Staff is either outright rude or just generally unfriendly. Doctor is friendly but rushes the exam. GO anywhere else.

He actually gave me a full exam and wrong prescription - because i had an extra contact lens in my eye! of course, I did not know, but don't you think he should have seen in?! I kept telling him I wasn't seeing right and what my presctiption is for years. I explained on phone what I found, they told me they understood and would call me right back, which occurred 3 times with no return call or appointment. I paid for a wrong prescription and they didn't care the least. Upon the 3rd or 4th call, they said, "I find that very hard to believe". I said, ME TOO! I've held off on writing this for MONTHS. I just had to say it. I saved the bad prescription.

I couldn't believe how unprofessional and mean-spirited someone in her position could be. I went to this appointment expecting to be treated with basic respect, and instead I was humiliated. Her words were cruel, unnecessary, and completely out of line. I was so upset, l left the office in tears. Someone like that should not be working in a place where patients are supposed to feel safe and cared for. I will never forget how she made me feel, and I seriously hope Visionworks addresses this behavior. No one deserves to be judged or shamed like that.

Upon arriving, the waiting area is clean and orderly; as I mentioned, the receptionist was very professional and friendly; and I was taken on-time. The pleasant experience came to a screeching halt once you pass through the reception area doors into the exam area. I met with the person who does your initial eye exam. She was like a machine. No pleasantries, no personality, no communication except the orders to do this or do that. I was then moved to the room where the doctor meets with you to complete the exam... I was surprised to find a completely disheveled person walking in. Although the office was not crowded and was clearly running on time, his pants seemed to be on fire--what's the rush, this is my time don't make me feel like I'm an inconvenience. From the first words he spoke, he was just nothing but rude and abrupt. His communication skills are a disgrace. He asked why I was there. I said I hadn't had an eye exam in quite some years and wanted to get new lenses. He gave me the eye test to read out the letters. In the middle of my reading off the letters, he picked up the phone to bark some kind of order to a staff member. When he switched over the other eye, he opened the door to the exam room to give some kind of instructions (unrelated to me or my exam) to another staff member. By the last line of reading off the letters on the exam, I was pausing, squinting and guessing at the letters. He turned the machine off, threw himself into a chair and barked at me that I had 20/20 vision. I said: Really? That's funny because I've been wearing glasses for distance for 20 years and when I'm driving at night I can't read any signs without them and that I also find I need them when I go to the movie theatre. I stated that just because I got the letters right doesn't mean they were clear or that it wasn't a strain to read them. His response? Well, some doctor at some point decided you needed glasses. You'll have to bring in your old glasses for me to do anything else for you, come back next week. What ever happened to the part of the exam where they put lenses in front of your eyes and you state whether it was clearer, blurrier, etc. I'd like OPTIMAL vision even if in some abrasive, obnoxious doctor's opinion I have 20/20 vision. I don't know why he would need to my old glasses to figure out the optimal prescription for my needs. What if I had lost or broken them, then what? I can never get glasses again? So I cancelled my follow up appointment and I'm using my secondary insurance (which I luckily have) to get an exam and material somewhere else. If I didn't have secondary insurance, I would have to pay for another exam out of my own pocket. Don't waste your time, money and/or benefits on someone who's an obnoxious jerk and who clearly doesn't know how to interact like a civil, professional, educated human being. And to the Doctor: for Pete's sake, clean yourself up and look presentable and professional. A few communication courses and how to treat people with courtesy and respect would go a long way.

I have to give 5 stars I'd give more if I could…read more I was in the hospital a couple of years ago and Dr Senft was the Dr who had come check my eyes -cuz I had face planted in the hospital. So here I am in my room, bed ridden, talking to the family who is visiting me (cuz they love me sooo much) - it was like 11pm at night, and as medicated as I was- In walks Dr. Senft-- I thought "Self, I don't know any Dr's that is actually -actually willingly... see patients so late", but here he is, dropping drops, shining super bright lights in my eyes and diagnosing away-- I was grateful and humbled that he did. There is something to be said, about having an EYE DR take care of you versus a grocery store mall eye Dr. I will never subject my eyes to the later again. My eyes, like my heart are very very important to me. My husband and I agreed- at that moment- Dr. Senft was our new family eye Dr. Fast forward to this last December, I go for my regular eye appointment with Dr. Senft and bam!! he scopes out that my left optic nerve is swollen- and not like, ya okay it will go away and --- I can just ignore it and it will be fine--- NOPE! He says this is no joke, this is serious. I immediately sit up and think crap! "another fine mess you've gotten yourself into Ollie" He asks me a bunch of questions and my answers are vague, because, frankly, I have become accustomed to telling Dr's I have a medical concern and they blow it off, but not Dr Senft, nope! he wanted answers, he is no nonsense, so I tell him, headaches, blurred vision etc etc... so he says I am sending you to another Eye Dr... I said okay- can we do it later I got an appt-- he looks at me -it was the look ....ya know... we have all had "the look"-- Uh okay-this Issssss serious. So walks out to make the call to the other Dr, and I call my husband who is on the other side of the country and tell him the issue and then I call my BF Tammy and they are both like- good grief charlie brown- ya that's me. At this point, my family kinda just rolls with my health, and it just got serious. Long and short of it- if it wasn't for him catching this on an appointment that was just my random eye check-up, I would be in a far-far-far different situation. He sent me to the specialist and that review is to follow. But if you need a great eye Dr that cares about his patients and I mean this in the most sincerest way, then you sincerely need to see Dr. Senft. Thank you.
