The Stove Place II Harwich Port, MA…read more My wife and I (Orleans, MA) had to replace our gas fireplace insert recently and The Stove Place 2 (in Harwich Port, MA) was highly recommended to us by several people. Although we initially thought our old gas fireplace simply needed servicing, it quickly became apparent that a total replacement was necessary. We visited The Stove Place 2's Harwich Port shop and spoke with Jeff, the owner. Jeff is a plain-spoken, straight shooter - the only kind I want to work with. He advised us on the models most likely to fit our current firebox, and what our installation options might be. Jeff really knows his business, so we were quickly able to choose the best solution for us. The people we worked with for the actual installation - Jeff, Bob, Dave, and Kent - were fantastic! I do not say this lightly, as I am a fairly tough critic. In short, they did what they said they would do when they said they would do it, and they did it well. Pricing was more than fair, and the customer attention was incredible. That's getting harder and harder to say that these days! Bottom line, if you live on Cape Cod and your fireplace (gas insert or otherwise) needs attention, you owe it to yourself to contact The Stove Place 2. I don't write many reviews, but I mean every word of this one - take that as my highest recommendation.

We moved out of the house and when we returned, could not believe what a fabulous job she did cleaning. I thought my white cabinets were never going to come clean. As it turned out, they look like new! Servpro employees were very caring with my belongings. I can't say enough. Thanks to both Phillip and Najwa for making a very stressful situation go so smoothly. Highly recommend this company.

We had the main water valve to our house break flooding our just renovated basement. Richard and…read morethe Serve Pro team were in our driveway within an hour. They set up drying equipment and cleaned the area. The next day, Phillip Santangelo, the project mgr arrived and stayed in constant contact with me as he coordinated the repairs until the job was completed. Jeremy and his team came 4 days later to remove the fans. Then returned to pull up the water damaged flooring. Their diligent work kept the damage to just 7 floor boards which will be restored next week by Bob, their restoration expert. Phillip and his teams have been truly incredible - their professionalism, response time, communication, diligence and work ethic - all with such calm and kindness - rectified an awful situation in 7 days. Good experience with Durfee back in 2022 so I called them back for ac service in 2025…read more Estimate was 900 to repair. I agreed and told them to proceed. Was called four hours later and told the bill was now $1400 and my system was unable to be repaired but I still needed to pay the repair bill. The technician said he was told by his boss I needed a new system. So, I had to pay the 1400 for absolutely nothing. Called and emailed for several days to get a quote on a new system. No one ever called me back. No one ever responded to my emails or messages. Had a technician from another HVAC visit and he was able to repair the system in 1 hour, charged me $250. Strongly recommend against using Durfee

I initially had a positive experience with Durfee Plumbing & Heating of South Dennis, MA. Sadly,…read morewhat happened next was gross overcharging, unscrupulous pricing and unprofessional customer service. Phil, the owner, was able to resolve our AC issues promptly and charged us $550 after a half day of work. We were pleased with the outcome, left a positive Google review, and decided to transition furnace maintenance to Durfee Plumbing from a local competitor, after we were asked what we currently pay for annual maintenance ($495 for two furnaces). The owner implied we would receive a similar price point to what we are paying currently. On the day for the furnace maintenance, two employees came by and spent less than 45 minutes on the furnace maintenance. I was shocked to later learn that my credit card was charged $1525, or $1000+ over their local competitor pricing, but to add insult to injury I also learned later that they did not service the attic furnace, only the basement furnace. So Durfee Plumbing charged three times as much as I previously paid, for half the job performed. When I saw the credit card charge post to my account, I proceeded to try to contact Phil, the owner. Over the course of two days, I left seven messages with the Durfee Plumbing office. And not once did Durfee Plumbing return our calls. At the end of the second day of trying to contact Phil & Durfee Plumbing, we received notice that a $655 credit will be posted to our credit card. I responded that was still $345 short of the fair price and reminded Phil that only half the job was performed, and my expectation was for a refund of $1000 and for his team to complete the job, which includes the attic furnace maintenance. Overall, after what started out to be a promising plumbing vendor to work with, it is now clear we have been defrauded by Durfee Plumbing. Grossly overcharged relative to other local plumbers on cape cod, services underperformed (only 1/2 the job that was committed to) and very unprofessional customer service practices. Buyer beware of Durfee Plumbing of South Dennis, MA. (pics of receipts from local competitor and Durfee Plumbing attached. Local @ $495 for two furnaces, Durfee Plumbing @ $1525 for one furnace)
