I am not an avid car collector. I had a classic car a decade ago and had to let it go. I really missed driving a classic and wanted to buy another one to putter around with as a hobby. The car i fell in love with was located in Pa. I live in Ill. I did my due dilligence regarding the car, but wanted "eyes-on" locally from someone with a more discerning appreciation for the old car market. I read reviews on a couple appraisers. Eventually I reached out to Grayson at Classic Gray. He agreed to do a pre-purchase inspection. Significantly, firm limitations were agreed as to what he could (and could not) do during a limited inspection. I understood that I am looking at a 50+ year old car which might or might not have been well maintained. I understood that any such purchase is always subject to unforseeable issues. Grayson handled all contact with the seller in a professional and efficient manner. I was provided with written documentation and photographic evidence of the condition of the vehicle as much as the seller would allow. The report was open and honest. Communication with Grayson was excellent. Ultimately, it was up to me to determine if I was comfortable with the condition to complete the purchase, which I did. I relied greatly on Grayson's opinions, but accepted the fact that a 50 year old car is going to throw some surprises (which Grayson did advise). I could not be happier with my purchase. One of the cheapest appraisers out there but buyer beware ...you get what you pay for. Grayson is extremely rude and irritable. After reading a review that's customer never received their report, I called him for a status report. Very careful that I didn't offend him because there's always two sides to every story, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. He told me that I was irritating him by calling him and constantly harassing him and hung up on me. I emailed him once and called him once during the whole process. He wouldn't take a deposit so I had to pay in full so you can imagine how nervous I was that I wasn't going to get the report. After I finally got the report. It looks like he lowballed me on one of the cars because he knows that this was part of a divorce settlement, and I almost feel like it was done out of spite. Retaliation for annoying him. Can't really prove it, but if I were you, I would spare myself the headache and the $ that you would save and find a better appraiser with a More professional outlook on Customer Service. read more

I hired Grayson to inspect a car for me in mid March of 2022 ...that car was located in Morgantown Pa. and I paid him $300 in advance ..from the very beginning I found him to be somewhat rude but I took that with cultural difference he being from up north and me being from the deep south .. he did go and do the inspection, he did make a good video but I never received a written report which was part of the package I purchased ..I emailed him asking about it a couple of times and he never responded as far as I know so I text him several times with no response .. as of today I am still waiting for the report and once Ive received it and the car I purchased I will upgrade his rating if warranted ! read more
