There were two older gents having pints of Guinness on the patio when we came in, but the bar was entirely empty. We had a nice chat with the sweet and friendly Venezuelan bartender. Asked him how the season was going, he said "nonexistent." It's totally dead in the winter in Torremolinos, the beach party town. We didn't have any food that even, just two pints, one Guinness, one Stella Artois. Menu looked to be standard pub grub (toasties, burgers, chips - meaning fries - with things on them, etc.), note the chef is English, but the owner is Irish, and those two terms are not interchangeable, so we were told. There's a snooker table in the back, have always wanted to learn how to play, one of these days maybe. Apparently, there's a rather sizable expat community here in southern Spain, something about the perfect weather. We felt welcome and comfortable, def you should pop in for a pint.

There's plenty to keep you occupied here: pool tables, boxing games, etc. There are also TV's found throughout the bar. It appears that all the locals hang out at Coco's. While my friends and I were visiting the area, we bumped into the same people bothing nights we were there. There's a lot of outdoor seating as well. There's nothing really special about this place. It's just a bar, with good drink prices.

The moments we spent at Boomerang--with the lovely Gill and Esther--outshined them all. We visited four times in two days (the 7th and 8th of August, pre- and post-dinner) and loved every minute. Both the plaza and Gill's space are charming and praiseworthy. The drinks (and snacks!) were delicious and inexpensive. And the company of these two ladies?? In a word: wonderful! We weren't just welcomed, we were embraced (literally and figuratively), and the nights we spent at Boomerang are what good memories are made of. I'm hoping we have the chance to make many more memories with these lovely ladies... Do yourself a favor and visit Boomerang.
