Have been a few times, always a good experience. The assistants are super nice, knowledgeable, and Dr. Clark is great.

The dentist came in and looked like a kid that just got out of gym class. Had all these expensive…read moretreatments like crown, crown, crown that he recommended. Another dentist had recommended simply replacing the fillings on those teeth. However, that other dentist also recommended putting two crowns on the front tooth. This little kid dentist missed that completely. When I brought this to his attention, he recommended leaving those teeth alone completely. So, we have two different dentists in two different practices with two different opinions of what needs to be done. The common thread is they both chose expensive procedures but for different teeth. They have this really fancy machine that has a wand on it. It goes in your mouth and creates a 3D image of your teeth. From this 3D image, the little kid dentist made his recommendations. He mentioned one tooth was cracked. Was it cracked or was that a surface stain? A surface image won't show that. If only there was some invention that could show the condition of a tooth on the inside to show cracks, decays. If only someone would invent something that could show the actual condition of the teeth. Oh, yeah, like X-Rays which they took but never referenced. Red flag. They had this round faced girl come in and put pointy things in my mouth and said you need a deep cleaning. I looked at her point blank and said we're not doing that! The look on her face just melted like a snowflake. I told her the old name for this procedure which is called splitting the gums? Guess why it was called that and guess why they changed the name? The financial officer came in with a five page amounting to thousands of what they were going to do. Of that, the insurance would only cover 40%. Very fishy that two dentists say two different thing.

This office is ridiculously over priced! I have great dental insurance and have lived in multiple…read morestates and gone to various dental offices. I have never had any ridiculous out of pocket expenses prior to going to this office. Now even for a simple teeth cleaning I am being charged $149 aside from what my insurance already paid. I will take my business elsewhere. They claim to be in network but overcharge for their procedures so even in simple procedures both patient and insurance pay.

I love their customer service and patient care service. I feel that I received top notch care to the fullest every time I had dental work done. The hygienist was just as amazing and made sure I understood the plan of care as I was being treated by her. Her customer service was exceptional as well. I want to really highlight the office manager Ms. Sumaya because she is the face of the company. I strive on exceptional customer service from the front office, prior to even seeing the providers. She was the first one I met and it has always been a pleasure. She is sweet, caring and sincere. Before leaving, I was never confused about the billing process and charges. Each time I go, I look forward to seeing her beautiful smile that's inviting. Coming from Alaska, I ran across rude customer service in Macon and wasn't used to being treated less in a professional aspect but at the Macon office, you are sure to be treated with respect and get the best care from the providers. I really wish I had remembered the providers names, including the hygienist. Thank you, Team

He wanders around like he's in a band playing at night and this is his day job. True, he walks around with those silly little magnifying eyeglasses like he's the terminator. Then, I saw a group picture of the whole staff and saw those eye bags with eye bags. Keep those things on! He's very friendly--with the staff. He ignores the patient. Ever been in a room with three people and you're treated like you're invisible? That's how he is. I had one problem that I brought to the attention of the staff. Oh, that's gum recession. No, you crazy woman, it's enamel erosion at the gum line. Could not believe she said that. Where did she get her degree? The University of Jeffersonville? Mister terminator eyes looked at it and he put a composite filling on it. At some point, it fell out. They should have replaced it as they warranty their work (or they did) but they don't tell people so it's not really a problem for them if the patient doesn't know this. He put another filling on a front tooth. He wrapped the composite around the bottom of the tooth to the back. Who does this? That lasted three days and just cracked off. That would have been fine if he were plastering a wall. He would do dental work on me and there was a pit forming on the next tooth. He never mentioned that probably because he never noticed it. Guess those glasses gave him tunnel vision. Billing was the worst. Did some procedure and my out of pocket was not that much. I gave the assistant my debit card to run. PAID IN FULL. I get a call a few months later reminding me of the follow up cleaning but told they couldn't see me until I pay the balance I owe. Like, what balance? I call the insurance, and they now say I owe them a balance. She looked it up. No you don't owe them anything. The insurance lady called to talk with this other woman. Not sure what she said but It was taken care of. Insurance is confusing and there's like a million plans out there. But, this was her ONLY job.

just now New Long…read moreread- I'm an adult woman who is absolutely terrified of the dentist yet it became necessary to have a tooth extracted and I reached out to Oglethorpe Dental and made an appointment because my husband had used them in the past and they were the only dentist office that I was aware of other than an oral surgeon that would do an extraction. When making my appointment because of my anxiety I was offered to be medicated and advised I would arrive- be provided a medication for anxiety and then have to wait one hour - fine. My appointment was at 9 so I arrived a few minutes early-c-rays were done and I paid for the medication which was a separate cost and then waited. About an hour later I was taken to a room and a numbing agent was placed on my gums and I waited for some time before the dr came in and he did several injections which I did not feel and he left me for the numbing to take affect. 40 plus minutes later he was back, all minutes where I laid there thinking about was about to happen and scared beyond measure. The dentist then puts the metal instrument in my mouth and I can still feel it. Be mindful that I am aware of pain Va pressure, I could feel it! The dentist then shoots additional numbing agent into my mouth without speaking t me- he gets my lip and the palate of my mouth and this time I can very much feel the needle "and" much of the medicine in the syringe shoots directly in my mouth and I have to spit it out. I'm again left to wait and in a few moments a nurse walks in ask me if I'm numb and then ask if I need to be referred to an oral surgeon and my response because I'm shocked is absolutley if that is what the dentist thinks- then another nurse comes in and tells me that she is not trying to change my mind but if I'd just stay very still he would get it and I would feel so much better - so I agree and then I again wait , and wait all while I hear friendly conversations going on down the hall- then finally he comes back and says ok I'm going to test it - again I can still feel the metal on what seems like a nerve. Dentist puts tools on counter, never speaks to me and walks out at which point I was referred to an oral surgeon. I was there from 9a til almost 1. I was treated in my opinion horribly and left in additional pain not knowing what I was going to do because they made it a point to let me know the oral surgeon was likely booked 3 months out. This morning I sit here in much better spirits because I was fortunate to get an appointment with Dr. Wright for whom I saw yesterday - I was able to be fit in within a week and survived on my antibiotic and some pain medication which luckily I had available because nothing was prescribed to me. I arrived at Dr Wrights office a few minutes before my 9a appt. I was immediately taken to a room where a nurse stayed with me 100% of the time . I was administered gas for my anxiety , Dr Wright came in and we talked, he numbed me up, we waited a few minutes and we numbed me up some more and before 10a I was out and headed to pick up a prescription for the discomfort I was going to feel these next few days and my tooth was extracted. If you have made it this far I would never recommend Oglethorpe Dental it wasn't even about affordability for me but you def get what you pay - walking away from a patient and no compassion not to mention he liked the use of the word retard for people who couldn't sit still and show fear
