My experience with this firm continues to cause distress 7 months after the debacle. Know This! These people are poorly organized and do not leave you feeling anything but angry and cheated. Nearly 3 months prior to sale we set a date. References were called but I believe they were family or friends. I was moving out of state so could not be there to oversee the sale. Two weeks prior to the agreed upon date , I was informed the date was moved forward one week . When I showed email proof, this firm changed back, but didn't reschedule another commitment so my sale was double booked. As a result I was told they wouldn't have enough time to properly prepare. ( and they didn't property prepare, it was total chaos.) It got worse. As promised, they advertised the sale for Friday and Saturday . On Friday morning, in another state, I receive a call from my security service. This firm was not at my home, but the public was. They were walking through my house and had tripped my alarm. J&k said they were at the other sale and "made a mistake" advertising the sale on a day they did not intend to be there, and "made a mistake" leaving my door unlocked. So the poorly prepped sale went on a day after strangers walked through, but J&K "reassured" me "nothing was missing." Know this: J&K will not provide you with a list of items sold, nor how much items were sold for. they will tell you that at the end of the sale they let buyers walk because "they were trying to and dime me." And lastly they will bring in another firm to charge you hundreds of dollars to clean out what didn't sell so that firm can resell it for their own benefit. Im not sure if there was conflict of interest. In summary, my advice, find an estate sales firm that knows estates.

Drove home from Mass. to Connecticut and when I got home the black pants - same size, same style - didn't fit at all. Called the store and the Manager told me I have to drive back to Mass. to return them. I asked if I could return them by mail - NO - they can't do that. I also loaded up on some jewelry and things for the man. There are lots of employees here, but none of them really asked if people needed assistance with finding stuff. They seemed mainly concerned with ringing people up. I was asked at the register if I had any help and I happily told them no. I had over $500 worth or items and was happy to see my total drop to $200 after my discounts. I went back to exchange something two weekends later, because it turned out to be too small for my man. The store seemed to have been ransacked... And there many empty shelves. Either the sale went great or they are not really good about restocking. Either way, the store is a great deal when compared to normal jcrew. Just not the service. Will I go back? Yes, I may not like the service there, but I do love the sales and discounts. Crew outlet fails to disappoint. I can always walk away with SOMETHING. Almost all bases are covered here: clothing for men, women, and a "crewcuts" section for the wee little preppy children. Sometimes the sales are *myeh* (e.g.: The clothes I always want the most are on sale for $5 off; that cute cream-colored pencil skirt my eye was immediately drawn to upon entering the store? Down from $75 to $70. I might as well buy it in the city...) Conversely, there are always great deals on basics. T-shirts, sweaters, and cardigans are regularly 20 - 40% off, and the sales rack does yield some cute things at great bargains. This place is clean and tidy, too. Ever been to an outlet where it looks like a tornado hit the clothes? (Or, perhaps, it looks like a tourist group full of bossy women with crunchy blonde hair and fanny packs tore it apart with little regard for others?)
