We were hungry on a Sunday afternoon and went to Qidi Vidi to eat realizing we need to book at least two months in advance. We didn't have time to go to downtown as we would be late for our flight so, we checked out Clancys as it was close to the airport with two good reviews.
We were surprised that the Seafood Chowder was one of the best we had in our entire 3300km road trip in Newfoundland. The coconut shrimp reminded me of what we get back in Kerala as this is one of our dishes, the calamari with jalapeño was a great combination. We also loved the fish and chips, especially the veggies that were roasted the right amount. The attention to detail was commendable.
The service was awesome as they took into account our rush to go to the airport and we were left with ample time in the end.
I see this place as a hidden gem, I am a seafood bum but have not tasted it from the downtown restaurants, I can't compare with them, but I can definitely compare it with the rest of the places around where we ate in Newfoundland and found Clancys as one of the best, food and service. read more
