At the base of the trail is Broad Run. There is a small wooden deck and a wooden bench overlooking the water. Nice and quiet except for the occasional plane overhead from the nearby airport. Sad to see some trees down by the water have been defaced with graffiti.

Highlights: - Tiny log cabin near the start, a reconstruction of cabins built by Confederate soldiers in Civil War era - Nearby Lake, which is pretty nice view - Wide open pasture with lot of grass in a clearing, calm and peaceful walk. There are various plaques with historical bits of the Civil War dotting the area. Cool and laid-back spot for walking your dog. Interesting views too. Check it out. Last visited: 1/7/23

Drove down here on the weekend, in the heart of the wintertime…read more Visiting the area around Bristow with my mom + sister, so figured this would be a good spot to walk the dog. Plus, this was technically on the way back, so it worked out nicely for us. Entrance to the park is a bit tricky -- just go straight at the traffic light at the end of the road. The road is narrow, and it's easy to miss it by heading left instead -- a mistake we almost made. The parking lot is not spacious but there were lot of free spots at the time we went. Thankfully it was not too busy. Only I got down, as it was rather cold weather. I walked our dog for a good half-hour. Trees everywhere, the scenery was nice. A bit muddy at parts, but not overly so. I recommend bringing a pair of hiking shoes just in case. Trail ran through the woods, with some interesting views. Saw all kinds of trees -- long and narrow ones, fallen ones, dead and decaying ones where the wood gave way when you stepped on them. The walk felt kind of lonely though -- I honestly didn't see another soul on the walk. I figured it might be the weather or something. My dog enjoyed it a lot. I did too for the most part. The views were nice and relaxing, very calming overall. I am a fan of the cold, so that helped too. Overall, cool spot. Nice wooded trail area for casual walks, and for bringing the dog on. The trail was moderately difficult but enjoyed the company and used walking sticks from broken branches! We had a big group with three teens, ranging in age from 14, 16, and 18! We all enjoyed the colorful leaves bright red, orange and yellow, just bursts of colors against a blue sky as the sunlight winnowed through the some of the bare trees! Absolutely breathtaking solace with the crunching of leaves as we traversed the trail. There were some steep grades, but fortunately we managed with the aid of the makeshift walking sticks!! Definitely, the Best prescription for the winter doldrums as they approach!!

My family and housemate went on Memorial Day and found easy parking at 7152 Centreville Rd #7126, Centreville, VA 20121. Here's why you should go: 1) Trail: It's an easy trail. Our four-year-old daughter had no issues hiking the entire time herself. It follows Bull Run with areas to dip into the water. 2) Wildlife: You'll see it all, including snakes. Just be mindful where you step. Most of the snakes are harmless. 3) Nature: Even though close to civilization, you feel like you've escaped the city. 4) History: The trail has ties to the Revolutionary Wat and Civil War. Markers along the trail explain.

Dead bugs all on the outside and inside of the pool. Dirt and debris inside of the pool. I got my money back and left and went to another pool in Centreville. Never seen such a dirty pool.
