In the past I've had a good experience with Classis Firearms, but that has started to go downhill, particularly after they started offering 'shipping insurance.' My guess is that it is an excuse to cheap out on packing materials unless you pay extra money. I recently purchased an item that was shipped in a poorly wrapped bag with basically to protection. When I received it, the item was smashed and metal was bent. The least they could do is use some decent packing materials to help mitigate any issues. read more

Spent time cleaning it up and then emailed them within an hour of delivery to let them know the problem and their answer was 'Maybe they test fired it'. I pointed out there's no mention of test firing in their listing and they refused to send me a new one and directed me to the manufacturer to get a replacement. Manufacturer turned out to be Bear Creek Arms, which has a '1-14 business day' turnaround on just emailing them, which turned this whole experience into over a month for me to get the NEW barrel I ordered in my hands. Customer service rep Jay couldn't care less that I had a bad experience, saying this is how they deal with 'warranty issues'. By just shuffling you off to another company to handle their problems. Super disappointed in these guys that I used to shop with regularly. They also have been deleting my bad reviews on their website, warning other people of this terrible customer service trap. I just purchased the Cimarron PP405LSFW. I have had three (3) fail to fire rounds in the first attempted 44 shots. The hammer strike was misregistered striking the round way off center. In all cases, the gun was indexed to that round via drawing the hammer back. Thus, there is some serious flaw in the mechanism that caused the misregistration. I don't know if this is a single bad chamber or random. I have had two sets of 6 shots that did fire all chambers?? So, it does not happens every time. As this is the first box of ammo, I feel that this is a need for a return and replacement, not just some warranty fix issue. This is pretty bad for a revolver. Classic Firearms (CF) required that I go through Cimarron, not through CF. Having 3 FTFs in the first box of ammo for a revolver is a defective pistol. Update: They responded and made the situation right. I've had two experiences buying milsurp from them. The first was average. I bought a K31 at a ridiculous price because that's what everyone was charging. I picked it up, it was more or less as described. Decent condition, all-matching, troop tag, great shooter. I made my choice so it is what it is. Fast forward a few months, and I get an email stating that they have a batch of No. 4s that are in "very good to excellent" condition, and have been professionally stripped, cleaned, refinished, and reassembled to proper spec. I mulled it over for a few hours, then placed the order. On 06/01 I went to my FFL to pick it up and my heart sank as soon as I saw it. The stock was all kinds of chewed up, cracked, dented, etc. The wood itself was not "good", let alone "excellent". So I pull the bolt out, check the bore, and go home. As I'm cleaning the grease off, I start noticing the other problems. The safety is clogged with sand, the receiver has spots of surface oxidation either from botched re-blueing or none at all, especially noticeable on the rear sight ladder once you move the sight up or down. Honestly, its hit and miss with them on quality; what they publish and describe in their ADs and website have never hit the mark with the exception of the Romanian TTC Tokarev Pistol - 7.62x25 I bought in March of 2020, it was everything they advertised it would be. But it was the exception. Everything else I have have bought has not even been close to the way it was described. The worst being the Chinese SKS Type 56 Rifle - Original Military Turn In Rifles. 7.62x39 Semi-Auto W /Spike Bayonet I bought April 2020 it was no more then Junk, not even sure it is shootable. My four star is based on 5 firearm and ammunition purchases. (My reason for the 4 star rating) As far as their staff they are 5 STARS in my book I could not ask to work with a better bunch of people especially Suzette. I purchased an enfield , the advertised it as follows on their site- " Classic Firearms always tries to be brutally honest when describing the condition of our surplus rifles. In regards to these carbines, they have all been dry fire function tested to ensure that they are complete and operable, but the cosmetic conditions vary greatly from one rifle to another. The best way to describe them as a lot is probably this. They are all in good condition mechanically and should feed, function, and fire with no issues at all. Cosmetically, now that is a different story. Some have quite a lot of original bluing left on them, while some have very little blue. I would say the average is around 60 %. Stocks are all solid ( meaning not broken ), but they all have the typical dent, dings, gouges, etc, that you can commonly expect of surplus. Some may also have some small (non-function inhibiting) cracks in the wood. Of course, you may also encounter trench art on some of these rifles, and there will be a certain amount of dirt and grime as they are in turn in condition. Having said all of that, don't let our brutally honest description of these fool you. They are highly collectible and to me the most shooter-friendly version of all of the Enfield rifles." The one I recieved is not functional, not complete. Definitely NOT complete and operable, and definitly NOT in good condition mechanically. It has very deep rust and pitting, the bore is swelled and it is unsafe to shoot. ​if you tried to shoot this it would probably explode. Let me preface my review by saying I am not just a disgruntled customer I am also a profesional GUNSMITH and certified FIREARMS APPRAISER, so I certainly have a leg to stand on here. I purchased a TTC tokarev that was advertised (VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT) and was at best a low good rating, I sent photo's before sending the gun back which pointed out all the flaws in the gun and why it did not live up to the rating. When I received my refund CLASSIC FIREARMS kept the shipping fee, tax and insurance fee stating that the gun was as advertised. either the staff cannot grade guns properly or they just do not care who they rip off. I purchased another from them which was not as bad as the first, but not as advertised. The most frustrating part is no one in authority will call or e mail me to resolve this. This also is not the first time have had a problem with a used gun from them, I once was sent a gun with a broken slide after paying extra for hand select. The bottom line is CLASSIC FIREARMS customer service stinks, and if you order a used gun from them you will be lucky to get what you paid for. They do a lot of videos, they're pretty good. Clint and the other people in their the videos often speak of how important it is for COMPANIES TO TAKE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. That's part of the reason I began ordering from them. I don't know the exact dollar amount I'm responsible for being ordered through Classic, but it's a significant amount. I am positive I know of 14 Thunder Ranch receiver sets since Memorial Day, not mention other parts such as barrels and BCG's. I ordered a BA .223 Wylde barrel during their 4th sale. The website showed it was in stock, I paid for my barrel, a few days later, without any email asking me what I'd prefer, they've canceled my order and refunded my money. It was on sale for a fantastic deal. Not long after, it's back in stock and listed for over $100 more than I bought it for. That's wrong on every possible level. I reached out to customer service and very politely shared my frustration, I got back a pointless message. Nothing that indicated they would address my situation. They've lost me as a customer and the people I recommended to them, I will also post on FB, here, AR15.com, etc. so people know more of what they're getting into. Clint consistently talking about customer service got me to order, so their BS marketing worked. However, it also makes you stand out as a giant HYPOCRITE when you don't back it up. I'd tell Clint to shut the hell up about the customer if they're gonna screw customers, or I'd be scrambling to fix the issues. I own two businesses that are 100% customer driven, I'd never consider doing this. I'd ask the customer if they'd like to wait for the order to be filled, IF IT WAS ACTUALLY OUT OF STOCK, I don't believe it was. I have no proof of that, but it sure seems that way. I ordered the Archangel AK series OPFOR forend set - black polymer. They sent me an Archangel LVX Magazine for SKS 7.62 x 39MM 35 rnd black polymer. I have been in contact with the company via email. They informed me of the return policy and that I must complete my return within 45 days or I would only receive store credit. Classic firearms said they would send me a email with a shipping label so I can return the item they sent for a refund. I have still not received the email with the shipping label. Although I can't really prove it but I believe that they are delaying the process so that I may only receive store credit. I'm giving 5 stars because of the actual product itself. The heavy fluted 18" 6.5 Grendel barrel I ordered was really nice and shoots 1 MOA on average days and easily .5 MOA when I'm doing my part. For the actual price and hunting purposes, you can't beat it with a stick. One thing they do need to improve upon, is the time it takes from when the product is ordered, until it actually ships. If the site says a product is IN STOCK, it should at-least be shipped within the following 2 days. If you guys have that many orders that our stuff is taking a week JUST TO BE PULLED OFF THE SHELF. You probably should hire more warehouse personnel and get the ball rolling a little quicker with item pulling, packaging, and shipping. I paid an extra for $20 for hand selection, and received a very clean example with little use. The second gun I purchased was a CZ 70, and what I received rust covered, pitted, example that wouldn't even function- even though I spent the extra $20 for "hand select." The magazine and slide release buttons were jammed. The magazine was rusted in. They sent me a "how did we do?" email to which I politely replied, not very good, detailed the problems, and asked to return it. I didn't even get the curtesy of a reply. I've been working on that CZ for over a month now, soaking it in citric acid to remove rust, filing out the pits, and so forth. It took me days to get the magazine out and free up firing pin. I'm not even sure it's safe to shoot. Classic lied to me about the condition of the gun, charged extra for "special selection" and sent me a piece of rusted garbage, and refused to even answer emails. They have $250 of my money, and Im stuck with a worthless hunk of scrap. I will never do business with those dishonest crooks again. read more

I have never had an issue with a gun supplier in the 30 years of buying parts and firearms before this issue with Classic. They could not give 2 rips about making it right when they screw up. They shipped a separate order I had for a stripped upper to a FFL I used for other purchases of lowers and firearms who is now charging me a handling fee. The lowers I ordered also got lost through FEDEX and when I asked them to contact FEDEX because Fedex wouldn't talk to me they just blew me off. I even asked to speak to the supervisor and she had the customer service of paste and IQ of 3. These are the reason forcing me to return both of them. Even the issue is on their product. I still have to pay once for them shipping me defected products and then again to return them. I'm a new customer to Classic Firearms. I typically buy all my firearms at my local GS but they had a Sig P938 Legion in stock and my local store didn't. They also had it at a great price so I figured I'd give them a shot. I ordered the gun on a Wednesday and my FFL has it Tuesday morning. If you have any issues at all and have to return, they will hit you with an extremely high return shipping fee and on top of that a restocking fee. You're not made aware of this until they receive it back. After several emails, they will not try and make any concessions. Absolute horrible experience with them!
