Hands down the BEST experience I have ever had with a tattoo shop, artist and business in general…read more I can't say enough amazing things in this review but I'll try: I was tattooed by Adam Stoner, the owner and you can tell right off the bat that he takes pride in his business. The shop is immaculately clean and sterile. The staff is attentive, kind and personable. Adam is honest. He will be completely transparent about your idea for design and execution. He's upfront about pricing and has more than one option for scheduling. He is currently offering a fast pass that will get you earlier booking options. He also has 1/2 day and full day time slots. I am in love with the work he performed. Being such a sought out artist I wasn't sure if he would take me.. it was going to be a third cover up. The first tattoos I got at 17, the next time they were covered in the last couple of years were done by artist that left a lot to be desired. They were unfinished and not detailed. Adam worked his magic and gave me masterpieces. It's important to add, as a woman and as a woman of color, I felt very respected and safe. His entire shop staff was kind. Customer service is top notch: I was so bummed that I forgot my headphones and Adam immediately sent his assistant to purchase me some on their tab. Plus dinner! After checking out the reviews and photos and finding Marcus on instagram I decided to Facebook message the shop. They replied in a timely fashion, answered all of my questions and got my appointment all set up. Once I got to the shop everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. The shop was super small but clean and well organized. Be ready and have cash as it's a cash only shop. If you happen to forget there's a drug store across the street with an ATM. I'm extremely pleased with my tattoo and have booked a future appointment with Marcus. Doug didn't do any work on me but he definitely is a great artist as well. Can't wait to come back!!

The first tattoo was done by Marcus, I had given him the idea that I wanted a tattoo for my dad that involved a dandelion and a butterfly and gave him a picture reference. But he drew an even better version and tweaked it to give it more meaning. After being pleased with my first visit I came back a couple months later wanting a moon tattoo. This tattoo was also drawn and done by Marcus. Marcus is a great artist and he does good with his work and the rest of the staff is so friendly! I picked my jewelry at the counter and the receptionist offered some excellent advice in choosing my piercing jewelry as I had a hard time deciding between the many options. I came in to get a year-old helix piercing changed from a flat-backed stud to a hoop and was told…read moreit could be done. The studio where I got it done originally put the stud on very tight. Something was clearly wrong. Instead of stopping, I went through an incredibly painful removal and jewelry change process at Evil By The Needle. I was told constantly by employee they were "sorry this is so uncomfortable," as I was biting back curses and experienced pain much worse than the original piercing. I bled a considerable amount and experienced a lot of discharge that I haven't in months. It is clear now that it has not healed (and was under stress), but that was not the impression given as the employee lightheartedly told me that I could "get away" with a hoop being put on. Original jewelry was given to me uncleaned with blood on it in a bag. I hope I am wrong but I do not trust that this type of piercing will be done properly here in general. In trying to fix it, another studio let me know the way the piercing exited my ear made it so jewelry put too much pressure on it. Serious irritation resulted. I do not blame Evil By The Needle for the mistake of the previous studio, but they should not have moved forward putting in their jewelry, which was also far too large for my ear and the seam where the hoop closed did not meet. It was jagged enough to tear up my ear further. Helix piercings can easily have complications, but my situation was not helped by my experience here. Though it is not infected, I wish I had been told the seriousness of the situation and given advice on how to proceed. I needed to start over and let the area heal. Instead, a needlessly painful situation was furthered... and they let me shop at their studio for new jewelry to put in. I seriously urge anyone getting riskier piercings to look somewhere else for expertise and guidance on their proper handling. If you have concerns get a second opinion! Mistakes like this can be serious!
