After a terrible experience at a kid only salon we were on the hunt for a great barber for children. After asking around we heard a lot of great things about Nicole. Its been well over 2 years and we still see her. Although it isnt primarily for children, the shop has a fire truck for the littles to sit in. Just came out of a hair cut here by Yanis and it's absolutely terrible. The worst haircut I've ever had. He shaved the top of my bed strange so it's not blended in with the scissor cut properly, and now I definitely have to go and get this recut again in a week once it's grown out a bit. Came here back in the fall to get a fade and a fade I did not receive. The place itself is decorated very well, and the ambience feels warm. The barber I had was very nice as well, but the final result of my hair felt like I got a 2 clip all around, my fiancé had to fix it and complete the skin fade. Im writinf this review for Zeus because honestly I don't want you fools making this place all busy so I cant get my cut, but I owe it to the man. He gave me the best haircut I've ever had. I've lived in Newark for about 3 years now and searched far and wide for a solid barber. NYC, Jersey City, Newark, Princeton, all over. Never returning to a barber more than twice because I am uptight and hate when I feel like barbers don't listen. For the past three years I've had a particular haircut in mind (the best example of it is if you Google French Crop) and no one has gotten it close to right. Admittedly I'm not great at describing what I want but I feel like a lot of barbers decide how they are going to cut your hair before they even ask you what you want. Zeus is the first barber to not only listen to me but to clarify what I was talking about and do it right. He did the most meticulous fade I've ever had and varied it around my head to accommodate for differences in my skull and places where the hair grows lighter. It took a while but he took his time and got it right and it's f*ckin sick. The top length is also spot on and perfectly layered. This haircut was a big change from my normal style and it's not something I would have been able to try with a lesser barber. He was super cool about it too and I think probably more excited to try it than I was lol. Beyond that this is just a nice barbershop. Clean, chill, great service at every level. read more

I stopped by this place last month, and as soon as I walked through the door, John knew exactly the type of haircut I wanted. He was super courteous, and welcoming. When I sat in his barber's seat, I was showing him a picture of the haircut style I wanted, and without even studying the picture, John's response was quick and classic "Yeah, I know. I knew as soon as I saw you walked through the door that you were going to get this style of cut." He knew how I wanted the sides, back and how much off the top. Damn! That's what you call a man who knows his stuff (to put it kindly). While getting a great cut from John, we were watching an awesome action movie, and talking in depth about the movie, and how it ties into the reality of what's going on in government, politics, etc...Went back again, a week ago, got the same cut, and this time me, John and Willy (another barber who was there), just chopped it up talking about the then upcoming Avengers movie, our theories of what would happen at the end of this phase, new characters emerging in future phases and so on. My last two recent haircuts was here, at Classic Man Cut, and this was actually my first haircut EVER, in New Jersey. This will be the only place in Jersey that cuts my hair, no offense to the other barber shops, but it is what it is. Highly recommended read more

This place is the best new barbershop in Hoboken. Eli and John give the freshest cuts and are both awesome. You can make an appointment online or on the app and they are super timely and punctual when it comes to your appointment time. Not to mention they hook you up with a free beverage and hot towel. I decided to look for a new place to have my hair cut and Classic Man is right around the corner from a doctor and pharmacy I visit frequently. I scheduled an appointment online for 1100 and selected "Any Barber" since I do not know anyone there. I arrived promptly and there were two barbers servicing customers at the time. The woman barber asked me if I had an appointment and I confirmed my 1100. Another customer came in who is apparently a regular and she asked him if he had an appointment, to which he responded "No, I just need a quick cleanup". She said that (I did not hear the name) would be back in a minute. When that barber returned (an older man) he immediately took that other customer. Then two more customers came in and when he finished with the first customer he took one of them; again, ahead of me. Now I was becoming irritated and was about to leave but one of the other barbers finished and he selected me (If he took the other customer I would have left.) I was satisfied with the haircut (it took about the same amount of time as the first customer who cut in front of me.) I may or may not return but I doubt if they care. If I do return and have a better experience I will update my review. read more

When there for the first time today, and I was NOT very happy. I had a 9:00 AM appointment John. John shows up about 25 minutes late, and then tries to seek his 9:20 appointment ahead of me, not cool and unprofessional. My time is very valuable to be waiting 25 minutes for a barber to show up. John then cut my hair in a rush and left one of my sideburns longer than the other. Bottom line the hair cut was not worth the $35 I paid, and I won't be going back ever again. read more

Zeus took a lot of care with my hair to make sure it passed the difficult wife test. She usually finds a lot wrong with my haircuts but this time it was "good and better than the other places I've been to". He managed to get a little style in with the super short cut I like. I usually don't like talking during a cut, but it felt natural with Zeus. It was a little more expensive than I would have liked though. read more

Believe it or not, when I first moved to New Jersey, these were the first people to make me feel that I had "a place". Booking is super easy, either online, in person or by phone. Everyone inside is friendly and creates a welcoming environment and Sheila is an artist with my beard. She worked with me over time for the look I wanted and now my girlfriend actually LIKES my beard. I never thought that was going to happen. We decided to go to this place because of its good rating and when we arrive the place looked very nice, but the women attending seem like they were cooking instead of cutting hair; however we decided to go in and my wife passed first... My wife was left as a man, the hairdresser tried to justify but it was obvious that she herself knew that she did it very bad. I got angry and let her know. Her only absurd answer: "The hair grows again" .... Yes, of course, but in the meantime my wife has to see herself every day that she didn't like at all and Worse, what hurts me the most, today we had an important party and my wife was very happy, she bought clothes and shoes for that event and today she said she feels very bad about her appearance. Now she wearing a cap all the time. Because of YOU GUYS my wife feels bad about herself and that hairdresser is so cynical that she accepted the tip.
