For most of my life, I went to Great Clips or places like that for haircuts, which suited me just fine. I never looked for anything fancy or any significant change to my hair style. At the same time, I didn't know what it meant to be pampered and given personal attention by a barber until right before I got married, and my father brought me to his barber at the Classic Barbershop. I got a haircut, shampoo, and shave with everything personalized the way I wanted it. I went back there a year or two later and while my father's barber no longer worked there, I met Lidiya, who has been helping me every other month ever since. Every time I go, I see both grownups and kids getting haircuts. During the pandemic, I tried out having facial hair and learned a lot about beards and mustaches. While I no longer have either, I trust that I can get what I need at Classic Barbershop whether I had facial hair or not. I also appreciate that they are open daily. Lidiya texts to remind me after I stopped by and again when about six weeks have gone by, which is the perfect reminder to set up my next appointment. I can set up an appointment by texting her or calling her usually for any day I want though times depend on other appointments that she has for that day. The more advance notice, the better. It's nice to have good customer service and a point person to stay connected with. I assume the other barbers are similar in this regard, though I've always really appreciated Lidiya! While the prices have continued to increase like anywhere else, they still have some special deals by combining different services. As of today, "The Deal" is the the premier bundle they offer of a haircut, shampoo, and shave for $60. They offer student or military special discounts as well as special discounts for hair cuts for kids, teenagers, and seniors. I walked in the shop with my boyfriend because he is very unsure of how to say how he likes his haircut and we walked in and the guy was immediately rude to us he's he told us to come over there and sat my boyfriend in the chair and immediately was like what does he want. no nice introduction whatsoever and then when I gave him instructions on how he would like his hair done he immediately rushed me through it and then didn't take time to understand what I was saying and didn't even give me a chance to show him a picture. And then when I looked back to see how the haircut was going I noticed it was way too short and not what we had asked for at all and when he noticed my reaction he asked me what's wrong and then proceeded to blame it all on me saying that I didn't do a well enough explanation and that I should've shown him a picture, mind you this whole interaction was about five minutes and he gave me no time to react or make me feel like he cared about what I was saying. Then after that he didn't even apologize for ruining my boyfriend's hair which I could tell on his face he was already upset about. and then even after that he proceeded to give him a mullet which is not even what we asked for and it looked HORRIBLE so I asked him to take the back off and even though both of us were upset he had no remorse and almost acted like he was annoyed that I wasn't happy with his job. The whole haircut took him about 10 minutes and he rushed the whole thing. And then when I got cashed out the cashier was rude when I said I didn't wanna leave a tip because I was unhappy with the service and kept asking me if I was sure. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place because the whole vibe was just off very rushed and I felt like even though we were unhappy no one cared or even offered a way to fix it. read more

My son has very difficult hair. If he were a gal, he'd have beautiful long hair but he's a dude and has short hair that is difficult and un-tamely. He has alfalfa type stick up in your head hair. I would not recommend going here at all. My first two visits were fine, but I noticed a very big downgrade in quality along with some shady business being practiced afterwards. Every time you try to get a cut, they will try to force and upsell their services to the point where you can't even enjoy getting a regular cut. When you don't accept the additional services like shampoo, beard trim, shave, etc... they will purposely rush on your hair and move you out the door. Lastly, I had big issues with payment. The barber always tries to rush me to Wells Fargo next door to pull out cash because they're too frugal to accept a credit card transaction fee even after they're getting a tip. And as you can probably imagine, anything from American Express is looked at to them as the devil's card. Not a great place overall until they can improve on these issues and be honest.
