I was recently in Cheltenham for a week with work and was 'fortunate' enough to be able to take the husband & kids with me.
Unfortunately my 4yr old decided he'd wear a hole in one of his shoes while we were there. Greatdespite my best efforts, I couldn't think of a single place I could get kids shoes and claim it on expenses!
So failing that, we headed to Clarks. This was a pretty-much standard branch as you get in every town centre. The lady who served us was pleasant, not particularly exciting, but perfectly nice. She measured his feet - an achievement, as he usually screams blue murder when the foot guage comes out! - and then brought us a selection of shoes. I'd asked if she could just bring us stuff in the sale, but typically she brought a selection of every price range, and typically my son wanted the most expensive pair available.
So with our backsides smacked to the tune of £28 we left with a pair of shoes. Which, two weeks later, he is complaining hurt his feet. Best £28 I've ever spent. read more
