I have been debating on writing this review for a while now. About three weeks ago I slid into…read morecurve in a snow storm. Blew out the front right tire and broke the rim. Needed a new rim so on Monday of that week I emailed what happened and arranged for service on Friday. When I arrived I explained why I was there, that I also needed help with my Toyota app on my phone and that I wanted a service tech to check things out to see if there was more damage. Eventually they replaced the rim and got my app working. They then told me that the wheel bearing was bad and needed replacing. They gave me an estimate and said it would take a day or two to get the part. I called the next Monday and made an appointment for that Friday. I asked how long it would take, explaining I had an appointment at 3 PM. She, the service tech, stated it would take an hour to an hour and a half. Okay can deal with that. I get there that Friday and check in. The service rep asked why I was there and I told him about replacing the wheel bearing and that I again needed s0omeone to fix my toyota app on my phone because it stopped working. He started writing everything up when another service rep, same one that took care of me the week before, came up and said he was taking over. This rep said he needed to ask a few questions for the warranty. I had not then or before mentioned anything about the warranty. He asked if I had been in an accident. Strange, I had told him the week before what happened but I guess he either didn't remember or didn't write it down. When I told him about the accident he replies "good, that changes everything". He proceeded to ask questions about why I thought the wheel bearing was bad and to describe it to him. I did but became suspicious because he was the one that told me it was bad and needed replacing. When I brought that up he said that the service tech who worked on my vehicle a week earlier was good at his job but didn't have experience in this situation. He said he had a guy who did and he would look at it, test drive it and put it on the diagnostics to be sure. I asked how long everything was going to take and he said the rest of the afternoon. This isn't what I was told when I set up the appointment. When I brought this up he said she, the person i orginally talked with, didn't have all the information. I told him I couldn't do this appointment, that I didn't have the time. I told him I had an appointment at 3pm, it was 1:30pm then. He again said no problem. I again said I couldn't do it. He said we could just do the diagnostician and there was plenty of time. I again told him I had a 3pm appointment to pick up my brother from his dialysis. Again no problem. At 3:10 pm, having just taken a call from my brother to find out where I was, I was called to the service desk where I was told that the wheel bearing was in fact needing replaced. At this point I am furious and didn't trust myself to say anything. He charged me $172 for the diagnostic but would take it off the estimate for replacing the wheel bearing. Then he asked if I wanted to make an appointment for the wheel bearing. I thought that was the purpose of this appointment. I told him no, paid the bill and left. I feel that I have been the victim of a bait and switch scam. Everything that service did and said was bogus and untruthful. They first tell you it needed replacing and then tell you the first service tech was incumbent, have a "qualified service rep" look at it to make the right determination. And charge you $172 for it. Also they never looked at the Toyota app either. Plus, after being repeatedly told I had an appointment at 3pm, they kept me from making that appointment. I have decided not to have this company do any repairs on my vehicle. I was going to take it to anther Toyota dealer near by to have the work done but their yelp rating is worst than this. So I will have to get an independent shop to do the work, and then see about trading off this vehicle for something new that I can trust and believe in its' service department. I had trusted this company but can no longer. They obviously can't be trusted.

I went to the nearest tire shop, and they couldn't fit me in, so they referred me to Dahl Auto Service/Dahl Subaru which comes up in Google as Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center, Dahl Hyundai Service, and Dahl Mazda, all with 711 3rd St address in La Crosse. Yes, Google needs updating. I called them, and they said they had room to get mr in and out before they closed at Noon (it was a Saturday). Jason was the service advisor that checked me in, and he was great! He told me they had an auto museum next door that I could visit for free, since my car was being serviced there, and that place was amazing! I wrote a separate review for it. My car was ready in an hour, and I made it home safely with the tire repair. They have clean and spacious waiting areas with nice amenities, including coffee, a big TV, a kids play area, conference table, and oh yeah, an amazing auto museum next door. Whatever happened to lead to bad reviews before may have been addressed because I was thrilled with my experience from the customer service to the quality of work and price of the tire repair. Give them a try!

I purchased a 2014 Toyota Rav4 Limited from DAHL Hyundai Mazda Subaru in Lacrosse Wisconsin in May…read more2025. It had around 113,600 miles at the time and although it had just arrived on the lot, an inspection was done and no issues were found. After buying the vehicle, I took it back to DAHL when it was time for an oil change as I was given a few free changes. The vehicle now has around 122,000 miles. At the beginning of 2026 the Rav began misfiring and stalling (even turning off while driving) in addition to a loud engine noise especially when starting. I brought it to DAHL service and was told I was going to need the timing chain and/or engine replaced which would cost $6000-$8000. I also was given the option of trade in but the value offered for the vehicle was only going to be $4500. I still have just under $5000 to pay on my loan and already have paid $15k+ on the vehicle. Deciding a second opinion would be best, I had my vehicle towed to a smaller repair shop in Lacrosse. Without even a deep inspection the immediately affirmed I had correctly concluded the need to replace the entire engine and timing chain was not necessary (especially at such low mileage for a Toyota). Based off their diagnostics, including the code readings, they replaced the solenoids and cam gear. The vehicle was running well but after only a few days once again, started misfiring and stalling. I had to get jumped to even get it back to the shop which is only a few miles away. The shop again did the code readings and also tested the oil pressure and it was very off, so it was deemed best to do a change. When accessing the oil components, they found the center post that goes through the filter was missing. This means that DAHL who changed my oil previously, left the post in the filter housing which caused all the issues. After putting in the new cup the pressure was back to normal and the vehicle ran perfectly, again proving the missing post in the housing was the overall problem. Since having the Rav returned to me, I have not had any further issues. All in all, the work done (replacing solenoids, cam gear, oil filter/cup and oil change) cost me about a $1000. All due to DAHL messing up a simple oil change! I have all the paperwork, the actual filter showing the missing center post, and word of testament from the smaller shop. Besides messing the oil change up by misplacing the center post of the filter, DAHL also lost my coolant reservoir cap! I was told I "needed a new one" when I had my vehicle looked at but the thing is, it was there when I bought the vehicle and no one but DAHL has done maintenance on the Rav so again, they misplaced a simple component! I will never recommend DAHL service to anyone nor will I return there. Quite frankly, I should be compensated because there was no reason I had to spend all this money and go through all this trouble! Although I enjoyed my initial experience when I purchased the vehicle, my dealings with DAHL are most definitely going to be continually impacted by this extremely negative and costly service ordeal.
