We hired CJN for the entire planning and up to day-of festivities and they rocked! From helping us pick out and hire several individual vendors, to taking care of our champagne at the reception (storing it, chilling it, and serving it (!)), they never let us stress! Things went so smoothly that I am completely convinced that there is no way we could have done it without them! At the end, we almost felt like we had UNDER-paid them, since they went above and beyond what we had expected. I honestly don't know how we could have pulled off our 2-day wedding at Broken Earth Winery in Paso Robles without the help of Jamie and Chris!!! If you are considering hiring CJN for any event planning services, I highly recommend you reconsider. Our experience with CJN, and more specifically Jamie, created much heartache and disappointment for us, and we do not wish that for anyone on their very important day. My husband and I hired Jamie, the owner, and her employee Rikki for our wedding day-of coordination services, and we were extremely disappointed with 1) the services received, and 2) the very poor manner in which Jamie handled our concerns post-wedding. We could have overlooked the sub-par day-of service delivery; however, from start-to-finish Jamie's customer service was very lacking and the way she left us after the wedding day was unprofessional, negligent, and traumatizing. To be more specific, though we were disappointed with the day-of services received (or not), my husband and I didn't want to jump to conclusions about CJN and make unfair assumptions, so we requested to speak with Jamie. Unfortunately, every attempt we made to speak with Jamie on the phone was shot down; instead Jamie sent us half-baked responses via email that didn't address any of our concerns. After several days, we were finally able to get Rikki on the phone instead, where she acknowledged many of the issues that took place, but didn't take ownership of any of them. Instead, both Rikki and Jamie did something very uncharacteristic of any professional across any industry - they repetitively threw our other vendors under the bus by casting all the blame on them instead of owning up to any responsibility on their end. After hearing from Jamie and Rikki that everything overlooked on our wedding day was due to our other vendors, we requested a conference call between all parties. Our other vendors immediately agreed to setting up a call. That was when Jamie let us know that she was no longer interested in resolving our concerns and that any issues/concerns we had were for us to handle. Jamie's conduct as a business-owner was absolutely appalling, and we were so very disappointed and heartbroken that our wedding memories will forever be stained with these terrible events. To detail the shortcomings of the wedding day-of services provided, here is a list of everything neglected: - Failure to coordinate the toast service with the caterer - this is a very common and basic activity performed by all day-of coordinators. We had to ask our coordinator Rikki to start toast service halfway through our speeches - Failure to notify bride and bridal party of start of ceremony - I had to send one of my bridesmaids out to the ceremony site to check with Rikki on when we should come out (from the Bridal Cottage) for the walk-out. It should be the coordinator's job to prompt the bridal party for the walkout, as she is coordinating the overall timeline. Had my bridesmaid not checked, the bridal party would have walked out late. - Failure to completely set up all ceremony props as agreed-on. After the ceremony had begun, my husband noticed there were a few ceremonial items missing/incomplete, and had to get his cousin to help set them up - Failure to set up pre-ceremony and cocktail hour lawn games as previously agreed on - Rikki had agreed to setting these items up, but overlooked this. Seeing that Rikki was nowhere to be found, and none of the lawn games were set up, my husband and his groomsmen had to steal away during our Wedding Party photos to set these items up - Failure to communicate our day-of timeline with our other vendors. I could sing praises of Jamie and her team for days and days! I booked her for my traditional Indian wedding about 9-10 months before the big day. She had assisted with one Indian wedding before mine, so I was a little nervous that things would be overwhelming for her (It was about 300-330 guests). However, I knew I had made the correct decision the day I met her. She was extremely professional, calm, graceful and poised throughout EVERYTHING. I had about 5 different wedding events over a 3-day span that she was going to be helping out with. Mainly, she handled 3 of the 5 because 2 of them were family-oriented and I didn't want to over burden. However, she was present for all 5 of the events. For the 2 events that were at home, she handled everything with ease. She didn't need to be told what to do; she just knew what had to be done and completed the task by finding someone and MANY times, did it herself. That is just an amazing quality to have! I don't know where to start to explain to you that she is absolutely amazing. She was always on top of my requests and the million things that went into making the wedding happen. She routinely sent out emails asking me what she could help out with in the periods where we didn't have much going on. My family and I wanted to find the main vendors ourselves (venues, food, accommodations). However, she assisted us in finding our photo/video vendor, hair and makeup, decorator, rental companies, etc. She helped us plan and prioritize for all the wedding events, made sure we had things in place that we never would have thought of. Luckily I lived in the area, so we did 2-3 runs of the venues to talk everything through; once was with the decorator and her so we could plan everything to the tee. She took out so much of her time to meet with me personally, especially because I was local and I could take advantage of that! She literally worked her magic in coordinating with so many vendors and complex rental orders (Jamie, if you're reading this, I cannot thank you enough for the reception couch delivery!!). During wedding week, she handled everything SO WELL. I felt like I never saw her on the wedding day (except when she went out of her way to come find me and make sure I was holding up well), which I think is a good thing for day-of. You know she's working hard with her team to get everything done in an orderly manner. And, believe me when I say that there is no order when it comes to Indian weddings. The entire wedding week was filled with so many complexities and I think Jamie handled each one extremely well. She was working with all the different vendors, her own team, my family members, and my stressed-out self! Everyone in my family who met her had nothing but amazing things to say about her. I'm so grateful to have found Jamie for such an important day of my life. She managed everything so well, and most importantly without bringing the stress to me on the day of. She never let me feel like I couldn't have something/do anything for the wedding. Nothing was a "ridiculous request" - but I'm 100% positive that my family and I put together made ridiculous requests to her. Everything I said to her was "okay" and "let me work on it." She literally made me feel like I could ask her for anything and she would do it. She made the entire planning process about me; she never asserted her opinions unless I asked her. I think that's an extremely valuable quality for a coordinator to have. She truly wanted this day for me. Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet Chris on the day of because I was so busy and they were so busy; but I'd really like to say a big thank you to him as well. We worked with Jamie and Chris on our November wedding at Justin Winery. We engaged with them around April for our November wedding and by that time were fairly well underway with the venue and a few vendors. Our primary contact was Jamie and from the minute we hired her, she was fantastic to work with. She is very detailed, communicated well, and was always pleasant. Shortly after hiring CJN, they reviewed all of our agreements we already had with vendors and identified any gaps in information and offered some helpful advice. For the vendors we didn't already have lined up, Jamie was able to point us in the right direction, often making introductions and/or appointments for us. Because we live in San Francisco and aren't all that familiar with the Central Coast, Jamie's guidance was invaluable. She was even able to save us more than 50% on our shuttle busses because of her knowledge of the area and connections. Leading up to the event, Jamie was there every step of the way for walk-throughs, check-ins, and gut checks. She asked intelligent questions at the venue and with other vendors and always took careful notes, never having to ask for any information more than once, which was really impressive. I can't say enough positive things about Jamie leading up to the wedding, but on the day of the wedding her and Chris completely blew away both myself and my family. Because of all of Jamie's upfront planning, we hardly interacted on the day of the wedding. She arrived shortly before the first vendor and I hardly saw her because she was working with the venue and all of the other vendors throughout the day. I literally didn't have to do one logistical thing on my wedding day thanks to Jamie. And, more importantly, everything was done exactly as we had discussed, so there were no surprises. During the reception, Jamie and Chris were in constant communication with the shuttle drivers, DJs, and venue, and communicated anything we needed to know back to my husband and I. They kept us on-time throughout the night and always gave us little 5 minute warnings whenever something was coming up. Jamie was always in the background keeping a careful eye on everything and because of this was able to quickly jump in when I realized we had no idea how we were supposed to cut the cake! Jamie and Chris even stayed for the entire after party, which was unexpected. Thank goodness they did too because we had a party crasher! When one of our friends identified the unruly man to Jamie, her and Chris quickly threw him out and then got in touch with the venue. This really went above their call of duty, and was so very much appreciated. Jamie and Chris stayed to the very end of the party to make sure the party ended on time and that all of our guests got on the last shuttle. I can't say enough positive things about CJN. We hired Jamie as our wedding coordinator/planner back in mid to late 2013 for our May 2014 wedding at the Seacrest Hotel in Pismo. It may have been the best bang for our buck that we spent for the whole event. Early on, she did an excellent job making sure that we were on task and on schedule with figuring out our vendors, and wrangling them when we didn't have time to play phone tag. She made sure that we knew which services we were going to need, which we may or may not need, and those that we didn't, given our budget. For those that we weren't sure who to call, she had lots of suggestions for different price ranges. Jamie would check in regularly without being overbearing, and really just helped us keep our peace of mind. On the day of, she was a ghost, and I mean that in the best way possible. She was ever present and invisible at the same time. With very few exceptions, I was blissfully unaware of her presence at the wedding, and it really wan't until we looked back and realized that all of our people were where they needed to be and everything just hummed along completely smoothly that it was apparent how much of a difference she made. First off, let me just say we would give CJN 10 stars if we could! The short and sweet of it - CJN was the best vendor we hired. Hands down. AND probably one of the best values considering the amazing level of service provided. We can't stress enough that hiring CJN was the best decision of our wedding day outside of my husband and I getting married! When my husband and I first got engaged, a colleague of mine gave me his one piece of advice when it came to planning a wedding - get a day-of coordinator so that you could actually enjoy your wedding without constantly juggling the timeline of the day with demands of family, guests, and vendors. Thankfully, we were referred quickly over to CJN Event Planning, and as soon as we were in touch they never disappointed us. CJN is Chris and Jamie Neutill, an amazing couple that have built a great company around event planning. Despite my husband and I planning our wedding from out of town, we were fortunate enough to be able to sit down with Chris and Jamie in person before hiring them. That meeting was just what we needed to feel confident, combined with positive reviews we read online. Now about their service level: Jamie was my main contact throughout the planning process, and she was superb. Incredibly prompt at responding to emails, even sending brief notes to wish us a happy Thanksgiving, etc around the holidays. Jamie also checks in on a periodic basis to see how planning is coming along, providing guidelines for when vendors needed to get booked, recommendations for vendors when requested, outlines for day-of timelines, and on and on. The big thing to stress though is that they never tried to push any particular vendor on us or to steer our planning away from what we wanted - they simply provided recommendations when asked and helped us keep on track of the planning process. They were also flexible in putting together the right day-of package for us that was a hybrid of their standard one based on our needs. Bottom line: they let us plan the wedding of our dreams and then helped us carry it out. Leading up to the wedding: Despite a busy work schedule themselves AND a newborn (adorable!) baby, Chris and Jamie remained very attentive to our needs. We communicated several times the week of the wedding, trading notes on what was to happen when and figuring out how to get everything where it needed to be. Jamie also checked in with all of our vendors to confirm date, times, etc with everyone and to make sure everyone had the day-of agenda. Day-of: We had decided to do some of the flower arrangements ourselves, and Chris and Jamie were awesome at helping us set everything up. Chris picked up the flowers from my parents house the day of the wedding (along with several other items) and got them delivered and set up as requested. Jamie texted me the morning of to say congrats on the day and to stress she was available to help with anything as needed. For someone who was concerned leading up to the wedding about getting all the details nailed down and wanted to make sure the day flowed well, I was concerned about being able to let go and just enjoy the day. Thanks to Chris and Jamie, they had built a solid level of trust and confidence by the day of that allowed me to achieve that goal of letting go - and enjoying! They were always present but not intrusive, guiding the flow of the day as we had imagined. They were courteous to everyone, attentive especially to my husband and I and our families, and always available to do anything needed. Absolutely a "can-do" attitude and VERY flexible. Never once did I feel the urge or the need to look at a clock and make sure everything was running on schedule. During the reception, Chris would gently approach us and ask if we were ready to move to the next key event and if needed, we juggled a couple items. They worked perfectly with our vendors and took charge of managing everything as needed. Even my dad (a very low-key guy) was raving about the level of service as they constantly came around to ask if we needed anything. Examples: I wanted a pair of flip flops to change into after the main parts of the reception, and not only did Jamie make sure they were available, but she reminded me they were there and had nicely placed them under the head table for me. When my dad hadn't managed to get a slice of cake, Chris ran off to get him one. At the end of the night they helped us round up everything that was ours and get it where it needed to be. Bottom line: if you want to truly enjoy your wedding and not stress out about details - or have your family stress out about details - then hire Chris and Jamie! In the days following our wedding, all of us could not stop talking about how wonderful they were and how they enabled all of us to relax and enjoy what was an amazing day. Jamie and Chris have many years of experience planning/coordinating weddings at multiple wedding venues on the Central Coast. They were involved and helpful from the first day we made contact with them until everything was cleaned up after the wedding. Jamie is extremely prompt with email and phone communication and Chris is an expert with the details of planning for food and drinks per person. They organized everything from rentals to venue booking, contacting vendors, and organizing/finalizing details. We needed help & researched for planners. Santa Margarita Ranch was our venue & they recommended a few planners. Jamie was one of the few we researched & we knew right away she was the one. We hired her for the big Daddy package so she could help us with everything. Since we were out of state & unfamiliar with vendors + the area, I needed all the help I can get. I'm a working Mom who is always on the go - not a lot of time to worry about wedding stuff, so thank goodness for Jamie! Jamie and her team are the absolute best! We had our wedding last weekend at Santa Margarita Ranch and we just could not have pulled off all the amazing details we did without Jamie. I'm someone who likes to plan but there is so much to figure out besides just getting a bunch of vendors and it can get so overwhelming. Where does this go, where do you want that? What are we using for this? From the big things to the little things, Jamie made sure everything was planning to the nth degree and went as planned on the wedding day. She left no question unanswered and whenever she called or e-mailed me she had the best questions. And when I realized I had forgotten our guest book at home (200 miles away), I told her at 5pm the night before the wedding and she made sure we had one in time! I was reluctant to hire a coordinator for my daughter's wedding. I am a business owner and thought "how hard could it be"? My daughter and I met with Jamie and I still was not sure exactly how it all would work --- and was she worth it. I'll tell you -- as the time grew closer she kicked in -- and I was convinced. She fielded numerous emails from my daughter and me in our crush to make sure everything was coming together. Jamie coordinated vendors and pulled details together flawlessly. And Jamie made it all HUM!! And then when the "day of" arrived --- I realized we could not have done it without her. She brought calm and order to all of it. She integrated with all the other vendors and was the master behind the scene. If you have any doubt -- get rid of it.
