Service was spectacular, Food was fresh and delicious. Margarita's were really delicious as well. Highly recommend.

It was a very nice place with a great atmosphere. Really well kept and super clean. The service was great and so was the food. Glad we went at lunch because the prices were pretty steep but there was a lunch special menu that was more affordable. We knew it would be a bit pricey but when we saw the menu we were a bit shocked by the prices. Like I said though, the lunch special menu was perfect for us. The food was very fresh, delicious and well presented. Got a large beer and it was huge! It was a beautiful restaurant but expensive. Great for a date!

    Mexican Chorizo Queso

Our food was quite tasty. We started with the queso chorizo which we really enjoyed. We ordered the fajita trio as our entree to share which was plentiful for 2 people. All the food we had was well made and pretty close to authentic. The salsa provided for the chips was on the watery side and a far cry from authentic. The Ambiance was very nice. Their decor was very appropriate to the Mexican culture. A very big restaurant with plenty of space for all size parties. Service from our waiter was great. Very attentive and our order was 100% what we asked for. Only situation we ran into was Yelp offered a check in coupon to use while on our visit. Said we could claim a free drink while eating from a choice of house margarita, glass of wine or a domestic beer. The waiter asked the manager how to process the coupon and the manager came to say it was no longer a valid coupon. There was no expiration in the terms of this coupon maybe worth $7 of a drink. Manager came to our table with some huge excuse how a previous manager created the promo and they have not taken it off of yelp. I am a firm believer if its advertised you honor the promotion and take care of your customer. This is the reason my review is midrange.

    Raspberry Margarita on the rocks

I went to visit and checkout Monarca's Authentic Mexican Cuisine Bar & Grill. I walked in and was greeted by a very friendly and courteous young man who asked me if I wanted a table and instead, I went and sat at the bar. The bartender, Paola, was a delight. She was so kind and helpful. I ordered a Raspberry Margarita on the rocks and it was delicious. I really liked all of the very unique and royal decor. The music they had playing was very cool too and added to the ambiance of the restaurant. The menu offered a lot of typical Mexican dishes and it was somewhat expensive for what was offered, compared to different Mexican restaurants in town, and that's the only reason I gave it a 4 star and not a 5 star. I saw some of the food coming out of the kitchen and it was all smoking hot and looked and smelled delicious. Overall, pretty good experience.

Chicken "enchiladas." Note the cream sauce. Huh?

This is a very bad Mexican restaurant. Food cold, chicken dry, no spice in the taco meat. One of the worst restaurants I've ever been in. They served enchiladas with flour tortillas! Said they ran out of corn tortillas. Hardly fit for human consumption. Shockingly bad. Service was fine.

    Greasy quesadilla

My wife and I have been to this Mexican restaurant several times. This is the first time in about four months. The rice had no flavor. The quesadilla was totally greasy and was unable to pick up...the soft tacos were average with no flavor. Spent 60 bucks and truly feel like I've been robbed. I Do not mind paying my hard earned money for good food, but it truly sucks when you spend your hard earned money for food that's horrible. Will not be back.

This place is a true hidden gem! Not only is the place absolutely beautiful the food is AMAZING! Service was fantastic, shout out to Carlos! He took great care of us! 10/10 HIGHLY recommend!

I was very disappointed in this restaurant. Service was very slow. The pomegranate martini did not taste like a pomegranate martini at all, and I really don't see the point of adding Tajin and cherries. It was a weird flavor combination. And I ordered an appetizer that was supposed to be shrimp and crab and it came out with no crab whatsoever. When I spoke with the manager they made me another one and this time the crab was actually little bits of that imitation surimi, no real crab meat at all, and definitely not worth $29.99. The Birria tacos were okay, but not worth coming back for. A practically empty restaurant at lunchtime should have been my first clue.

It's $16.99 on their menu, but they charged me almost $19.00 for it. Pissed off!
    Ed C.

I ordered the Charly burrito. It's $16.99 (see current menu pic) but they charged me $1 dollar extra with no explanation. They added another $1.49 for chicken on the burrito with no explanation, all they did was ask me if I wanted ground beef or chicken. I chose chicken. The ground beef burrito concept in a Mexican restaurant is gross. Even more gross they don't tell their customers the meat inside your burrito is going to cost you $1.49 more. In addition I was also was charged $5.00 more for an item I didn't even order, waiter would not fix. I overpaid almost $8 more than what my bill should've been when adding the tax. Upon trying to fix the bill, waiter apologized but nobody would correct/adjust. I will never come to any of these restaurants again. Shame on them for stealing from customers, disgusting people.

What a beautiful building with such amazing atmosphere. It feels as if you are the land of Spanish monarchs. Yep the name in English translation to monarchs. I was very excited to check in because if you check in on the Yelp app it gives you a coupon for a free house margarita. My hubby and I were seated in a quaint booth where I was looking forward to refreshment on the hot summer day. I downloaded the coupon. Only good for a certain number of hours on that day. My server greeted me and so excitedly showed him the coupon from Yelp for my free house margarita. To which he replied. Oh that os non weekends. I said but this is from the Yelp app and it didn't state not valid on weekends. He said I'm sorry not on weekends. Major bummer! I had to state that my coupon was used in order to give my review. It wouldn't let me out of the app. What a catch 22. So very disappointing. They need to state that on the Yelp app. Anyway, I ordered a margarita and it wasn't priced too badly. The entrees were priced a little high but my hubby and I shared a meal and it was perfect portioned for the two of us. Chips and sAlsa were delicious as well as our meal. We ordered the Chimichanga shredded beef along with fried ice cream for dessert. The food was absolutely delicious along with my margarita. I would have given them a 5 star review but since they wouldn't honor the yelp coupon and I had to mark it used without being able to actually use it is why they didn't get 5 stars.

Fish tacos were dry. The Mahi Mahi was overcooked. The prices were too high for the quality of food. I would never go here again.

When Mr.Roberto greeted us it truly felt like he was welcoming us into his home. We were seated and I ordered a lime house margarita and the jalapeño queso to start. The margarita blew me out of the water. It was so delicious I had to stop myself from getting another one (maybe on the weekend hehehe) the queso came out warm and Cheesey just how you want it! They give chips and salsa to start. Three types in a bottle and a pico type in a container. This is wonderful for me because I am a little baby when it comes to spice so I enjoyed the flavorful mild (green) while my boyfriend was a fan of the dark red really spicy one! For our mains we both got tacos he got the carne asada soft shell taco combo which came with three and I got the taco supreme which came with 2 mine were hard shell with a layer of cheese and then a soft shell. I really appreciate how they use shredded cheese on the tacos I got- it was very authentic and reminded me of actual Mexican food from Mexico and not this east coast Mexican food I can't seem to get away from in FL! We finished off the night with the flaun which was creamy and the perfect way to end this feast. We had to go boxes when we left and a beautiful heartfelt conversation with Mr.Roberto. He was full of pride, kindness, and personality. He made sure to visit every table and the atmosphere made me never want to do a to go order because then you'd be missing out of all the immaculate vibes. I can't wait to go back!

Tucked in the shopping plaza at Winkler / Gladiolus in Ft Myers, this cute and cozy spot has easy access to and from the beach and close to Health Park hospital. There are booths and a few tables for seating and to-go orders were available and certainly popular on our visit. The decor was festive and soft Mexican music played in the background. Bottled Mexican sodas, can sodas and beer are available. We chose sodas and chips and salsa to start as we scanned the menu. Please note, this is not like going to a typical American Mexican restaurant were chips and salsa come complimentary; you'll pay for a basket of fresh, hot, crispy tortilla chips and a 3 types of fresh salsa : green, spicy red and a creamy green. All were exceptional and fresh. Hubby ordered combo fajitas; beef and chicken. It came with a generous side of beans, rice and tortillas. I ordered the chicken flautas which also came with a side of beans and rice. Fajitas; meats were juicy and vegetables were cooked perfect. The flour tortillas were homemade and perfect taco size. Chicken flautas were crispy with a nice helping of shredded lettuce and cream sauce atop. We both enjoyed the refried beans and rice. Although my only complaint would be a bit more seasoning as I did use salt. Service was friendly, swift and efficient. The restaurant was tidy and clean. Definitely an easy laid back vibe. Can't wait for our next visit; I eyed the chicken nachos and they looked divine!
