Booking was super easy, and I loved that they use an app where you can view your appointments and invoices all in one place. They gave us a 2-4 PM arrival window and showed up toward the later end, which was totally fine. I wasn't home during the service, but my husband was, and the technician called when he arrived and explained everything clearly. They shampooed, agitated, and deodorized the carpets, and took extra care with the areas where our dog had accidents. I was especially impressed with how the stairs turned out--while they weren't heavily soiled, they tend to trap a lot of dog hair from daily use, and they came out looking really clean and refreshed. And they make the process easy by having all the samples when they come to the house so you really can finish all decisions in one meeting. That's where the good ends. Everything after that first meeting is a full scam. Once you sign on the dotted line, the service is GONE. We were sold the 5 year extended warranty specifically because of our animals. The sales people pointed out our existing carpet damage from our dogs and said that we HAD to get the extended warranty to ensure that if they ever damaged the carpet in any way, it would be replaced. Did we get the warranty? Of course! Did our dog damage the carpet this past week? Yup! Did they tell me to take a long walk and that they don't cover pet damage while reading their policy from a script in front of them? Sure did. We are talking a 2'x2' piece of damaged carpet that we already have extra carpet to repair and they wont look at it or consider repairing it even though that's what BOTH of the sales people in our house guaranteed that they would fix for 5 years. Installation was done horribly, the carpeting and pad they installed is rock-hard, coming unraveled, and looks like garbage. They didn't even remove the stickers or fill the nail holes on the baseboards. I asked if they had a manager or anyone who had walks through and signs off on the install. They said they would send an install supervisor and never did. If I had it to do over I would have never gone with Empire. But I did so I making sure I tell EVERYONE to get their flooring through literally any other company you can find.

When there is a significant lapse of time between measure and install, it is best to come back out to site to make sure all parties are on the same page. Communication was fabulous throughout. Installers worked hard and left the area clean and removed all trash. Another plus is they understand working with HOAs and mngmt of high rises. It was inconvenient to have to reschedule, and make a 1 day project 2 days. There also was a price change that through open communication we came to a resolution, and everyone continued to be pleasant and work through it to get the job done.

Of course, I wasn't home because I was given a different time frame! But again, okay not a huge deal, I used to work at a plumbing company so I understand sometimes the techs get to places early/late. Whatever. Now the real kicker, I FINALLY get a quote, pretty reasonable I think $864 for some nice carpet to install over some hardwood flooring..THEN miss Emma has the nerve to ask for FULL payment up front to do the job. That's right folks. I was being told to pay for installing BEFORE installation. I argue with her for awhile that NOBODY does this lady...a deposit I understand but nobody ever requires full payment prior to a job being done. She proceeds to tell me "sorry, this is what we do, we're 100% legit guaranteed, you know where our office is, our guys are trusting, etc"..once she sees I'm not falling for it she says "I'll talk to the manager" and comes back with "okay you can just pay for the carpet $726"..NOPE sorry lady you already lost my trust, bye Felicia! We have some areas in the past few months that needed to be stretched. We worked with them again to do the restretching of the carpet in the hall and extra bedroom.
