I have given him many options to make this right, but he has continued to disregard our concerns, make light of the situation, and refuse to take responsibility for the mishandling of our project which has now fallen behind a year +. He fabricated and inflated the numbers on the excavation to cover for the fact that he said he took the deposits (again without my permission) for septic and electrical materials in April 2021. He even upcharged us $1173 for electrical wire with the Change order over the summer 2021 because he said prices had gone up. When we asked him to produce these materials, after our conversation with the DEP where they confirmed that they had not spoken to him or requested he move the tank. DEP said the septic was approved in June and DEP had not been in contact with Ben since. I have screen shots of text messages where Ben stated he was going to begin digging for the septic, but DEP said they have to notify him atleast 2 days prior to work being done on the land. Even the work he did on the excavation was done incorrectly. He damaged areas we told him not to go into and he buried tree stumps even though we specifically asked him not to because that is DANGEROUS. He even destroyed a natural flowing stream we had on the property. We had to hire a new excavation company to fix all the things he messed up. BH Decker is nothing if not consistently deceitful. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS CONTRACTOR. HE WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND RUN.

And they finalized the project with a sweep of the yard picking up every single screw/nail and left nothing behind. I was away on business during the project and with the steady flow of updates from Shawn he made me feel like I was there. We had drainage trouble. Every time it rained our entire front yard would get swamped and on the…read moreother side the rain would runoff our driveway in sheets that pushed the bordering crushed rock 30 feet into our sideyard. Bryon excavated a 40 foot run of drainage pipe alongside our driveway at the front yard and replaced it because it was half full of mud and rocks. He put in French drain piping that had like styrofoam bits netted all around it so roots and stones couldn't get through. And he put a sieve-type cap on the exposed end so no more dirt/rocks could muck it up. When water still wasn't running through the rest of the underground drainage system. Bryon had to figure out where the other blockage was. Turned out to be a caved in pipe in the middle of our (paved) driveway. But Bryon is not only smart but very, very clever. He sawed out just a square 18" piece of the driveway, dug down 3', Cut out and replaced the section of pipe that had caved in, and then sealed everything up as if nothing had ever happened. Cities I've lived in this would've cost several thousand dollars. Bryon's total? Incredibly fair and reasonable, and as the problems multiplied he checked in with revised, always fair, estimates. He went the extra mile over and over again. He even seeded places where the lawn got a bit torn up. He's going to be our go to guy for any kind of excavating and drainage work we need in the future, driveway sealing, tree trimming/removal, and more. He's amazing - we *strongly* recommend him to anyone with these kinds of problems.
