They all have great social media, easy to contact any of the barbers and figure out which days or what times are best even though they're walk-in only. They're also cash only so prepare for that otherwise they do have an atm in the shop if anything. I've never waited more than 10-15mins to get sat and the haircuts are quick it's no nonsense. I mean yea they have friends hanging out or music playing but it's a positive vibe. They don't bullshit and stop and start any haircuts like a lot of barbershops do. Getting side tracked with other shit going on around them. They give you all the good stuff of a higher end barbershop (and they know how to use scissors lol) but it's not overpriced. I got two people I see and whoever is ready I go to. Both are great. I think they're all good from al the pictures and heads I see coming and going from the shop.

Anyway, I don't think they've improved over the last 12 years, but rather has continued down its 2-star path. I think they lost sight of the concept - a place for dudes - dark panels, sports on TV, offer the customer a beer and make for a relaxing enviornment. It is basically now your run of the mill men's haircut shop with lollipops and La Croix. The haircut was actually pretty good and the stylist was pretty nice. Although the haircut is supposed to come with a shampoo and 5 minute scalp massage which adds to the relaxation. I wasn't offered either and it feels creepy to ask a young lady in a tight dress to do so.

Finding one that sticks is hard, especially on weekends when half the time their number does not work or there is no way to schedule an appointment. Park Ave Salon broke that streak on the first try. Service requested: Men's haircut. My hair is basic, but I showed Hani one photo and he knew exactly what I wanted. Quality: Fantastic. My hair grows to the sides much faster than the front, so I turn into a mushroom after three weeks, and I work in an environment where business professional is a must. Hani went after the sides first and they came out super clean. He cut it with great flexibility too, so it works whether I gel it or leave it natural. Exactly what I needed. Vibe: Clean space and the timing was impeccable. My appointment was 1 pm, I got there at 12:58, and he was just finishing up the previous customer who was paying. His customer service is transparent from the first call. The moment I reached out he texted me with all the details, time, name, everything. After half a year of dead numbers, that alone stood out. Hani Himself: Hani has been cutting hair since 1988, nearly four decades. He is extremely easy to talk to and genuinely warm. We talked for a while and he shared stories about his family and his daughter, who he is clearly very proud of, and his thinking on parenting lined up exactly with the mindset I hope to have when I have kids. He told me to text or talk to him anytime. He does not work Tuesdays but offered to come in if I ever really needed it. That is who he is. Final Thoughts: This is my go to spot now. After six months of searching, I found someone who reads what I want, delivers it clean every time, and treats people right. And the cut was 25 dollars. Twenty five. "See you in three weeks, Hani."

My regular barber was away today when I went in for a haircut, but being in a rush and needing an urgent haircut for an important meeting that I have this week, I bumped into Charles. Charles was very nice and polite and within a few minutes we started chatting--after about 15 minutes my haircut was done and I was absolutely amazed and very pleased at the results. Unfortunately, today's experience was extremely disappointing. Fatima is currently on vacation, so someone else handled my haircut. From the beginning, when I gave her clear instructions, she seemed frustrated and dismissive--instead of listening, she tried to correct me, as if I didn't know what I wanted. When I gave a second instruction, the frustration only grew. She abruptly told me my haircut was "basically done" and said she wouldn't charge me, which felt like a polite way of kicking me out. The only reason I'm leaving two stars instead of one is out of respect for Fatima's past professionalism. However, after today's experience, I won't be returning, even when she's back.
