The very definition of unnecessary pretension!…read more This pretentious place doesn't belong in Bonita Springs. More like 5th Avenue Naples. It would fit right in down there. I live right around the corner from this joint. I was riding my bike past when I heard a band playing inside. They sounded fun, so I walked inside to see the band and to sample their cocktails, since I had never been inside before. I was alone. A few seconds after entering, an employee asked me "How many in your party?" I said, "Just me." The employee said "Follow me." and escorted me back out the front door! Turns out there was a wait list for entering! For one person? There was plenty of room inside the joint for one person to enter and enjoy the music. There was no call to have a solo occupant on their every first experience inside this place to be escorted out 30 seconds after going inside. That's the very definition of inhospitable! If I had been in a party of 2, 3, 4, 5 or 8 people, I would have understood having to wait outside until there was room. But I was by myself! Not only that, there is a large patio in the back of the place for overflow, but instead of letting their waiting guests sit back there comfortably, the owners of this place prefer to have their customers line up like cattle outside the front door like it is trying to be Studio 54 or some urban night club with a fake wait list. I have never been escorted out of a bar before, especially to create the illusion the place was more popular and too busy to accept a single person when there was A TON OF ROOM INSIDE. It was extremely annoying and totally pretentious. I won't be going back to this place, ever. Not hospitible in the least! Negative stars, if it was possible.

Turns out they have an incredible happy hour, but we were truly interested in dinner... So we asked for a table. The interior at Stone Throw is beautiful, well decorated, and in a great location on Cape Coral Parkway with ample parking. Our waiter, Shawn, was quick to greet us and offer drinks. Husband had some beer questions, and Shawn was ready with answers/suggestions. Being a red wine girl, I happily ordered a bottle from their ample list. We started with an appetizer of brussels sprouts. They were absolutely amazing with pecans... Not something we have had before. Highly recommend. I opted for their prime fillet, Husband had steak Diane. I cannot say enough good about these steaks. We've been to some of the best stake establishments from Naples to Punta Gorda, this ranks right up there! I did get the lobster tail add on, it was the most flavorful lobster tail I ever had in southwest Florida. Overall, one of the better meals we have had in our years of living in SWFL. Shawn kept our drinks (and waters) full, and was absolutely charming during our entire experience. He was always watching and nearby, but not obtrusive. He packed our leftovers for us, and then bagged the containers. Great touch, Shawn! Kudos to the manager who walks around to tables and asks about your meal, what brings you in, and if there's anything he can do to make your trip more enjoyable. Fabulous touch! I truly cannot recommend this place more highly. Will definitely be back! Five stars, Stones Throw!

Coincidentally, I had just added a few new places to my Yelp collection from my "Wagyu burger" search moments earlier. Sip & Sizzle was on the list. It didn't disappoint. We got in w/o a reservation on an off-season Saturday night. Service was excellent. Drink menu was fun. Lots of yummy concoctions at fairly reasonable prices. But it's the wagyu beef that I can't stop thinking about today. We got the hot stone, where you basically finish cooking your proteins on the stone at your table. I was a little under-confident about this, but our helpful waiter Cody promised he'd be there to help. It wasn't needed. Unless you don't know how to cook or grill at all, I suppose. The Wagyu was out of this world. I had tuna as well, which was quite tasty potatoes au gratin were outstanding. And a polenta, which was good even better with the garlic butter on it. Cody recommended the right sauce for my proteins. I'm glad I asked this help on that. I was a little worried the menu was somewhat confusing overall as related to the stone, but in the end, my bill was very reasonable for the top-notch experience and delicious food.

The margarita was average. The spinach and artichoke dip tasted watered down and lacked much flavor. Almost like frozen spinach that hadn't been drained properly. We ordered the Italian sandwich, turkey club, and a smash burger with truffle fries. The Italian sandwich was the only thing that was completely finished, though the polenta side was okay. The smash burger was a disappointment, especially because our son normally devours burgers, and most of it was left behind. The truffle fries were also not worth the extra $3 for the small tin. The turkey club was underwhelming. Unfortunately, when everyone at the table leaves food behind, not because they're full, but because they simply didn't enjoy it, that says a lot. I was really eager to try Sip and Sizzle, so it's a shame that our first experience wasn't better. Based on lunch, it's probably not somewhere we'll be returning to.

Just one word: EXCEPTIONAL!…read more The place looks gorgeous, the decor is so tropical and chic... then you look at the menu and you find so many interesting options!
