AN EMOTIONAL CHRISTMAS STORY
Saturday Dec. 30/17. Not too savvy with computers, reason for delay in praising this business. Heading for Vernon, B.C. to spend Christmas with our son and daughter families in a Chev Silverado 2500HD. Loaded to the Max. Shortly before arriving to Hinton, the DEF warning light appears which warns that speed reduces gradually every so many kms. until your speed is 7 kms/hr. No point in continuing. Weather -20, snowing. Chev dealer closed Sunday, Monday Xmas and Boxing Day Tuesday. So, no service till Wednesday. Having had experience with a tow several years prior with CJ's, I call Chris the owner. He arrived at our location, Tim Hortons, a few minutes later and saw the predicament we were in. He drove me to U Haul, suppose to be cheapest. $2000.00 for 10 day for the smallest of midget vans. Chris said he had a solution. Drove back to his shop where I had moved my truck. He pointed to a truck parked in the yard and said "You are taking that truck for as long as you need it." Called one of his drivers, also very personable/sympathetic, to come and help transfer the load then instructed him to fill the tank at his Cardlock then take my truck to the Chev dealer. Chris would attend dealer Wednesday to have my truck repaired. My wife, overcome with emotion, had tears in her eyes during the load transfer and most of the way to Vernon, hardly believing our fortune. While away the dealer called me to inform repair completion date, just before our scheduled return. TALK ABOUT STRESS FREE MAKING OUR TRIP MOST ENJOYABLE. In return, I washed the truck in and out, filled fuel tank. Met Chris at his shop to thank him. When I tried to give him a small token of appreciation, $500.00 cash, he refused, said, "Merry Christmas," jumped in his truck and left. Picked up my truck and enjoyed the rest of the trip home to St. Albert.
What more can be said!!!!! THANKS CHRIS. read more
