Located in a brightly colored building on Frenchmen Street (corner of Frenchmen St. & Decatur St.), LMF is one of the longest running record stores in New Orleans. LMF definitely has an old-school record store vibe to it - minus the old musty smell and w/ the modern day comfort of ac. Trust me when I say that you'll for sure want to spend hours at this local NOLA gem, so make sure to give yourself plenty of time to visit. LMF has a huge inventory of vinyl records and cds (old and new - all genres, including a great assortment of local New Orleans music) that are neatly organized and reasonably priced. It also carries musical posters, books, and shirts. There is also a Yelp perk of getting $2 off a t-shirt when you check-in on Yelp. I approached this shop about the possibility of trading some of my used cds that I no longer…read morelistened to for used cds in their store. The young man in charge that day said I should deal directly with the owner who would be on premises the next day. I came back with 9 of my cds & asked if the owner would consider a trade. He said that he did not usually engage in trades, but without hesitation he said sure and let me pick out 9 used cds for a straight trade. It took awhile to go through the shop's jumbled collection of used cds, but I ultimately succeeded. Overall a pleasant experience, although I will say that the vast majority of the used cds he had for me to choose from were not to my liking.

I'd like to read more. Serendipity lead me to his bio. The company was stimulating and the conversation around varied non-weather, non-surface level subjects was quite memorable. It's easy to bond over a table, a shared drink and a couple of idea stimulating books. Not sure how u choose a read in this sea of wisdom. I wandered and trusted God to guide. He lead me to a Buddhist. Go figure!
