They picked up my car when two other companies in town declined simply because there were a few tree branches that might have slightly scratched their tow trucks. Was stuck in Niles with a battery that needed a jump start. The guys arrived quickly, got my SUV going, and were great in general. It was only a simple procedure but the service was necessary and the cost was minimal at $25.00. Recommended. read more

For the record, I have never had my vehicle towed by Clark's Service Towing; my experience with them was limited to interacting with one of their drivers after he ran a red light and hit my vehicle--as well as one other--at the intersection of 17th Street and Oak Street. Thanks to the safety features of my vehicle, I was not injured--however, my brand-new Escape sustained about $16,000 in damages and was not driveable. As I extricated myself from the vehicle, the tow truck driver came ambling over from where he had finally come to a stop--well past the intersection--and immediately asked, "Well, who do you want to tow you? I obviously can't," and then proceeded to list the various other companies in town, never bothering to ask if I was all right. I informed him that I would worry about that after I called the police, to which he replied that he already had. Angry and in utter disbelief over his attitude about the situation, I told him, "I'm PRETTY certain I had a green light!" He replied, "Oh, yeah, you probably did," as if it were no big deal and wandered off. I went to retrieve my phone from my vehicle and realized that it was ringing--one of the safety features in the vehicle had triggered a phone call to 911 when the airbags deployed, and the 911 call center was calling my phone back. I told the operator that the police had been phoned already and gave her my location so that she could verify that help was on the way--and she informed me that the police had NOT, in fact, received any calls about an accident at that intersection, contrary to what the tow truck driver had said. I was shocked by the driver's casual attitude and disgusted by the fact that he had obviously lied about phoning the police. Faced with this attitude from their employee, I honestly wasn't surprised that Clark's Towing never once even called to offer any kind of apology or check that I wasn't hurt. I honestly wasn't going to write anything publicly about it...except today (two months after the accident), when I was getting ready to leave work and happened to see a Clark's truck cruise past me with the driver TALKING ON HIS CELLPHONE WHILE BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A 10,000 LB VEHICLE. I was not injured in the accident (except for some pretty serious bruising from my seat belt) but if I had been a smaller vehicle or if the truck had struck me closer to the center instead of on the rear passenger side, I might have been. Clark's obviously does not keep tabs on what their drivers are doing or care about the safety of the others on the road, and I am afraid that their negligent attitude as a company is going to end up getting somebody killed one of these days. read more

Tonight I received amazing service fro this company. The owner went above and beyond to help me out after I had an issue with my key. He stood out in the cold waiting with me to make sure everything worked out okay even though it wasn't necessary. His integrity is rare in todays world and I truly appreciate what he and his wife did tonight. Clark's Service Towing lied to try to avoid coming out on a damp night by claiming that the insurance company's credit card was declined. We're pretty sure that an insurance company, with a portfolio in excess of $84 BILLION pays their Visa bill on time. It wasn't until the police from the City of Niles called Clark's that they finally felt compelled to show up to where the car needed a winch. Once on the scene, the driver was extraordinarily rude acting as if he was incredibly inconvenienced by actually having to do his job. Perhaps Clark's Service Towing feels entitled because they have a contract with the City of Niles and that somehow that earns them the right to treat a mother with three children stranded in a ditch with contempt and disrespect. His behavior was so horrible that he made several people in the car literally cry. Clark's Service Towing is a poor reflection on the City of Niles and a reminder of how monopolies can be a nightmare for a community. read more

After having my truck break down on the side of the road and returning to find my vehicle towed i was introduced to Clarks towing. After arriving to the place of business and stepping over the piles of dog crap that were just inside the front door i was greeted (or not) by the rudest most unhelpful staff I have ever encountered. There business model is "we have your car and we can treat you however we feel because you have to pay us to get your car back". After scrounging to come up with the money to get my car out I was pleased to walk to the lot and finally get in my truck only to realize the idiots left the headlights on and the battery was dead. To my shock they wanted to charge me to jump my car. After i called a friend to come jump my car (for free) I was finally out of there. This place better hope it doesn't lose its contract with the city of Niles MI because they clearly lack the skills to run a business. read more
