I bought a gold chain from this jeweler, and within six months it broke on me more than five times. Every time, I brought it back to the same place that sold it to me. At first they repaired it, but then they started charging me and blaming me for the chain breaking--even when it snapped in the same or similar spots. When I asked about swapping it for a different chain, the owner offered to buy it back for less than half of what I paid, using the repairs they did as the excuse. Not only did they refuse to continue repairing it, they tried to convince me it was my fault and expected me to pay for every fix. They didn't offer a replacement, a fair solution, or even take accountability for selling a faulty chain. The last time I went in, the chain had just broken again and only needed a simple solder. I was quoted over $40. I walked out disappointed. I really thought this was an honest, trustworthy place, but instead I felt misled and taken advantage of. Since then, I found a new jeweler, inside a furniture store in Getty Square, of all places and they repaired my chain once. It's been at least six months and it hasn't broken again. The whole situation still bothers me enough that I finally decided to write this review. My experience was genuinely terrible, and I don't want anyone else going through the same thing.

Finally got a callback from someone who thought he had just talked to me and cleared everything up. No! I called back a few more times and left messages with no response, then got fed up and went back to the store. It turned out the battery had been replaced THE VERY NEXT DAY, though no one had called to tell me. The women in the shop were puzzled -- apparently no one ever answers the office phone. (It might have been the owner's personal cellphone, which is ridiculous to use as a business phone.) The work was fine but I cannot recommend a place with such lackadaisical customer service.

Once you walk in, it will feel a little disorganized due to some of the staff because a few of them have no idea about prices and details. Some of them are a little lazy in a sense of showing items. I attempted to bring them to Buono directly to sell them back but they weren't interested in them.   I am disgusted that they do not stand behind the quality of their work and product.   I do not recommend this establishment at all because they inflate their appraisals to make a sale and take advantage of their repetitive customers.

Unfortunately, this was hands down one of the most frustrating retail experiences I've had in a while. I tried asking a few basic questions about the inventory--what was in stock, pricing, general availability--and was met with blank stares or confusion. Either there was a major language barrier or the gentleman assisting me genuinely couldn't hear me, because I had to repeat myself multiple times just to get half an answer. At some point, I gave up on even trying to have a conversation. There was no engagement, no attempt to be helpful, and zero vibe of wanting to build any kind of customer relationship. For a place that deals in precious metals and collectibles, you'd expect a touch of professionalism or at least some customer service. Sadly, neither were present. If you're a serious collector or even just browsing like I was, I'd say skip this spot entirely. Hard pass.

That's why it's so hard for me to say I'm extremely disappointed today. Over the years, I've brought my engagement ring in multiple times for diamond replacements. Once, a diamond they replaced fell out within two days, but they were kind enough to fix it again at no charge. I appreciated that and continued to trust them. During the pandemic, I lost a small diamond from my wedding band--a ring I had purchased from a reputable, certified website and received the diamond certification with. I found what I believed to be the missing diamond at home and brought it to them to be re-set. To my shock, they told me the diamond was not real. That crushed me. I knew the ring had real diamonds. The only place I had ever left that ring for any work was at this store. I have no hard proof of anything, but my gut has never sat right with that moment. Especially since I had noticed that one of the stones looked slightly off (a little more yellow), though I had brushed it off as dirt or lighting. To make matters worse, the quote they gave me to replace the diamond was double what I ended up paying elsewhere. It saddens me to say this, but I stopped going to them after that. I've learned a painful but important lesson--always get insurance on any diamond jewelry, and never leave valuable pieces unattended or unchecked. I still wish them well, but I needed to share my experience. Transparency matters.
