rose pedals and orange slices added to the water. It smelled fabulous. Then Tracy did a great job for the pedicure uncluding a sugar rub, a warm stone rub and a lotion rub. All three I would have wanted to last longer but I was really there for a mani pedi. Tracy did a great job of trimming my cuticles, which I really like trimmed. She really scrubbed my heels which were in dire need of a scrubbing. She helped me pick out the colors which ended up being just what I liked. While the polish on my toes were drying I got a manicure. Tracy, again, did a great job with cutting, cuticles and polishing. The store is off the road and has a shared private parking lot. The store is small neat and clean and very functionable for the services offered. The tv was constantly on for anyone to watch. Tracy is the owner of this one month old business and did a very good mani pedi for me. She was very pleasant and offered me some water or soda after it was finished. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend Tracy and Classy Nails to everyone. read more

Today was my first time at Classy Nail and wont me my last......The salon honors both walk-in and appointments. This high focus on customer services appears to be a concerted team effort-even technician who were not directly servicing me were helpful and courteous. For example, after I sat down for my pedicure, (the technician already had the water running before I even sat down), another technician nearby asked me what I would like to drink. Wow wow I thought only the technician doing my pedicure would care for me but I were wrong . They has a nice selection of polish available( both gels/regular) and the best part was my mani/pedi came out just like the way I want. Tracy (the owner)also did some design for my 2 big toes. I tried this place because of the fantastic groupon deal and checked reviews before I booked this. I felt like it fell below standards. The polish was painted on my skin and since I'm super picky of my nails the sides weren't polished. When I left I still had cotton stragglers on my fingers. My cuticles and hang nails were cut but it looks like they were pulled off or barely cut. (The good thing is that I wasn't accidentally cut) read more

This salon is great. There are many options in San Carlos but they don't put as much care as classy nails does. The facility is clean and they are efficient. The spa bath comes with rose petals and an orange slice. And they have the massage chairs which are great compliment to the excellent service. This place is a bit smaller than the ones on Laurel (4 chairs total) so I recommend calling for an appointment. I was able to call in day of and get a 5pm appointment with no issue. This will be my new go to nail salon! read more

This was our first time here! They just opened up a few weeks ago. Great prices, friendly service and they did an awesome job on mine and my daughters mani-pedi! My daughter loved the orange slices in her water while soaking her feet and LOVED her nails!!!! I definitely recommend this place and also to call to schedule an appt. So let me start off by saying this is not my normal nail salon. Unfortunately my normal place double booked and I was turned away, reading the reviews of this place made me think they knew what they were doing. I wanted a fill, and to change the shape of my nails. Not only is the acrylic application extremely bulky making my fingers look pudgy and cartoonish, I asked for them to be rounded and every single one of them is crooked. Instead of the technician letting me know that the nails were too short to be round she continued to do the application and blamed me for asking my nails to be shorter. For as long as I've been getting my nails done I have never had an application like this 7 out of 10 fingers are in pain because she filed my nails way too short on one side. I was charged $38 for something I am extremely unhappy with. Needless to say I will not be coming back here. read more

Started out great but didn't end so well. Rushed through the whole pedicure and hardly scrubbing any lotion in. I went in wanting a relaxing experience and really can't say I got that except it was kind of quiet. She pulled my cuticles out too hard and it stung when she put on acetone. Once don't polishing she immediately put my shoes on and rushed me out the door. Sadly my pedicure is smudged already. This place redecorated but needs to do better. A huge bonus is the hot stone foot and leg massage they give with every pedicure as part of the package-it feels wonderful. I also have my brows done here and they do a very nice job. I came to Tracy to take off all my acrylic nails. I had been getting them filled for months and they were cemented onto my nail, I wanted a fresh start with my nails so I decided to try a new salon. She did an awesome job tediously taking the acrylic layer off to keep them as heathy as possible, instead of quickly and painfully ripping them off like I know most places would. She even gave me advice on how to keep them healthy instead of just layering expensive chemicals onto them. The price was great and to celebrate her new ownership there is a temporary 20% discount. The facility was very sanitary, using liners in the foot baths and throwing out all disposables after each use. I would 100% recommend Classy Nails over the Laural St salons. read more

I took a break from gel because I was so unhappy with how thick and ugly they looked at other salons but Classy Nails did the BEST job I have ever had, no joke!! After FIVE coats, my nails still looked thin and not thick and blobby. True high end nails they looked like. Also, the spa pedicure had oranges and flower petals and a hot stone massage included. I always call before coming, especially because I am always trying to get in on the same day. The owner is very accommodating and honest regarding availabiity. When you make an appointment, you never have to wait. Important because this is a very small salon. Love the fruit and color they add to the pedicure spa. With the increasingly popularity of the gel manicures, their selection of regular polishes are limited, so I've taken to bringing my own. i give this place 5 stars because the service is decent and the price is extremely reasonable. Everything that other reviewers said I agree with......drinks, clean instruments, liners, etc but the most important thing for me was the beautiful job they did on my hands and feet! I love the finished product!! Their problem right now is finding their location. I knew it was by the BR 31 flavors but it is actually in a small parking lot besides the 31 flavors.
