We camped at Clarkco State Park on our way to Florida. The scenery is breathtaking and serene. The campground offers clean and modern bath houses and bathrooms, peaceful walking areas, and lots of areas to explore. I will tell you I'd have given 5 stars if the camping slabs we're easier to access and if the roads back to and throughout the campground we're a bit wider. Somewhat difficult to manuever our travel trailer into our site. The full hookups were placed willy nilly on both sides of the slab. The drive back into the woods to the campground is beautiful. Make sure to roll your windows down so as to smell the southern pines and fresh air.

Stopped for one night on way home. Dec 2018. Beautiful park, full hookups, pet friendly. Nice bathrooms and showers. We will be back. Our RAM 2500 and 30' TT had plenty of room. Very nice and helpful Park Manager.

Needed 30 ft of sewer hose to reach the hookup.

This was our last night at Clarkco state park after being here for 4 days. We were in site 18. Needless to say, these sites need work. They don't offer much for ease of getting in and out of your camper. Our site , we were unable to open our awning, due to trees. We walked around and saw that pretty much all the site pads are narrow and have had a lot of ground erosion around them. Saw a few campers that had almost 30 ft of sewer ran to reach the hookups, including us. Site 16 is the only site that comes close to comfort and ease, its also right in front of the public beach area. Which can take away from your privacy. We have not seen anyone manning the entrance, since we have been here. They have a honor system for day use. We saw day users come in and stop and read the signs, not pay with the honor system and just drive in. We also seen day users cruising the campground areas and just cruising around in circles. Park was pretty nice and for the most part, very quiet.

Camped three nights in a travel trailer. Great get away. It didn't explain the difference between a premium site or standard site when I booked. It looks like the premium sites have concrete pads instead of asphalt with gravel areas for the table. Discounts for seniors/diabled vets are only offered on standard sites. Almost all the sites are shaded and have fire rings. No problems with hookups. Each site has a cement picnic table with wooden benches. The office will bring firewood to your site. They are very helpful. Trails go around the lake, about a 2 mile loop.

The house was new and immaculate with top notch furnishings in and outside. A huge immaculately kept outdoor space for our dog and for grilling , eating and relaxing. Best bang for buck . Front staff beyond belief. May actually make this a destination trip for a week or two and we live 10 hrs away!

We always try to get a spot on the lake with its ducks and beautiful grounds. We were only going to stay one night on our way to Colorado, but we're exhausted after traveling for two days. So we opted to stay the second nite. On Saturdays they have coffee on the porch from 9-10 am. We enjoyed meeting other campers with their doggies and sat and talked while we sipped our coffee. They have added a beautiful pool and kiddie play area. Of course Freckles enjoys her romp in the gated dog park. There are doggie waste bags along the roads, so you can walk your dogs. Some sites have enclosed patios with grills, tables and all the sites have fire pits. It is just delightful to sit outside by the lake and if you like you can catch and release fish. We're looking forward to grilling outside and having a fire. Tomorrow we will be on our way but the memories will stay with us forever!
