I called Meadowlark ahead of time to find out if they work on such a problem and the guy (with an accent) said he would "have to see it". I said 'no problem' I'll bring in one of the pieces for you to see. Well today I brought in a piece, a Donna Karen blouse that I paid about $800 for. When I asked the man behind the counter if he was the man I spoke to on the phone about the damaged designer items, he said he 'didn't know'. I replied 'no problem', and explained the issue with the damaged clothing and showed him the blouse. He didn't say much, or offer any suggestions, so to move the conversation along, I gave him two choices: 1. I can remove the white spots myself then bring the items back for normal dry cleaning. Or 2. They could remove the white spots along with the dry cleaning. He said "what ever I want". I replied, "Well have you seen this type of problem before?", and he said "yes". I then asked, "So how would you remove the spots?", and he replied "I'm not going to tell you". I was stunned. It appears I am not allowed to know what chemicals they would be using on my (expensive) items. This has to be the worse customer service experienced I have ever had and I am 59 years old. This guy MUST be a relative of the owner because there are a LOT of other people, even teenagers, that could provide a far superior consumer experience. If one of my employees ever said those words to one of our clients, and I don't care in what capacity, they would be fired on the spot. I will NEVER go back here. There is no way I wouldn't let this guy touch any of my valuables, no way. Attached is a pic of the two racks of designer clothes that need dry cleaning. A big order that will now go to their competitor who I see has over 200 five star reviews. There's my silver lining!

After finally getting fed up, someone recommended Ace Cleaners (which is in the same location of the old Gold Coast Skate Shop from back in the 80's, which the amusing irony of going from skateboards to dry cleaning made me feel old.) So far I've been there a few times for dry cleaning and once for alterations and every time the experience has been excellent. The staff is very friendly, the quality of the workmanship is impeccable and their pricing is super reasonable (didn't want to use the word "cheap" due to the potential derogatory connotation.) They got my dress turned around in 5 days and got it to me last minute before my wedding - I am so happy! In addition, the person helping me was so friendly, took her time to pin my dress and showed me all the different options we could do for a bustle before I decided what I wanted: this was SO nice and something the other tailor I used simply would not take the time to do.
