Still close enough where you can catch an Uber if you want to extend yourself down to Centennial Park or other areas such as Coca-Cola and the Aquarium. The hotel itself was great. The room was very spacious that we had and offered a great view. The staff members from the valet in the front desk were very helpful, and the only issue I ran into, which is just me being me, was that I did not have a shower curtain liner inside my room for the bath/shower. In addition, I thought the toilet seat was extremely low. I'm not old, but getting up was a struggle!! The layout is cool, the amenities are nice, and the lobby setup is picture perfect.... they have signage that it's only for guests, nothing professional without written consent/permission, so don't get too excited, fellow photographers. After engaging in a lot of things around the city, I learned the history of the hotel name/owner via the Coca-Cola tour as the Candler has a history in terms of the city of Atlanta. Valet parking is expensive but pretty much aligned with most parking garages, with the plus of being available 24/7. Trying to save a few bucks and putting it in a garage yourself isn't worth it. If you do decide to Lyft/Uber to the location, the main address is actually located off of Peachtree St where there's the light rail/bus, and they purposely/intentionally have that door entrance closed. Therefore, you need to use the following address 66 Park Place NE, to come up on Park Place, where the valet and main entrance is at. Hopefully, they can get that fixed in the system. Would I return?... Absolutely!

This hotel is a part of the AmEx Hotel Collection, which includes a generous food credit to the hotel. The price was really good and the building looked pretty cool- I am glad I deviated from my usual brand loyalty. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite and the room is beautiful and spacious with a nice claw footed bathtub and his&her sinks (I hate sharing counter space if I can have my own). The coffee in the room is yummy and the shower is great. Bed is comfy, not too soft and not too firm. USB and outlets directly in the bed frame were nice- I didn't have to move the mattress to find a hidden plug on the back wall. This historic building offers a tour as well and the decor inside is opulent and takes you back in time. They have a nice restaurant as well (By George)- we had dinner as well as a mid day coffee pick me up. Staff gave us nice stories about the hotel as well as some tips for how we wanted to make the most of our stay. Although we didn't take advantage, the MARTA stop is close by. I highly recommend this Hilton Curio Collection property. Thanks to everyone for making our stay great.

One stop was literally a gas station where we heard about "creepy dolls" and a haunted mirror. Yes, we did see real landmarks - Fox Theatre and the Georgian Terrace, + a couple more - but the Fox tale was pure fluff and nothing about the Terrace or any of the others was remotely eerie. We mostly stood around on a slow Monday night and watched delivery robots up and down the streets that were more interesting than the tour. No sources, no access, no atmosphere. Also, the "tour guide" told us it's rumored that Wayne Williams of the Atlanta Child Murders took some of the boys he killed to St. Mark United Methodist Church on Peachtree St. and briefly left them there in the basement before he disposed of their bodies. She then went on to say that the church now holds children's services in the same part of the church and that it's "creepy." Give me a break. I've lived in Atlanta for a quarter century and have researched that case extensively, and I've never heard of anything so ridiculous until now. There's also nothing online to support it. If you're expecting legitimate stories, a little theater, or even one genuinely spooky stop, this isn't it. Cut the sales pitches, pick actual sites we can experience, and tell fewer, better stories with citations. Until then, hard pass.
