I was super like WTF when my Mom dropped the bomb on me that I needed to go to SAS to get work shoes. While SAS has known for fabulously comfortable and ergonomic shoes, they are far from having the latest trends and styles. I mean, there are a few shoes that I would rock for irony reasons, but that is about it. So, you can imagine how I was feeling while in there. So, I go in with my Mom and I'm immediately greeted by the staff and by the ladies shopping. They were all soooo nice. While I was underwhelmed by the shoe designs, I did lay my eyes on a cute pair of Mary Janes that were right up my alley for work. The sales lady took her time and measured my feet (turns out I wear a size smaller in decent shoes), and explained my feet quirks to me and how to remedy my extremely flat feet. So, since we were unsure which would work better, we ordered two different sizes and widths. I was called when they came, tried them on, and color me shocked- they were too big. The cool policy at SAS is that you are not obligated to buy what is ordered at all. It is all about getting you the best fit. The sales lady offered to order me a size smaller and they just came in, and again, she reminded me that if they do not work she does not want me to buy them. That is right there is why SAS gets four stars. The ladies are great at what they do and are no pressure. I wish the company had trendier looks for a younger crowd, but other than that, they are gold. PS, I really am thinking of getting the granny sandals. I think I'm hip enough to pull them off the same ironic way I did in the '90's. ;)

After a couple of days of hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Park, i noticed there was a small tear in the inside area of the right boot. I called the NRH store and Jim (I believe that was the salesmans name) was extremely attentive to helping me locate a dealer in the Estes Park or Denver area. After a failed attempt to replace the boots there locally due to not having the same boots, I opted to continue wearing them and then took them back to the store in NRH and Ted, the manager, helped me. He was extremely helpful with my replacement boots and said they stood behind the brand. Said it had to be just a fluke or something. Either way, i left with a new pair replacing the 3 week old pair and with a very nice thank you and come back. I would certainly go back to that store just because of how well they do stand behind their brand and make the transaction so easy. Am I right, gals? We are often in Dallas so when I read that there was a Sarah Flint Pop-Up at my favorite mall - NorthPark - I had to see what all the hype was about. First of all, their customer service was absolutely amazing! I was like a kid in a candy store and tried on several styles in different sizes and they were very patient with me as I walked around their store. This included walking in the back where there are wood floors to see how the pumps felt on a hard surface. Have you noticed how shoe stores have carpeting and you're thinking, these shoes aren't too bad. Then the minute your foot hits tile, cement or any hard surface it's instant pain in the ball of your foot and you feel unsteady as the smooth sole of the shoe slips underneath you. Talk about a balancing act! The first shoe I tried on was The Perfect Pump 85mm. They are leather inside and out. The material feels buttery soft against your skin. And because they're a natural material your foot breathes so no sweaty feet. When my foot stepped onto the wood the pumps felt the same as on carpet! Really! I continued to try on other styles such as the Natalie flat in the color saddle, the Rosie in an assortment of colors and the The Perfect Jay 85mm. But between each style I'd try on The Perfect Pump again, and walk around to see if they still felt good. Like I said, the sales associates were very accommodating and so helpful. Once I decided to take the plunge on the pump in Black they helped me set up an account and were able to add the influencer code for a discount. These shoes are an investment, ladies. However, you'll actually be able to wear these shoes so you'll definitely get your money's worth out of them. The associate told me that if the shoes don't hold up they stand behind them. You just ship them back for repair, free of charge. They also have free shipping and returns if you want to try them yourself and don't live in NYC, Dallas or Nashville. I'm so excited to have a pair of beautifully crafted black pumps. I've found my rainbow unicorn! I recently heard of Sarah Flint and checked out the website thinking I would have to order yet another pair and hope I chose the right size, but then I saw that there was this Dallas store. I drove to the store with another pair of excellent quality suede black heels that I had ordered from another brand, and upon walking into the Sarah Flint store, I was greeted by a friendly sales woman, Ada. I let her know what I was looking for, and she showed me three styles that were all beautiful black suede heeled styles and brought me my size. I typically wear a 9 1/2 or 10 in US sizing, and anywhere from a 40 to 41 in Euro or Italian sizing, so I am often confounded on what size to order. I tried a 40 in the Perfect Emma, Perfect Round Toe Pump, and the Perfect Pump 85 as well as a 41 just to compare. The 40 fit perfectly snug and I chose the Perfect Emma. It is a beautiful shoe. But what really sets it apart is the impeccable construction and the innersole has slight cusioning and arch support which is such a rarity in heels and dress shoes. The shoes are expensive, but I believe an excellent value considering the quality and comfort as well as timeless styles that will truly last. There was one other lady trying on shoes and she seemed to be receiving very attentive and friendly service as well from another associate. If I could give ten stars , I would. So it started with me…read morestepping on the tip of my trusty 20 year old Orvis flyrod. After a brief period of grief I checked the Orvis web site for repair services and it said that any rod that is 25 years old or less, no matter what the circumstances were for damage, would be repaired for free. So I took my broken treasure to the Orvis on Preston Road in Dallas to check out this claim and it tuned out to be as true as written. They took the rod and said it would be 4-6 weeks and it would be shipped to my house. I patiently waited for four of the 4-6 weeks and called to see if they would check on the status. They said it was on track for the six week time frame. I hemmed and hawed and finally asked them if they had a program like a car dealer....a loaner rod while your personal rod was in for service. They said not formally but come by anytime and they would let me borrow a rod. Which I did that afternoon! Caught a bunch of small bass and perch in the Paluxy and the Nolan over the next couple of weeks! A few weeks later I got a package from Orvis at home and I anxiously opened it. It was not my rod....and it was broken in several places! Seemed odd. So I took it to the Preston Road shop again and quizzically asked why would I get a rod that wasn't mine and oh by the way it was broken. They did a little work on the Orivis computer and noted even thought it wasn't explained very well in the communication piece that came to my home, they couldn't repair my twenty year old rod so they were sending me a brand new rod. Well, yay for me, but look...it's snapped in several places. So they proceeded to say that they are sending me another new rod, but we are going to upgrade you to a 2020 version of the 9' 6 wt Orvis Recon and keep the loaner while we get it in the mail to you at home. Caught more bass and perch with the loaner. My beautiful new rod arrived two weeks later and I returned the loaner with a big grin and a thank you. I immediately took the new Recon out to the Paluxy. Moving upstream from the FM 205 bridge I made a backcast, caught it on a tree, made a way too forceful forward cast ....and broke it on the first day out!!!!!! Wow, so the next day I sheepishly returned AGAIN to Orvis with my day old rod and said , "Yes, I am an idiot" , I broke this thing and since I have only had it one day and you guys have been so nice I will pay for a repair. The Orvis folks at Preston Road laughed with (at?) me and said "no way". Our promise of repair no matter what still holds so expect your repaired rod in the mail in 4-6 weeks and here is the same loaner for you to continue fishing in North Texas water! I got the repaired Recon in the mail in the promised time frame, returned the loaner and wrote this review. I also bought a bunch of flies, some new forceps and a fishing shirt since. A customer for life! Thanks Orvis and the Preston Road staff especially the Texas Aggie who helped another Ag get through this craziness!

I get an email confirming the order at that time. Next day I receive an email that one item is not in stock but they will send the other item. I request the order cancelled and my gift card restored and my original credit card refunded. I request this three times with their customer service (the name customer service with Orvis is a lie, no service) but they want help me. Don't shop at Orvis as this is the 2nd time with Orvis this has happed in the last couple of years. No more Orvis, period.
