Incredibly beautiful and historic hotel with superlative concierge, butlers, and other staff. One of London's - and the world's - great luxury hotels.

We normally stay at The Connaught when we are in London, but we recently had a nice 2 night stay at Claridge's while in town for a friend's birthday. Our room was quite spacious with a good size bedroom, closet and bathroom with a large freestanding tub. I was impressed with the room amenities which included a steamer and Dyson blow dryer. Our room, on the mezzanine level of the hotel, was low key a little confusing and obscure to find but on the positive side it was very quiet. We had occasion to visit and enjoy both lobby bars as well as breakfast before we departed. The location in Mayfair was wonderful and centrally located to all of the shops and restaurants that we wanted to visit during our stay. Overall, it was fun to try out a new (to us) hotel and we had a great vacation.

We came for the tea service and it was a very memorable and wonderful experience that I will likely remember for the rest of my life. We were seated near the pianist and cellist, and it was lovely to hear them play. We opted for the champagne addition, and it was a great way to start with the small sandwiches we were served. The tea was excellent: I got the Malawi Antlers, and it was very delicate, subtle, and rich in flavor. The scones were our favorite course: the clotted cream was rich and creamy, and the house made jam was bright and tasty. They also gave us a special cheesecake pastry for our anniversary, which was fluffy, delicious, and made us feel very special.

Among the live music and elegant atmosphere provided by Claridge's, they combine that with a fantastic selection of teas that are hard to find. We quite possibly had the best jasmine tea we've ever had. (The jasmine silver tip is something we immediately needed to have in our cabinet) In addition, their claridge's blend and some of their most rare teas were fantastic as well. The subtlety in the flavor as well as the variety in the selections was the perfect cap to a night out in London. Be sure to book in advance as we saw a number of individuals causing a scene at the entrance as they were turned away.

A beautiful spot for afternoon tea. Lovely teas, exquisite service, scrumptious scones (especially with that clotted cream and spiced cranberry jam), yummy sandwiches and gorgeous little pastries. We couldn't finish it all, but our lovely waiter boxed up the rest (and threw in a few extra scones) for us to enjoy for breakfast! They also made the best almond milk latte my guest says she's ever had. A must-do experience

Just an absolutely wonderful experience. The tea service is top notch and the food was great. I'll be returning next time I'm in London.

My friend recommended this to me as he had taken his mum there for a special occasion and they l loved it. I took my mum there as well for her birthday and i had no idea it was basically an unlimited afternoon tea session for 2 hours. It's a very large and airy space in the hotel with lovely live music playing throughout. Everyone very helpful and attentive. Loved every detail and recommendation they had for us. Definitely want to go again!

Came here for afternoon tea and had a great time! There was beautiful decor and relaxing live music playing the whole time we were there. We were served fast and the server always made sure we got more sandwiches and tea whenever we wanted! However though the food and desserts were good and presented in a nice way, there wasn't anything that I was overly impressed by, given the high price. I would come again for the overall experience, but not for the afternoon tea menu itself.

Beautiful restaurant right off the lobby

My absolute new favorite hotel! This is the epitome of luxury and classic British royalty. I've stayed at other hotels in London, more modern, but this was a much more amazing experience. The whole vibe of the hotel makes you feel like you are in London. The staff truly provide white glove service. There are adorable elevators on the property. The rooms are classic and luxurious. The English breakfast they serve is also amazing. My daughter fell in love with tea on this trip. We had such an amazing experience at claridges and can't wait to come back.

Amazing food and service!!! So many teas to choose from, food was so good, especially the desserts prob the best i've had for afternoon teas. Service was attentive and they kept apologizing for making us wait for our table, offered us free drinks at the bar and discount at the end. Truly a five star experience!!

Afternoon tea at Claridges includes: sandwiches, scones, pastries, and unlimited tea Sandwiches: Poached and smoked salmon with samphire on rye bread 6.74/10- I was honestly most excited for this sandwich as I love smoked salmon, however I was a bit disappointed because I thought it would be more flavorful. However most of the flavor was from the salmon, and the sandwich itself was a bit dry. It was still okay and the salmon was very fresh. Coronation chicken on brown granary bread 8.78/10- this was my second favorite sandwich, so much flavor and hints of spices!! Absolutely loved it Ham with tomato chutney and watercress on onion bread 7.42/10- this was tasty however it could have used more chutney. Ham itself added a lot of flavor but I couldn't tell the bread was onion bread Egg with tomato and basil on white bread 5.31/10- pretty bland, it was just okay. Honestly had higher expectations. Also egg was a bit lukewarm, would definitely taste better if served cold. Cucumber with lemon cream cheese on white bread 6.78/10- your average cucumber and cream cheese sandwich, enjoyed it however also was hoping for more flavor. Goat cheese, tomato, and basil eclair 9.88/10- this was my favorite sandwich of them all. SO flavorful. The eclair was very light and fluffy, the basil added a lot of flavor but wasn't overwhelming. The goat cheese was strong and made this sandwich taste like a savory pastry. Honestly so good. If sandwiches all tasted like this I'd have sandwiches all the time. Truly outdid themselves with this one. Plain and raisin scones 10/10- these were both so good. I liked the raisin one more just due to the added texture and sweetness of the raisin, however both of them were so fluffy, doughy, and filled with butter. Exceptional. Served with Cornish clotted cream and Marco Polo gelée Pastries: Chocolate and pistachio 4.34/10- a bit too dry for my liking and I don't think this paired well Caramel Saint honoré 7.32/10- really liked the filo pastry and the caramel was very rich in flavor Raspberry Eton 9.34/10 my personal fav, loved the custard filling Frasier with vanilla ganache 7.86/10- custard was good; didn't like the outer And for the tea at Claridge's we tried 9 different blends, those being: Claridge's blend- exclusive to Claridge's, English Breakfast tea, has a malty finish The rare chai - different from a regular chai because it's handcrafted and enhanced with spices, regular chai often uses "low grade tea and disguises it with spices" Malawi antler - made from the stems of the tea bush, "antlers" represent the earth of Malawi, only a few kilos of this tea are produced every year, and it can only be found in two places: one being Claridge's Jasmine silver tip - white tea, jasmine flowers are made to have this tea scented over 6 nights rather than artificially scented! White Silver tip- made entirely from spring buds that can only be picked for 20 days out of the entire year in mountains in eastern china, highest level of antioxidants and lowest caffeine level Rose pouchong - Indian black tea made with rose petals Sri Lankan hand rolled- hand rolled leaf to make tea, only a few kilos of this tea are produced per year Genmaicha - top grade sencha crafted by Moriuchi San- huge tea master on his 200 year old tea garden in Shizuoka Fresh English mint - grown exclusively for Claridge's in the Botanical Gardens in Cornwall Such a cute spot for tea and they have rare selections!! Definitely make reservations in advance as they are booked months in advance.

Claridge's was both lovely and scrumptious. Expensive but the ridiculous opulence is what made it so charming and fun.

The front desk went out of their way to understand and accommodate our room preferences based on availability, which we greatly appreciated. Our Executive King room was a highlight, the bed felt extra wide compared to a standard king, the pillows and mattress were exceptionally comfortable, and the robes in the room were super soft. Thanks to the high-quality, double-paned windows, all street noise was blocked out, and we all slept incredibly well. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting London!

She made sure our luggage was delivered and answered our questions. She made me feel valued as a customer and at ease on a stressful travel day. The hotel is located within walking distance of the tube, Oxford street with Selfridges as well as many restaurants. There is a taxi rank located right outside which was very convenient. The rooms were very comfortable with plentiful amenities like complimentary bottled water, mini fridge, robes and slippers, etc. The bed was so soft and there were a good variety of channels on the television. All staff we interacted with at the hotel were helpful and kind. There was a fire evacuation on one of the days we were there and an announcement came on the loud speaker informing us to leave and staff members guided us to the exit quickly. The buffet breakfast was nice with omelets by request, a variety of hot and cold items (bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, baked beans, pancakes/waffles, fresh fruit and vegetables, juices, cereal, yogurt, pastries). There were servers to clear your plates and provide drinks. We had drinks one evening at the bar and Marco was such an entertaining and efficient bartender. He made our evening memorable and put so much attention into making our cocktails and providing us with information about the signature drinks available. Overall I would stay here again! The location was wonderful and we had a very comfortable stay.

Though we didn't get to try the Afternoon Tea, we really enjoyed our quick meal at the pub located in the building- The Wigmore. We'd definitely stay again! Chai was my favorite and same with their house blend. It came out to about $240 US for the both of us, which was one of the cheaper options compared to other high tea locations. The rooms can be a bit small and there is very little room to put your toiletries in the bathroom. The large bowl-shaped sink takes up most of the counter so you are forced to squeeze in your stuff uber and around the bowl. Sadly, the faucet BARELY makes it over the edge of the bowl so when you wash your hands, water goes everywhere and ends up spreading around the counter and gets your toiletries wet! Ugh!! That one detail is definitely not up to the normal Hotel Indigo standard in my opinion. Whoever designed the bathroom should never be hired again! This should be a 3 star review based on that. But.... The saving grace was the front desk and the maintenance guy. We quickly discovered that our safe didn't work. The front desk got the maintenance guy to our room quickly and he reset it. When we were ready to leave, it failed again so they summoned the maintenance guy again. He reset it but it failed again. So he proceeded to replace the safe. Those things are HEAVY!!! The poor guy had to lug it up from downstairs, unbox it, take out the old one, install the new one and then lug the old one back downstairs!! This guy was sweating profusely but handled everything so professionally. So kudos to him and the front desk for making this happen so quickly, thus the 4 stars!!
