The owner called me immediate and said he could help and gave us a reasonable price. He was a little bit flaky when it came to scheduling which made me think I was mistaken but I wasn't he just changed the times a few times which was okay but not very reliable. He came with a partner and stretched our carpet and at first since he didn't clean up any of the mess around the edges I thought it was okay. But when I vacuumed everything up I noticed very quickly something was not right. Fast forward only 1.5 months later and our entire carpet has to be replaced because of the edges he cut and seams he cut to stretch. Highly disappointed because when he called because he left his stuff at my house I explained to him what was wrong and he said he would come by on a Sunday and he never showed up. Now we need to find someone to replace our entire upstairs carpeting in the loft, primary bedroom and possibly one of the other bedrooms.

I thought…read morethe cost was a bit high, but the reviews I read on Google were so great I thought it would be worth it. Nope. My experience was more like a previous one here. Owner did not come on day of cleaning. Man who did cleaning cut carpet to remove it at an angle, which didn't have to be done, rather than lift it. This resulted in uneven and unlevel edges. Seam repair was not good, and still isn't. Carpet had multiple areas of spots that weren't clean. Left a mess of carpet fibers all over. I sent pictures to the owner and called. Man who did the cleaning came back and cleaned up those areas that I saw, and left additional cleaner if other spots were found, which I did find. I went around and retucked areas that still had enough carpet left after having been cut. Some gaps remain. Seam still lumpy Wished I had never had it done as it wasn't that bad.

We hired GLR Kitchen and Bath remodeling to do two full bathroom remodels, our guest bathroom, and…read moreour master bathroom, install a vanity area in our bedroom, and install some windows. We signed a contract for about $45,000 worth of work in December 2021 and work didn't start until May 2022. They started a week early and went over deadline about 3 weeks. There were days people didn't even show up. They pushed and pushed for full payment on a job that was not even close to being finished and when we refused to give them the final payment until the job was completed, with lots of back and forth, they told us they were done with our job and not coming back. Our final punch list was a page long, full shower glass enclosures in both bathrooms were never installed, wainscot wall coverings were incomplete and not installed well, sloppy seams and wood trim throughout, painting and drywall work was sloppy, chipped tiles and some of the new custom cabinetry was marred. We wanted to keep our existing wood trim but most of it got ruined by the elements because of their carelessness. The wood trim they used to replace ours was a different kind of wood, stained two shades too dark and wood filler was two shades too light. They left paint rollers hanging in trees, paint spills on the driveway and nails in the driveway which punctured our car tires. They continued to make it very clear that the contract was a fixed rate contract however they didn't honor that, specifically the wainscot material, they said the original material cost increased significantly and gave us two other material options to choose from that were significantly cheaper, so their contract was most definitely not a fixed rate contract. They failed to order material in a timely manner and expected us to eat it and go with a lower quality material. We also ordered $4,500 worth of custom bedroom furniture about halfway thru that we never received and after they told us they weren't coming back we asked for our furniture deposit back, which they refused, they sent us pictures of the furniture frames, with no drawers, knobs or finish and told us to come get it since material was already paid for. This is just bad business. We contacted the NC Contractors licensing board to file a complaint and learned our contract was illegal because their license wasn't valid when we signed the initial contract. That investigation is still pending. We ultimately had to hire our own glass company for the shower glass install and a new plumber to come out and fix low water pressure in both showers and zero hot water in the guest shower. The new plumber found wood chips in the shower heads and told us they used natural gas line pipe dope instead of Teflon tape to seal the connections, there are no gas lines in our home. We were left having to fix all the mismatched wood trim, sloppy paint, drywall and several other issues ourselves. GLR Kitchen and Bath remodeling cannot handle a big job and I would never recommend this company to do work, big or small, in your home.
