When I was still working in an Intramuros-based office, one of the places where I would go to eeat was Savory restaurant in Binondo. It was the original of what has become a chain of restaurants spread all over the metrolpolis. But some weeks ago, that original Savory burned down. I can only hope that it can be rebuilt.
In the meantime, whenever I crave for the distinct taste of Savory chicken, I'm glad that there's a branch in SM Bicutan, close enough to where I live.
I can go on and on about how different Savory chicken is, but words will never suffice. One has to taste it to understand that this particular chicken has become an all-time favorite of denizens of Metro Manila.
And yes, the Savory at the SM mall in Bicutan does have the exact same chicken as the now departed -- hopefully temporarily -- departed original.
It has set meals that go for P119, which is pretty fair all things considered. But of course no Savory meal is complete without their classic chicken.
One thing that I will miss about the original is the prime location. Also, the cashier had toys for sale, so I can buy pasalubong for the little ones whenever I dined there.
I only give four stars to the Savory in Bicutan, but if and when the original is reborn, I'm almost certain to give it five stars. read more
