I noticed a post on Nextdoor asking for handyman recommendations. There were a bunch of replies,…read morebut only 5 that seemed to match my criteria. I did research online for those 5. There was only 1 that had what I was looking for in a handyman company. Included in my list of requirements was BBB registration, insurance to protect customers and very positive reviews on all the main sites (Angi, Yelp, Google, etc.). It was also important that the 'company' be more than one person and have experience in the projects that I was interested in doing. Only one of those companies checked all the boxes: Welter Home Services. I called them and spoke with Kevin about our current and future needs. We had 3 projects. I wanted to do one to be sure I was pleased with their work (I was) before starting the other two. Kevin explained what labor and materials we needed to complete the job. He provided a detailed estimate with all materials and labor stated. Our first project was the replacement of a kitchen pantry door - including the whole door frame, hardware and trim. This required removing the old door, frame and trim - and painting the new door, frame and trim. On the agreed upon date, a Welter HS employee showed up at our door exactly on time. He was very pleasant and helpful. He completed the project, checked his work and made some touchups where the appearance as not "perfect", then did a great job of cleaning up the area he had worked in. We are very pleased with Welter HS and the work they completed for us: on time and for the price they quoted. We are moving forward with the next two projects and are looking forward to getting them completed with the same quality and professionalism that they applied to this first project.

He offered several advice on my home as we were exploring other work. Highly recommended and I am glad I found a gem of a person and a company to work with. The prices are also quite reasonable for the high quality of work done.

After asking questions to get a better understanding of the project, he gave us a quote and told us he could be out there the following morning. We were astonished at the quick turnaround and grateful since we are looking to put our house on the market in the very near future. When Jay arrived with his team member, Juan, he re-explained what the project would entail and then Juan got to work. Juan ensured everything was covered and protected from the drywall dust/paint drips and worked extremely efficiently. Within 6 hours, our project was complete. As we are looking for a new home to purchase, we will definitely be reaching out to Dirty Deeds for any renovation needs.

They came in the afternoon to confirm the estimate and were back the next morning to do the work. The communication was great, we knew what to expect at every step. It was also nice to have online payment options (including credit card). The contract was also online and was comprehensive which I really appreciated. So many contractors have unclear paper contracts, if they have one at all! The process made everything really easy and efficient. We will definitely be using them again!

Thanks to the pandemic I've never spent more time in my yard and it just keeps becoming more and…read moremore fun out there. More and more fun for my children that is, but if they're happy...we're happy! Last spring we got a spring trampoline, which may just be the most used toy in our house...even thru winter! Last summer we got an above ground pool (like the rest of the United States) and while it was fun for a pandemic summer I prefer to spend my days at a real pool. And I think my kids would agree. When we decided no pool for this coming summer my kids had the brilliant idea to get a zipline to make use of the space we were no longer using. A few of their friends had ziplines (all from amazon/target) and they thought they were so fun. I started looking into all the brands of zipline and then came across JB Builders work. We already have a playset (pre pandemic), but if I were building one now I would definitely go thru JB Builders because his work is no comparison to anything else I've seen. He also builds playsets that are great for older children; my 8 and 10 year old have outgrown most of ours with the exception of the swings. We weren't really in the market for a new playset, but I reached out to see if he could build just a zipline in our yard. He came by a few days later and said he could build a platform attached to our playset and the kids could zip across the yard. The day he came out there was about 10 ft of snow on the ground, but I was all for getting the zipline installed ASAP. Unfortunately, JB is very popular between outdoor playsets, ziplines and even amazing indoor ninja gyms so I had to wait til mid April. His pricing is definitely more than what you'll find at target, but felt like it was safer and knew by the time I had a handyman install the target version it wouldn't be that much less. Mid April arrived and my kids were beyond excited. The older 2 and their friends love zipping across the yard, as do their friends. My 5 year old is a bit timid, but is happy on it as long as I'm holding it...and I know will be joining his big brother and sister for the ride sooner than later. I did get a little nervous about the safety of it, but it's pretty secure and I always make sure I hold a kid their first time on it no matter their age. Paranoid parent here. I even made my husband test it out before anyone in the family because figured if it could hold his weight all the kids were OK! My kids have already asked for an indoor ninja gym and I think they'd get sick of it fast since they aren't really the ninja climbing types, but if i did have that type of kid I would most definitely look into JB Builders. And if I ever decid to build a bigger kid playset JB will be my first call.

They love ninja warrior, but nothing looked like it would be a good fit for our woodsy backyard area. We collaboratively designed a treehouse with a ninja course underneath that looks great!
