The only reason why this establishment isn't getting a big fat zero star is because the installers are so nice. However, our experience has been nothing but a nightmare since it began. We talked to Fred, the salesman, who came over and took measurements and drew a layout of the two areas we wanted to cover. We were asking for carpet in the living room, and vinyl in the kitchen / dining room / laundry room area. Fred assured us that everything would be done in one day and that he would be sending his best crew to do it because "vinyl is a completely different animal". Fred advised us that the installers would show up on 05.03.2014 before 9am and would be there all day to complete the job. That Friday before the install, Ron (the installer manager) called us to tell us that the installers would be at our home between 9 and 10. Shortly after 10am I called Carpets Galore, and was snapped at by Ron. When I asked what the hold up was, he said that the installers "had to go get some supplies" and basically blew me off. He said they would be there within 45 minutes. They weren't. The installers, Don and Nick, finally showed up to our house a little after noon and didn't proceed to get started until close to 1pm. They told us the reason for the delay was because they had their vinyl roller in a storage shed and had to drive all the way across town to get it. We asked them how long everything was going to take and they told us that the vinyl would take about six hours... the carpet another hour or two. We breathed a sigh of relief, thinking we'd have our house back by no later than 10pm. All of our belongings were outside in the backyard and with grey skies looming, we were anxious to get everything back inside before potential rain ruined it. Unfortunately, the installers weren't done that night. Nor were they done the next night. Here it is five days later and the vinyl still hasn't been completed. When we called to complain on 05.05.2014, Ron again got short with us - telling us that vinyl jobs this big are going to take a long time. When we complained about the speed and the quality of the work that was being done, he gave us a guilt trip - saying he would just go ahead and fire the installation crew because we "don't like them anyway"... and I quote "You want me to fire them? I'll fire them." He was defensive about the situation and said that the crew would be back that night and they *promised* they would have everything done. He even sent out a different installer to complete the carpet portion so the original crew would have their hands free to work exclusively on the vinyl. Obviously the job still isn't done. Not only that, when I was walking the area this morning not only is the job STILL not complete; but there are obvious seams, patch jobs, bubbles, nicks, and ill fitting areas all over the place. The installers have run out of vinyl and are trying to line up scraps to get things to work. I cannot believe that I paid close to $2000 for this crap. The salesman, Fred, is giving us the run-around and Ron just wants to put the blame on us. I wouldn't recommend this business to my worst enemy. UPDATE 05.29.2014 My computer is finally out of the garage and I'm having an opportunity to update this review. After Carpets Galore read this review, I was finally able to speak with Greg...the store manager... but only after I called Carpets Galore again to ask for help for the original crew that came out to do the vinyl. Greg came out and viewed the job that was being done and agreed that it was not up to standards. He spoke with the owner (who was unfortunately out of town due to a death in the family) and at first offered to repair the vinyl at a significant discount. But when Guillermo came out and saw the amount of patch work that would need to be done he advised a total redo of the job. All I can say is thank goodness for Guillermo. He and his assistant (I failed to catch his name) got to our house promptly at 0830 and were done by 1400. Amazing. I still can't find a single seam in the vinyl, and I wish we had received this team from the very beginning. I do still think that we should have received better customer service from our first phone calls, and I do still think that we should have been offered some kind of compensation for the fact that we were without a kitchen for three weeks... but Carpets Galore didn't offer and I'm not up to fighting the issue anymore. I suppose the end result is that I would recommend them for carpet, but for Vinyl make sure you ask for Guillermo. He was professional, honest, and courteous. I don't think we could have had a better experience. We went thru Costco, which uses Carpets Galore. Joe was our salesperson and he was very good explaining all the options. We put down about 2500 square feet of faux wood tile and another 1000 square feet (give or take) of carpet. We also had virtually all of the baseboard in the house replaced. On the day we signed the contract he brought with him Anthony who was in charge of the installation crew. On the first day of installation, only one guy showed up and we were a bit concerned. It turned out he was fabulous and as the days went on, he brought help with him as needed. The installer's name was Ishmael. He was beyond helpful. Realizing we were replacing all the floor downstairs, he tiled and grouted about half of it so we could move all of our stuff to that half rather than moving it back and forth multiple times. He was polite and clean and cleaned up each day. The tile floor looks absolutely amazing! On the day after the tile floors were done, another crew came in to do the carpeting which also came out great. That crew moved furniture back and forth as needed. We only had to move the light stuff. After all that was done, there were a few baseboard pieces that were not installed because we were having kitchen cabinets being installed and we did not know exactly where they would end. We called up and they sent out a team within 48 hours to finish the job. It took about 2 weeks to remove our old tile, install new tile, rip up old carpet, install new carpet and to install the baseboard (except those last few pieces). Everything looks great! If there was any issues we had it was with some communication about the timing. The tile installer showed up one day early and we were not totally ready (didn't move furniture off the old tile he was removing), but he helped us move our stuff. The carpeting install was supposed to happen after the entire kitchen was done, but they showed up (with 2 days notice) earlier than we anticipated too. It wasn't a big deal, we were just concerned about dust from kitchen install getting onto new carpeting (wasn't really an issue as carpeting is upstairs). I signed up to Yelp just to write this review. It is so rare to find competence these days. I have to call it when I see it. We bought LVP flooring through Costco and Carpets Galore with Lux Floor as the installer. I am so happy with the install! I am just in love with this floor and my new baseboards! Costco was a great deal and simple process. All of the guys at Carpets Galore/Lux Floor were extremely professional, arrived on time and stayed full days. We had a hiccup after pulling up our wall-to-wall carpet and found the concrete was not at all even. Carpet hides all kinds of builder blunders. Floating LVP requires level floors. When we diy'd our daughters room with LVP, (one room was more than enough for us to diy it took us 2 weeks) we learned how important level floors are. We agreed that to do it right, we would need to apply a skim coat of self-leveling concrete to the entire downstairs. Thankfully, it was hot and dry outside with all the windows open and fans on full blast they were able to walk on it the next day. To stay on schedule they worked on the upstairs and the stairs while the downstairs finished drying. Hugo treated our floor as if it were his own, even reworking a bullnose on our stair that he wasn't quite satisfied with. On the last day we weren't sure they would finish on schedule after leveling the floors, but Hugo called in reinforcements, reassuring us they would stay until it was finished. They finished our entire downstairs, the stairs, the loft and halls upstairs in 3 days (!) so we were able to start the painters the next day. Now it feels like a whole new home! After we demo'd our daughter's room, we knew that the builder's baseboards were essentially cardboard and trying to salvage it would be impossible. We were told upfront that our new baseboards would only be nailed and caulked but not painted. That was fine since we wanted to paint the walls anyway. When it comes time to install new floors in our bedrooms, we will be going through Costco and Carpets Galore/Lux Floor. Those guys are pros. Jennifer H. read more

I recently purchased and had carpets installed. Bought through Costco, and Joe from Carpets Galore is one of their salesman. He was great. I originally met with him a year ago to get a quote. He was professional, courteous and I could tell he knew what he was doing. When I told him our situation he was quick to give me the best options he had. I appreciated his no-fluff attitude and a quick and easy quote. His followup was on point, and when we decided not to have anything done, he did not try to sell me anything unwanted or bug me any more. We revisited the idea about a month ago and I again worked with Joe. Same great service. Quote on the spot. One thing I love is that he came to my house and even let me hold on to the samples for a couple days so I could show my husband. After getting several quotes, decided to go with him. A different quote I got - they came to my house to measure, then I had to go to their store to pick out carpet, get a quote. I could take a sample home but then I also had to take it back. The process took waaaay too long, and with 2 babies, it wasn't easy. Joe brought everything to me which was awesome. Carpet installation was great as well. They were professional and no fuss. They cleaned up so well and our carpet looks so great. Even the transitions from the carpet to the linoleum are so much better than our previous ones. I feel like I live in a brand new house! I recommend Carpets Galore whole heartily and I am telling you, you are missing out if you don't use them. The flooring company I used to use went out of business ,as I have seen many other flooring companies fold under. I was looking for a stable, economical and professional flooring store and I heard their commercials stating that " That they beat them all" and they have proven that hands down.. I am all in with Carpets Galore!! I have been purchasing houses and fixing them up for many years and I needed good prices, quick and quality service and the knowledge that comes with being in the business long term. I found Carpets Galore to be able to meet those needs and much more, they are professional, experienced, competent, efficient, and all around great customer service. I have had comments from the purchasers of my homes that the homes looked great and that the loved the flooring, either being wood, tile or carpet, all great reviews. I recently used Carpets Galore for my personal residence and wanted higher end flooring being carpet and tile and had some difficult needs in the house and they were able to accommodate my needs without any problems. I am very very happy with the product and installation. I won't be using any other flooring companies ever again. Save money and buy materials directly from Costco and hire a contractor directly (since that's where they get their materials and contractors from anyway.) They will up charge you for the materials. The owner Marilyn doesn't even live in NV, she lives in CO. The other owner doesn't live here either, Greg FIshman lives in CA. Part of our flooring is from Shaw and Greg will tell you that he is "Shaw's costumer" since he ordered the materials through his business. They use Durango Flooring whose employee's left their garbage all over our house after they walked off the job. Their other contractor, Entourage, is owned by Anthony Herlihy, who delayed the job and blamed it on the customer (us.) He also tried embarrassing me claiming stale payment even though the issue was with his bank and he was paid via zelle not even a day later. All of these people are unprofessional and useless. read more

i normally do not take the time to write reviews for businesses that i deal with but in this case i felt compelled to make an exception. i purchased all of my flooring at the same time and their pricing was excellent after comparison. i had a problem with the carpet installed in my living room ( mill defects ) and they promptly took care of that problem by arranging for the mill to replace the carpet. marylin the owner and john the salesman arranged for the mill to give me a substantial upgrade of replacement carpet at no additional cost to me which was a big surprise. when i deal with businesses in the home furnishing industry i know the only thing that seperates these companies is the service that they provide and carpets galores service is excellent and i would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again in the future. read more

I am a serious shopper when it comes to big purchases. Carpets Galore was one of the places I shopped. I made my decision because John was so informative on product knowledge that I knew his years of experience was leading me to the right decision. I wanted my flooring to last a very long time so I would not have to do this again in a few years. Like I had to do with the other company. The extra bonus was that the prices were very competitive! Everything was done in a timely professional manner. I would highly recommend this Company for flooring. I did see a few disappointing reviews, though they seem to be answered and resolved. I should have went with Carpets Galore as my first choice after talking to my friends. However, I went with Joe Garza or his real name is Joe Castanon. He may have worked at Carpets Galore at one time. He started a company called Luxury Flooring Solutions. We agreed on carpet and laminate but what was installed was inferior apartment grade. The old bait and switch. The whole job has to be redone. If this guy tries and sells you carpet, turn away run and don't walk. This guy is a fraud. He said he would refund me $800, but never received it. He wont take my phone calls. He does not have a business license. I put in a complaint with the Las Vegas Business License department. I have to take him court to resolve this issue. The moral of the story is I should have went with my first choice Carpets Galore. read more

Thank you Carpets Galore. I thought I was going to have an impossible task to buy flooring for my new home and I'm moving in from out of town. They were very informative with the decorating and suggestions. I needed everything, wood, Tile and carpeting for the entire house. After shopping round they were the the flooring company, I decided to buy everything from them. In many cases we had to deal by phone due to my schedule but everything went well without a hiccup. The finish job was beyond my expectations and I couldn't be happier. Anybody looking for great prices combined with superb service should give them an opportunity to show their products and don't worry about the service, that's an automatic.
